I enjoyed camping here. Vault toilets were ok. This slot is by the main road, so you may hear cars driving by, but it didnt other us. It is a little close to one of it's neighboring slots so you may hear them if theyre on the louder side. Otherwise, the creek running through the camp ground is nice. Plenty of trees to provide shade. The views of the surrounding mountains were amazing.

All was well except one not so small detail. The fire pit is way too tall for practical cooking over the fire. We needed high, searing heat to cook two of our planned meals. It would take a huge amount of wood to build a fire that would cook over a high heat. And really, you want more coals than flame so your food doesnt end up with unwanted soot on it. So, I piled a layer of rocks/boulders in the pit to build my fire upon and got by just fine. But who designed that pit? Stop it. The presence of the cooking grate showed that the intent at manufacturing was to cook over the fire but it would seem the manufacturer doesnt understand the basics of campfire cooking.

Hiking is amazing here, campground is very quiet. Be prepared for cool nights. Ground is a bit rocky so make sure you have something to deal with that if tent camping.

The camp hosts are outstanding! Every campsite was super clean, and raked! The bathrooms were kept very clean. Hosts worked really hard to maintain a top notch campground. And they were friendly, professional, helpful.

Our site didnt have any shade, but once the sun set over the mountain, it was a pleasant quiet place. The sound of the creek nearby made for a relaxing evening. The restrooms, although pit toilets, were spotless and cleaned daily.

Being next to the creek was really nice although was a bit loud when sleeping. Super nice spot anyways.

Little open to the sun for the day hours but shade after 4pm very close to the river, can get loud but honestly makes for the best white noise.

EXCELLENT spot. This specific campsite was a little small (2 and 4 seemed to be more spacious), but totally worked. Firewood is available for sale at the caretaker's trailer. We had purchased in town, but would probably buy at the camp next time.

Pros: great campsite, beautiful setting, good space between sites, well maintained Cons: campers letting their dogs run off leash!

clean campsite. easily accessible yet still very removed from the nearby town. easy to book in october. beautiful scenery all around, and easy access to breath taking trails. bathrooms were clean and an easy walking distance. there was a drinkable water spout right outside of our campsite which was nice. overall, amazing experience!

Wonderful CG with really nice sites right on the creek. We were there in October and it was beautiful. Not crowded at all. Sites in the middle have no shade so be careful. In the summer theyre probably very hot. James the host was FANTASTIC!

Beautiful campground, greatly located if you want to hike the big pine lakes. Be careful, some sites have very little room to pitch a tent though. We had two tents and barely found space for them on site 6.

We stayed in site 16, along the river. It was fantastic. I really dont want to publicize this, but sites 17 and 18 are premium sites. There was no host during our stay, late sept early oct, but there was a host that came down from the campground above us ( big pine creek campground). This campground is great, it has water and a nice trail right next to the river. Interesting that the area including this campground experienced snow related avalanches during the winter of 22/23. Several large pines were knocked down from south to north, laying across the river, but miraculously the campground was not effected. The reservation system is interesting, seems that quite a few folks make reservations, but dont show and dont cancel.

Campground area was relatively quite. Campsites have a good distance between them. Lots of nice trees provide shade for most of the sites. Bathrooms were clean and relatively modern. Would stay there again.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
