The setting is wonderful. The campsite was mostly level for my RV. The bathrooms were clean. And the camp host was attentive and visibly present. All great!

We had an excellent visit, even if it was cut short 2 days from our battery / generator issues. The comp host met us right away to check us in after parking, and starting to set up. Space 092 was only slightly challenging with an incline on one side that needed our rig leveled. The biggest issue was walking to our chairs, dinner spot & firepit later in the evenings. The steps lead right to the firepit! We put up solar string lights so we wouldn't trip & fall into it. T-mobile worked great for us! 5GUC the entire time. No issues except for a few po kets of no service down by the lakes & at Horseshoe Lake. Other than that, we had mobile service the entire time.The small store was well stocked, and we were happy to be able to refill our propane tank there.

I talked to the host before reserving to make sure we would not have any problems entering the site with our trailer. We get there and it was impossible to get in and the host was no help. We had to go to a different rv park.

Mammoth is always a great place to visit. Twin lakes generator hours are from 6:00a to 10:00p which is ridiculous in my opinion. Give us a break from the noise pollution so we can enjoy the sounds of nature!

I commend Rodney and Leona, as well as the relief team of Tom & Heidi on their meticulous efforts at managing the campgrounds.

2nd time staying at Twin Lakes. Love all the convenient amenities. The camp hosts were extra helpful and kind. Caught plenty of fish. The bike trails were a big hit on an e-bike cant wait to go back. Sept weather was perfect

Campground was extremely crowded. Sites are spaced really close together. The pic table was on the wrong side of my van. The site was more suitable for tent camping.

First camp host had a horrible aggressive attitude and accused us of lying about arrival date. Luckily, host Heidi and husband took over and made up for the unfriendly host. Loved space 36 but I hope they never have a rude host again!

We were in site 94. FLAT and LONG. Unlike many of the other sites. 95 is good too. We have a 25ft Airstream and a 20ft long truck and we fit. Some sites are tilted. Some sites are concave. A friend had to leave and go to another CG bc his site was concave. So the good stuff: The lake is GORGEOUS. There is ample space between sites. The camp host, Roni, is always around, friendly and helpful. The store is OK. They do have a dump for $15 and propane for $8/gal (kind of high). There are magnificent paved bike/walking paths that go everywhere. There is a fabulous waterfall that dumps into Twin Lakes from Lake Mamie. The town of Mammoth has a great brewery that also has delicious food. We took our canoe onto the lake and had a great time. Crystal clear!! They rent boats and canoes right there as well.

This is the best campsite. It is secluded enough but also close to the store, bathroom, and trolley stop. There is very minimal cell service.
@JamieEB238DFE1 · Camped on Sep 12, 2024 at Campsite #74
The campsite was great! It was pretty easy to back a travel trailer into the provided parking spot. There is a large rock in the middle of the site that the children loved climbing on. The site was walking distance to the bathroom, the general store and the trolley pick up spot. The camp store had showers for $8/person. There is an RV dump for $15. They have a RV water fill also. The town has a free trolley that you can ride into town or local lakes/hikes- you can even load your bike onto the trolley. We didn't see any bears while we were there but the camp host said one had come through the day before our arrival. For our Mid-September trip the temperature ranged from high of 70 to low of 34. It did get quite windy on our last night. There is little to no service for Verizon.

The campsite (#95) was very poor for a tent as there was not a level spot on the entire site except immediately adjacent to the fire pit.

A beautiful setting and lots of trees and bushes between campsites.

We loved loved our ranger, Ronnie, who was super knowledgeable, friendly, hilarious, and welcoming. There was another male ranger who we met on the other side that was also fantastic. Twin Lakes had stunning views, clean facilities, and great location. I would love to come back as soon as possible!

Beautiful campground. We stayed at site 4 . Bathrooms are nearby as well as trashbin. The twin lakes general store was very close as well. Definitely going back next year (2025)

Site 74 sits in a loop above the lake and has some shade. The parking pad is generous and three stone steps lead down to the site. Our 10 x 10 tent fit nicely on the level pad at the back of the site. The table is not close to the bear proof food locker, which is not very convenient lugging containers and ice chests back and forthotherwise, its a great site.The camp hosts ran a tight ship, keeping the sites and bathrooms clean and the campers informed of the rules and regulations. The site is close to the Mammoth Lakes Basin bike path, camp store, showers and bathroom. (PS: The bathroom has no electricity or safety lights, so youll need to bring a light.)
@JillP7409688 · Camped on Aug 25, 2024 at Campsite #80
Great camping, but our campsite was on a steep hill which made it a little challenging for chairs. We spend most of our time hiking and fishing.

The hosts were nice and kept sites and restrooms clean.Recently the campground was refurbished with new camp tables, thank you. A big downside are the new railroad tie posts lining the campground roads. Many are right in front of back-in campsites and block the vehicle from rounding the corner. These are the posts across the road directly in front of the site. When backing in, the tow vehicle needs to swing to the left to cut the corner but the post blocks the way. Please remove the ones blocking the sites. I know they are placed so vehicles say on the road but nobody parks off the pavement. The hosts see to that.If you dont understand this, go out and try to back in. You will hit the post directly across from the site.

beautiful location. site 26 and others on that side are very private. hosts were friendly, welcoming and informative. bring what ya need tho cause you'll need to take out a loan for anything from the store. almost $50 for two six packs and a bag of ice. i understand making a profit, but then there is just plain greed. oh, and $8 showers. i rinsed in the lake, yea, it was cold.

This is a very family friendly campground that is well maintained and set amongst beautiful surroundings. It's obvious why Twin Lakes Campground is one of the top campsites in all of California. My family and I will definitely be returning.
@Kristina0A7CDE · Camped on Aug 9, 2024 at Campsite #75
Its a family feels campsite. While the sites are closer to one another than I would like, it didnt matter once we settled. There is so much to do which is wonderful with a kiddo. The lakes are an easy access to get to and stunning. Its off grid, which we loved!
@DeniseL330C6CB · Camped on Jul 28, 2024 at Campsite #32
The campsite itself is great. It came with a sturdy table, a fire pit, bear box and lots of well maintained flat land. It was a decent sized site surrounded by trees and just a few feet away from views of the lake and the bathroom facilities with flush toilets. Everything we needed was available (minus the luxury of a shower). Our only complaints about our stay here were our interactions with one of the hosts. While we understand safety should always be a priority, the hosts tone and attitude were quite unpleasant, even when checking us in. Thankfully we did not need anything as she did not feel approachable. She was definitely not enough to keep us from returning. Overall, I would recommend this location to anyone.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
