This is the best campsite. It is secluded enough but also close to the store, bathroom, and trolley stop. There is very minimal cell service.

The campsite was great! It was pretty easy to back a travel trailer into the provided parking spot. There is a large rock in the middle of the site that the children loved climbing on. The site was walking distance to the bathroom, the general store and the trolley pick up spot. The camp store had showers for $8/person. There is an RV dump for $15. They have a RV water fill also. The town has a free trolley that you can ride into town or local lakes/hikes- you can even load your bike onto the trolley. We didn't see any bears while we were there but the camp host said one had come through the day before our arrival. For our Mid-September trip the temperature ranged from high of 70 to low of 34. It did get quite windy on our last night. There is little to no service for Verizon.

The campsite (#95) was very poor for a tent as there was not a level spot on the entire site except immediately adjacent to the fire pit.

A beautiful setting and lots of trees and bushes between campsites.

We loved loved our ranger, Ronnie, who was super knowledgeable, friendly, hilarious, and welcoming. There was another male ranger who we met on the other side that was also fantastic. Twin Lakes had stunning views, clean facilities, and great location. I would love to come back as soon as possible!

Beautiful campground. We stayed at site 4 . Bathrooms are nearby as well as trashbin. The twin lakes general store was very close as well. Definitely going back next year (2025)

Site 74 sits in a loop above the lake and has some shade. The parking pad is generous and three stone steps lead down to the site. Our 10 x 10 tent fit nicely on the level pad at the back of the site. The table is not close to the bear proof food locker, which is not very convenient lugging containers and ice chests back and forthotherwise, its a great site.The camp hosts ran a tight ship, keeping the sites and bathrooms clean and the campers informed of the rules and regulations. The site is close to the Mammoth Lakes Basin bike path, camp store, showers and bathroom. (PS: The bathroom has no electricity or safety lights, so youll need to bring a light.)

Great camping, but our campsite was on a steep hill which made it a little challenging for chairs. We spend most of our time hiking and fishing.

Nice clean camp ground.

We haven't been in over 20 years at this location and we were glad to be home!

The hosts were nice and kept sites and restrooms clean.Recently the campground was refurbished with new camp tables, thank you. A big downside are the new railroad tie posts lining the campground roads. Many are right in front of back-in campsites and block the vehicle from rounding the corner. These are the posts across the road directly in front of the site. When backing in, the tow vehicle needs to swing to the left to cut the corner but the post blocks the way. Please remove the ones blocking the sites. I know they are placed so vehicles say on the road but nobody parks off the pavement. The hosts see to that.If you dont understand this, go out and try to back in. You will hit the post directly across from the site.

beautiful location. site 26 and others on that side are very private. hosts were friendly, welcoming and informative. bring what ya need tho cause you'll need to take out a loan for anything from the store. almost $50 for two six packs and a bag of ice. i understand making a profit, but then there is just plain greed. oh, and $8 showers. i rinsed in the lake, yea, it was cold.

This is a very family friendly campground that is well maintained and set amongst beautiful surroundings. It's obvious why Twin Lakes Campground is one of the top campsites in all of California. My family and I will definitely be returning.
@Kristina0A7CDE · Camped on Aug 9, 2024 at Campsite #75
Its a family feels campsite. While the sites are closer to one another than I would like, it didnt matter once we settled. There is so much to do which is wonderful with a kiddo. The lakes are an easy access to get to and stunning. Its off grid, which we loved!

The campsite itself is great. It came with a sturdy table, a fire pit, bear box and lots of well maintained flat land. It was a decent sized site surrounded by trees and just a few feet away from views of the lake and the bathroom facilities with flush toilets. Everything we needed was available (minus the luxury of a shower). Our only complaints about our stay here were our interactions with one of the hosts. While we understand safety should always be a priority, the hosts tone and attitude were quite unpleasant, even when checking us in. Thankfully we did not need anything as she did not feel approachable. She was definitely not enough to keep us from returning. Overall, I would recommend this location to anyone.

Ronnie was a wonderful camp host for the beautifully maintained Twin Lakes Campground. Site 82 was wonderful. Flat parking spot, large campsite up against a hill with lots of trees for a hammock. Site 83 is very close but a laundry line placed between the two sites worked great. I'd camp here again.
@JamesH5225020 · Camped on Jul 27, 2024 at Campsite #70
Female camp host was extremely rude and condescending. Space was overgrown and poorly maintained!
@TenzinC8986E5F · Camped on Jul 23, 2024 at Campsite #51
This was our first time camping at twin lakes. We were at campsite 51 next to the hosts camp. The campsite was huge and spacious, well shaded, we set up two tents. Bathroom was a few steps away. We loved the walk to the lake, beautiful view. My only complaint is that there were no showers at the campsite, theres a store in the entrance to the campground that charges $8 per person per shower! I would definitely camp here if it was t for that.
@JenniL50A1AFEF · Camped on Jul 22, 2024 at Campsite #3
Great sites, easy access to local shuttles, right on the bike path. The sites are nicely spaced and the park is kept in nice shape. Quiet with attentive hosts. Just a short walk from Tamarack Lodge if you want to treat yourself to an amazing dinner (or nice lunch on the deck).

Hosts did an amazing job in checking people in and did an amazing job keeping the bathrooms clean

Campground is great, central to all the mammoth lakes and town. The Camphost are awesome, bathrooms are clean, couldnt say enough great things about it
@MayaKC04FDD125 · Camped on Jul 17, 2024 at Campsite #29
Site felt well maintained. We were not here for a long time, as we were just here for the night while passing through. There was no house that greeted you at the front that was a little bit different from my experience, but there were 2 people that came around on a golf cart that checked us in not long after getting there. Each site had a bear box, table and fire pit, and ours had 2 trees that we could hang a hammock from. My only complaint about our site (29) was that it felt ON TOP of the site behind us. It didnt feel that there was clear definition of where our site started and where theirs ended, but overall it was a nice spot. We were able to walk down to the bridge and see the lake and waterfall, but we did not do any activities so I cant comment on that. It looked like a shallow lake with a lot of kayakers and small boats. The camp hosts told us that there were showers at the camp store for $8, but we didnt adventure that far. There were trails that you could access from the campground, although again, we did not explore them. Cell coverage was very limited, but overall it was a nice little campsite.

The camp hosts were very kind, welcoming and low key. The bathrooms were kept up well, and the campground was quiet and beautiful. My family enjoyed camping at Twin Lakes campground.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
