Comfortable campsites and a beautiful setting. We visited in the fall before the winter season enjoyed the changing leaf colors on a hike around the lake.

I liked the size and privacy of my campground. It was close to a restroom as well. The views of the lake and mountains were beautiful. The trail around the lake was a very nice and fairly easy hike. I took my paddleboard out onto the lake. I was able to shower at the resort, which was convenient and easy. I will definitely camp here again!

Campground is great, Sierras are beautiful, especially in October with the leaves all turning. Dennis, the campground manager and Jeffrey. The other manager are great. Campground is clean and well managed.

Clean and quiet with excellent views of the mountain. Convict lake is a lovely destination in the Fall.

We had a large and easily accessible campsite. Walking distance to Convict Lake (which was a lovely short walk around) and to the restaurant (which is wonderful)!

The campground host Dennis makes all the difference. The campground is always clean and quiet. He is extremely professional and very helpful.

Beautiful lake. Good little hike that is not too strenuous that goes around the lake. Clean restroom facilities. The staff that takes care of the campground is very attentive. We shall revisit this location.

This was our second trip to convict Lake. We had a fun time, kayaking and fishing ( catch and release ). The clarity of the water is amazing. The only downside was needing to book 2 separate campsites for our two nights. When we arrived, the majority of the campground was empty, although showed fully reserved online. Looking forward to our next visit.

This is a clear, orderly campground situated in chaparral with easy access to the Lakeshore and beautiful mountain views. The head high chaparral gives most sites some privacy. Bring your own shade. It is nice to dayhike around the lake. We watched a bald eagle fishing in the lake, and deer came into our campsite to browse. The marina rents several classes of watercraft, or bring your own. Some people fish in the lake or outlet stream which runs by the campground. The resort has a small store and a restaurant. The campground is large and you can nearly always get a first come first served site on a weeknight.

Clean. quiet and spacious campground. Very nice scenic trail around the lake. Many thanks to the camphosts for keeping this campground well maintained, peaceful and clean. Our original site #35 was moderatly sloped upward. We could not level our traler. Thanks to Dennis (camphost), we were able to chnage to site #40 which slopes mildly dowanward. No problem leveling. Be aware that many of these sites along the mountain side have mild to moderate upward slope; many of the sites near the creek and vegetation have a mild to moderate downward slope. We drove around the campground and wrote down better campsite numbers for our future stay.

Campgrounds and campsites very nice (although none with shade), restrooms VERY clean, camp hosts friendly and helpful. The biggest negatives were the boat launch ramp and boat launching - no provisions for private boaters, in this case kayaks. No place to tie up after launching, no space in the water left for private boaters of any kind, everything taken up by pontoon boat rentals. Trailer parking was a considerable distance away, so no close parking for trailers. Will not use the launch facilities again, hence will not be returning for camping at Convict Lake.

Our campsite had beautiful views of the mountain and lake, and we saw deer every evening. The bathrooms were clean as well. The only negative aspect of this particular campsite was that there was no shade at all.

Site 61 needs a new ( Table ) old wooden table that has holes burnt through it and pieces missing!

I camped at Convict Lake Campground (site 49) from July 28-31, 2024. It was a last minute reservation and because of the site photo on Recreation.gov, I had my doubts. First of all let me say the site photo doesnt do it justice at all. Its a cute little spot towards the end of a main road. The tent pad is placed in a way that makes it semi private from the road. There is a stunning little creek, which was running strong, just 30 away from the site across a small meadow. It became my favorite morning coffee spot and the sound of the water at night added to the relaxation. There are deer roaming the campsites which I think it adds to the charm of the area. Camp hosts are fantastic! Campgrounds are clean and bathrooms are well stocked, spotless and roofless. One just happens to be right across from this site. Win! Neighbors were friendly and respectful. The entire campground was completely silent by 8 oclock every night. Its also just a short walk to beautiful Convict Lake. Genuinely cant say enough good things. Loved everything about it and will be back!

De ligging van de camping tussen de bergen is erg mooi. Daarnaast konden we ook een mooie wandeling langs het meer maken.

Amazing views. Flush toilets. Kayak rental. Big ber box. Deers. No mosquitoes in July. Easy check in and out. Tent pad is small so bring your small tents.

Great place to camp. It does get windy so make sure you strap everything down good.
@RobertR8191303 · Camped on Jul 7, 2024 at Campsite #11
Family had a great week fishing at the lake and sleeping overnight in the campground. Restroom facilities were kept clean in campground. Only negative would not be the campground but the lakeside area which is becoming more and more a party lake and not a fisherman's retreat with groups of people splashing and playing in the lake (disturbing fishing) as well as some houseboats not following no-wake rules and going full speed across lake causing large water wakes by shore. Also, parking rules are not enforced at all by forest service so folks just park how ever they want and are never cited for egregious parking violations.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
