This is our third Year spending time at Sherwin Creek! Love the remote setting in the forest and easy access to the surrounding area. Of course your only a few miles to Mammoth and all the activities available. This year my son brought the grandkids and stayed in a site close to ours,Awesome to say the least. He came in a day early and needed a place to park his rig. Tony and Debbie(Camp Hosts) went above and beyond to accommodate his needs and find a temporary site. They were the best hosts weve had, at the many places weve stayed over the years, making our 10 day stay unbelievable .Shout out to the lower Camp Host Patty who also was responsive to our needs and helped make our stay pleasant!

I had a great campsite on the creek. Had super cool neighbors and the campground host is really friendly and stops by to say hello.There was a bear in the area and bear awareness was in effect big time..

LOVE this campground! Spacious sites, as compared to other campgrounds in the Mammoth Lakes area. Clean grounds and bathrooms! The hosts, Tony and Debbie, were friendly, hard working and constantly making rounds on foot and in a cart, monitoring the sites and campers movements; coming in and out of the grounds. They were very welcoming and helpful to us!! We enjoyed the hiking trails and bike riding available nearby and the town of Mammoth offered restaurants, coffee houses, grocery shopping and ski/fishing/bike rentals if needed. The Mammoth Lodge and many lakes Mammoth offers are just a short drive. We highly recommended Sherwin Creek!

Enjoyed our stay at Sherwin Creek! The walk in sites are enjoyable along the creek side with lots of trees and beautiful scenery. The campground host Debbie and her husband are really nice and helpful. They do a great job keeping the bathrooms as clean as possible, considering they are pit toilets. Would recommend camping here if your destination is Mammoth! Its far enough away from people, but also relatively close to the city, so provides flexibility for grabbing a bag of ice in town!

Enjoyed our stay at Sherwin Creek! The walk in sites are enjoyable along the creek side with lots of trees and beautiful scenery. The campground host Debbie and her husband are really nice and helpful. You can buy wood from them for $9. They do a great job keeping the bathrooms as clean as possible, considering they are pit toilets. Would recommend camping here if your destination is Mammoth! Its far enough away from people, but also relatively close to the city, so provides flexibility for grabbing a bag of ice in town or going to a brewery!

The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is due to the fact that a water spicket that was listed on the campground map, was non functional. All the others in camp worked. This meant we had to lug water jugs during our two week stay. Only other issue were the electric bikes (kids) tearing up the forest. They created their own trails and made ramps. There needs to be some written laws in place concerning the forest destruction. On the plus side, our camp hosts Mike & patty were awesome, hope they come back next year!!

The campground is beautiful and site 84 was a perfect spot. The creek runs behind the site and you can hear it at night. The site is a short walk away from the restrooms, a water spigot, and camp hosts. The camp hosts Debbie and Tony are absolutely the kindest people, they helped me out when my car needed to stay in the shop for 1.5 days. The site was clean and the restrooms were kept clean as well. 100% will be returning in the future.

The location is perfect! Quiet, relaxing, just the trees, the sound of the creek and birds.June Lake is 25 minutes away so that made a perfect activity for one of the days we spent at the campground.The host, Debbie, she is wonderful! I can tell she works hard trying to keep everyone safe and happy. Checking if we needed anything else and trying to accommodate everyones needs.The bathrooms were clean on schedule on when needed. This place is a little piece of heaven! Thank you Debbie

The camp hosts were great people. We had a very good experience in this campsite. The vault toilets are as clean as can be given the type. Very accessible to the town and the highway. Highly recommended

Great camp grounds and helpful staff on site! This was a great pit stop car camp place for us as we were visiting the area. Relatively close to a lot of the attractions in the area and easy to get to.

My family and I stayed at Sherwin Creek from July 8-15; it was a great experience. While traveling to the campground on July 8th, we received a text from Deborah (a campground host) about our expected arrival time, which was interesting as we had never been texted years prior. It turns out she texts campers on their arrival day to ensure they will be occupying their site for their reservation period, and if not, she puts the site up as "available" for other campers to occupy. What a great idea! Deborah even gave out her phone number so you could text her about any issues you had during your stay.The campground and sites, as well as the restrooms, were spotless. All the hosts were super friendly. We were in Mike and Patty's area; they were constantly checking in on the campers and the grounds and giving updates on bear activity. My family has been camping at Sherwin Creek for 25 years, some years better than others. Obviously, these hosts go out of their way to promote a pleasant camping experience.

Clean campsite, attentive hosts, close enough to Mammoth to be accessible but far enough away that its quiet. Sherwin Lake hike was beautiful and well worth the moderate effort. Would recommend and plan to return!

The camp grounds were very nice, located down from the main sections of mammoth so it was a little less crowded and more quiet. The camp grounds themselves where surrounded by trees with plenty of shade, they provide bear boxes for each site, potable water through out the site, the bathrooms were clean. There were a few bears that roamed around at night but this is pretty typical for mammoth so plan accordingly with your food and snacks. Overall a nice campground, the hosts were friendly and made sure everyone stayed quiet when the quiet hours hit.

Many of the sites are not level - prepare your trailer with lots of blocks to level - good campground and camp hosts overall

Great campground close to town but so so quiet. Our site was great for our travel trailer but it's also got some great spots for tents, too. Bathrooms in campground were very clean!

We hiked up to Sherwin Lake and then Valentine Lake. It was absolutely gorgeous!!!! We saw three people the entire hike up so we had the whole lake to ourselves to fish. The fishing was awesome. So many brook trout. I want to come back here every summer.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
