We spent 2 nights here. It's a primitive campground. Vault toilets were clean and well maintained (even had a can of flying insect killer in it). There is some road noise. The sites are well separated. Overall we liked the campground.

Nice campground but lots of biting bugs. The water valve at the well was not working as of this review of 7/1/2024. Flowing well was flowig but there was no idication that it was safe to drink. Good T-Mobile cell phone signal with extender. The campground is elevated aove the irver, so you are not camping next to it.

Beautiful rustic pull through site with plenty of room for a tent or an RV. Awesome view overlooking the Sturgeon River. Very clean outhouse! (only 1 for all 6 campsites). Good cell service with att.

Very spacious site! Quite buggy, but not unbearable. Close to the highway so can be noisy at times.

A great home base for exploring the area. Large, easy to access and private campsites. A little noisy from traffic on H13.

Excellent campground for those seeking to be a bit more alone. Only 6 sites. The toilet was clean and always stocked. It’s a straight shot to Pictured Rocks and a beautiful drive. There is plenty to do in the region.

Its just a place to park for a night without any hook-ups. Overpriced.

Beautiful rustic site. Saw a coyote & the local owl called out bedtime & sunrise. Next time we'll bring the canoe for sure

Great trails and a beautiful hike up one side of the river and then back (8 miles) Bathrooms and showers were fabulous, new and clean.

No fault of the site or workers - but the WORST mosquitos I’ve ever experienced. Setting up our tents was horrific and we were eaten alive. Couldn’t bring ourselves to explore the area or even cook dinner on the fire because they were so bad!

Clean, quiet, small campground. Stream below had nice white noise all night. Mosquitoes were particularly numerous. Higher numbered sites have most exclusivity/privacy/set back from the road. Site 3 is directly next to the bathroom, and it was a small walk from the end of the camp loop. When I was there there were some US Forest Service rangers doing maintenance and surveying, so it is well maintained. Get a reservation. Given the number of USFS camps near here, there were a lot of folk driving through to look for First-come sites as early as 3pm in peak season (end of July/early August)

We arrived after 11pm after a long drive, it was a relief to see our last name on site 6. The camp ground is quite nice, the pit toilet was clean. The only possible downside would be early morning logging trucks on the nearby road. I would camp there again!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Flowing Well Campground in late August 2019. We stayed midweek as part of a cycling trip across the UP. We had a small motorhome which worked very well on the lot. The lot was very private and had a lovely view of the river through vegetation. There were plenty of mature trees and shade. We enjoyed walking to the artesian well. The campsite is fairly remote but was well placed for our travels. We did encounter a lot of bugs (mosquitos with some gnats/flies) which made it challenging to cook outdoors and kept us inside for most of the evening.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
