I visited in October of this year. The campsite is in excellent condition, big fire ring but there is no grate on it just FYI. The Coordinates 4603'59.6"N 8632'41.9"W give the exact location, but the maps link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fcF3MDae1JTZUPea8 also shows you exactly where you need to turn to get to the campsite. The campsite road is marked with a post with the number 4 on it. The trail is bumpy but I made it work with a FWD Sedan. If you have any kind of 4x4 or car with some clearance you'll be fine. There are neighbors nearby, the lake was calm but I could see it being louder in the warmer season with boats and the like. But this campsite is great, and big enough to accommodate multiple tents.

It was the most beautiful, quiet campsite ever! And all to ourselves! We had an amazing time. You get your own private little beach and the lake is gorgeous...absolutely loved it!

Absolutely loved our site and stay at Gooseneck! Lost our screen tent in a nasty thunderstorm that blew through, but we improvised and enjoyed our stay. Cant wait to go back!

The location was quiet and large with plenty of wood to gather for fires. The lake is gorgeous and just steps away from the camp site. The daily cost was amazingly cheap. The bathroom is rustic but at least there was a bathroom. Would definitely go back.

We had a great experience. Large space, tucked back in woods. Only note would be better signage on way in. Once we found site we enjoyed every min of our stay

A bag of trash and other debrie was left from someone prier to us arriving. We disposed of it cleaned up the site. Other than that we really enjoyed our two day stay.

Everything was great except someone that had registered the site two weeks into the future showed up. Very relaxing and beautiful.

Don't wander down the trail, if you do watch where you're walking and don't leave the trail as people have decided to use it as a bathroom. And as they can't be bothered to even walk off the trail they certainly didn't bother to mark it with a stick etc.

The previous campers left the site a mess, tons of water balloons all over beach. Otherwise I loved the size of site and great location. Coulda used a bathroom

Great site. 2nd year in a row staying here. Only complaint is there were a couple hundred cigarette butts around the area. We spent a lot of time picking up the majority of these.

This place was incredible. There was a little bit of a mess left over from some visitors before us, but nothing too bad. Just a broken bottle and some bottle caps. The water in the lake was crystal clear, the locals are friendly, and the place was easy to find. The paper map and directions are both accurate. For help getting here, you can use this location pin: 46.066566, -86.544978. Just copy and paste it into maps and you'll be very close to the road used to access the site. There was no noise and the area was quiet by 10pm each night (4 total). Lots and lots of toads and frogs! A couple swampy areas on the outskirts of the campsite made for a cool habitat to check out. I would love to go back here again. Definitely recommend doing some local kayaking and seeing grand island (45min drive).

Well let’s see, the site 04 was not labeled so I circled forever with my kids. A resident of the lake tried to help me find my site with no luck. I went down a path that said sites 2-3 to see if I could get anywhere and met some women that said that the site I was looking for was closed and should not have been rented out. I was over 400 miles from my home with 4 children with me and no where to camp in the middle of some pretty rainy weather!! I have never been more upset in my life!!! I had to drive around and find somewhere else to stay! Thank God I was able to find a place!! I couldn’t even find how to get a refund!! I will never rent from recreation.gov again!!

It's a beautiful spot but there were a bunch of 20 something year old that were camping near us and were extremely loud most of the night. Every night at 1030-11pm they got on their pontoon boat and rode around the lake most of the lake hooting and hollaring until about 3am. I'm all about having a good time, but being respectful of others.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
