My second time to this cabin. I went in July last year and the river to cross was ever so slightly lower. Honda CRV made it just fine this time around in mid May! Love this cabin. Road is so good. Sad that other building burnt though!! RIP Dog paradise.

Th8s cabin is roomy and comfortable. The nighttime temperatures were in the teens for our stay. The fire made our sleeping bags dar too warm. I finfmd the mattresses a little thin but a roll up sleeping pad fixed that. This cabin is one of our favorite stays.

Really easy. Code worked perfect. Rustic and secluded. Plenty of space to expire. 4 twin beds in the back room. Table and fireplace. Great value and beautiful area.

I don't have much to add to the other reviews, I agree with them. It is a nice quiet cabin. The stream was flowing so that made things nice for us. There was a bit more road traffic than I was expecting, but it was only a few trucks per day. One thing that I haven't see anyone else mention is that at one point on the road up to the cabin I had to drive across a stream that went across the road. I couldn't tell if it was a temporary planned diversion, some kind of overflow due to flooding, or if it's always been that way and I missed it in the details of this cabin. I don't mind driving through water, but it could cause problems for someone who goes up there and then a heavy rainfall blows through and that stream swells up. So be mindful of this if you plan on renting and the weather forecast shows rain.

Our visit/stay at the Miller Cabin was fantastic. The weather didn’t really cooperate for a day but Forest Service was great about having dry fire wood available for the rains. The landscape was beautiful, and the kids loved the outdoor setting. We all had a great time…

We stay at many forest service cabins. This is one of our favorites. The cabin is very simple and rustic and the location and scenery is spectacular! Beautiful drive in. We came in early October and the fall colors knocked our socks off!

Had to take out some dead mice. Other than that okay 👍

Great cabin. Love the new table and cabinets. Beds are new and comfortable. A few flies like any forest service cabin in the summer. It was cool enough while we were there but when its hotter it would be nice to have some screens on the windows - but realize hard to keep screens maintained. Great fire pit area. Like the gravel in the driveway to minimize a muddy emtrance. Thanks USFS.

This is a great cabin. Although it rained from the evening we arrived to about 1am the morning we left we enjoyed our quiet time inside and taking brief walks when the rain would subside. That being said, bring your own chairs as the only one of the two inside the cabin is worthy of sitting on. The other is quite wobbly. The beds were comfortable and you can really crank the wood stove to keep warm almost all night long. We didn't see any mice, but the flies are greater when you leave more wood inside. Bring in only what you will use for the night. As of June 21st the wood shed was about 2/3rds full but be sure to bring your own newspapers for fire starting. The outhouse is okay, be sure to keep the lid down for less odors. The outdoor fire pit I'm sure will be great for most, sadly we didn't get to use it. We will rent this cabin again next year for sure.

Huge cabin, sleeping room with 4 beds close to stove for warmth. Wood shed well stocked. Take a couple of camp chairs with you as there are two broken chairs inside and the other 2 are on their last legs. Also take extra light as there is only one lantern. Great quiet place to read and relax.

We had a wonderful time! Nice warm cabin once the fire was started. Comfy beds. Kids loved the dirt board. Dishes looked dirty - we always bring our own. 25 minutes down dirt road to get there - not a problem in the truck on dry roads.

Beautiful spot in an historic canyon where gold was discovered by Confederate soldiers around the end of the Civil War. The cabin was clean. The dishes, not so much. But the propane stove worked like a champ. The mining roads were a marvelous hiking experience. When it was hot and sunny, the flies outside were annoying. But clouds and then sun setting helped that. A peaceful experience.

Very peaceful. Not much traffic. Lots of roads for four wheeling. No running streams by the cabin so bring extra water for the dog. Overall a great spot.

We had this cabin late May. It was very clean and well stocked. One of the best cabins rentals we’ve had! The temperatures outside were low with a late season snow storm, but the cabin stove kept us cozy in the bedroom and the main room. Overall will definitely book again.

Nice clean cabin, not many people coming through probably due to be early in season. Enjoyed playing darts and reading others adventures in the notebooks. Didn’t see any wildlife but saw evidence of them. Road wasn’t bad getting to cabin(May ) but the creek does cross the road, wasn’t more then a foot, just go slow and easy. Due to the cabin being at intersection of 2 mountain roads I can see many people coming through in summer and the pit toilet is close to the road and looked to be used by passerby's.

My only complaint, which is very minor, is that the combination lock on the front door did not have a provided combination, so it was impossible to open the front door. The combo on the back door worked fine, so it wasn't a major issue, but it would have been nice to be able to go out the front door onto the porch.

Cabin was everything and more! Went in the middle of December and had plenty of wood stocked for us. Cabin was clean and had more supplies than anticipated. Would highly recommend and one hundred percent going back!

Cabin was in great shape. Everything there worked as needed. For the time of year.... Not a fault of anything with the cabin.... Tons of aggressive flies. Just was hot and dry. They were icky. Cabin was hot. Creek was dried up at cabin, visible water a half mile downstream, (maybe underground). Road in was insanely dusty. All this, I will stay here again. The camp spot was great, cabin great, roads great for walking, vault toilet didn't stink.

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
