The rangers were very accommodating and friendly. The facility was beautiful, and we were even surprised by a Friday evening bluegrass concert at the amphitheater by a local bluegrass band.

Great group campsite. Took my scout troop and we rented group sites 2 and 3. Good space for my group of 20, but I'm glad we booked two sites and not just one, as we would have been very cramped on a single site given our number of tents. Sites 2 and 3 work better together, as 1 is slightly separated. Good mature trees to hang some hammocks, good access to bathrooms, water, and trash. A small creek runs near the campsite on the other side of the road offering fantastic background sound at night. There is some parking right at the site, and a small parking lot very close but closer to site 1. It was very quiet and not packed the weekend we camped. Each site has one or two picnic tables, one fire ring, one grill, plus the tent pads mentioned in the details section (appx 3 large per site). We were able to pitch 3 tents comfortably on some of the larger pads, and could have probably squeezed another one on if needed. Bathrooms have toilet paper but no soap and no showers. There may be showers elsewhere in camp, but we were only there to sleep and didn't go looking. No cell service with any of the carriers. Didn't know this until we arrived, but no need to check in, just go directly to the site.

Great group site and campground. Not crazy busy like other park campgrounds. Bathrooms were in excellent condition. Thank you for the hand soap in the bathroom!! Only frustrating part was having to walk our stuff up the hill from the car. Not bad but hard for elderly campers. Thank you for all you do to provide an excellent outdoor experience!

Beautiful campground. Enjoyed our stay with our scout troop and look forward to returning someday! In regards to our stay: Knew going in that there wouldn't be any shower-rooms, but wish there was, as that would have made it a definite 5-star. We ended up spending one of our days (while in Gatlinburg), at one of those indoor waterparks, so we could get showers in. Bathrooms however were nice, well kept & well placed throughout the campground. Guardhouse was only open the day we arrived (for our 4night stay), so that was a little concerning that the in-and-out of visitors wasn't being monitored (it was kind of a dead week though in terms of campers onsite). But due to such, quiet hours on Saturday night wasn't enforced & the group next to us was there for a family reunion and was very loud; until at least midnight (quiet hours is supposed to start at 10pm). No cell service in the camp, which we knew going in, so not a complaint... just making others that might be reading this aware. There was cell service as soon as we got to the entrance of the camp though, so it's not a full blackout in the area in general. Got our certified-Firewood from Cosby's Run just outside the campground. Lady was really nice, but would recommend getting it when you see them open, because their hours were sporadic. We purchases 4 bundles for around $32-35bucks, which lasted us 2 nights (almost 3). Also, if you are booking a "Group" site and pulling a trailer (like we were for our scout troop), the only "Group" site that had a parking pad physically attached to the campsite was the "Handicap Accessible" site. Given we didn't book that site, we had a lot of back and forth walking to the trailer to get our gear, food, etc... it wasn't horrible though, just a FYI that if you HAVE-TO-HAVE your trailer close to your site that your best (although not proper) option is to book the Handicap accessible site. But again, we managed just fine having our trailer within walking distance...

Great campground. Well maintained, nice campsites, good proximity to an amazing hike (Hen Wallow Falls), and a great memory.

Beautiful, more remote, more shaded, and cooler due to elevation compared to other campgrounds in the park. Someone was accidentally in my group site, that should have been in one next to it for 1 more day. So I had to reset up my camp next day again, so only minor complaint. But I carefully chose this campground out of others for a reason, and glad I did. Worth the extra driving to the most visited places.

Cosby campsite was lovely - clean facilities, well kept campsite. Great location near AT, white water rafting, climbing, ziplining etc. The group sites had two large tent pads. I do not think it would be comfortable for a group of 20 at each of the three sites - they are not that large and share one restroom house (ladies room had three stalls) with other sites as well. It would be very crowded with that many people. Fortunately none of the three sites was full while we were there!

Our group campsite was clean. Booking was easy and check-in was easy. Trash bins were clean and easily accessible. Bathrooms were clean. The campsite was quiet and lots of trails around to hike. There was no cell phone reception which could be good or bad. Our family enjoyed having no cell phone reception for the weekend. Only downside was that the group campsites have no parking. We will visit again!

We stayed at Group Site A at the Cosby Campground. The group site has room to pitch 4 large tents or 6-8 small ones. The site included 4 picnic tables and several grills mounted together. Parking is across the road from the group campsites, so plan to haul your equipment up the hill. Parking is closest to Group Site A, and further from sites B and C. There was plenty of shade from trees, and the camp was quiet while we were there.

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
