Fall leaf colors were beautiful, really something, even right in the campground-- we must have been there on the peak days. We've stayed at Cosby many times, it is a favorite and in our closest national park.

Awesome spot. Please be aware that it has quite a bit of inclination from rear to front-will be difficult to make travel trailer level unless you are prepared to lower the front end to about 12 inches off the ground. This assumes your in a trailer of about 25ft in length.

Plenty of hiking trails and peace and quiet. Beautiful campground with large untouched trees. Bathrooms were awesome. Cosby is off the beaten path. Very secluded and just a beautiful area. The camp host and staff was awesome!

Cosby is a large remote campground. There were some RV's but mostly tenters. No generators that I heard. Limited local services; expensive firewood; no cell service for 3 miles. That said, the tulip trees are spectacular. This older CG is full of them. Site A-19 is one of the better ones in the entire CG. Most of the sites are close together with little privacy. This one has 2 sides private. There is a cutoff trail that goes thru the site. So expect the occasional rude person strutting through the middle. There is a small family cemetery 100ft beyond the site. So, don't go here on Halloween. :-)

Cosby Campground is always nice since the majority of the Gatlinburg mobs go the other way. Though the tent pads are level, and some of the parking is too, the campground as a whole is set on the side of the mountain and many of the sites have a pronounced slope so be prepared to walk up and down steps or inclines to set up camp, prepare meals, and use the facilities.

Beautiful campground. Visited in October and had almost the whole loop to ourselves. Bathrooms were clean but no soap. Park rangers were extremely kind and helpful. Lots of trails. No reception.

This is a beautiful campground! We stayed one night before our hike and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The restrooms (flush toilets and running water) were clean and well kept. The garbage dumpsters were bear proof.

Disappointed in the campsites. Not much privacy and really cater to RVs and not campers. Difficult fot older campers with limited abilities to maneuver from card to camp site(tent) without use of stairs or ramp and street parking only. We needed a site with level ground and were told we could not use an RV site although a few others with disabilities were doing the same type of camping ad us, finally had to show the host the others who were camping as we wished to and at last he allowed us our site since we have disabilities also. The camp host was very un accommodating and would not allow us to purchase our Golden age pass or discount our site. He sent us to park headquarters and they told us all camp grounds sold the seniors pass. Waste of our day, discount and time! There were very few people in Cosby at the time we were there. Just a grumpy, non helpful camp host at the registration gate. We loved Cosby but are disappointed in the lack of privacy between campsites!

We had absolutely lovely experience at the campground. Family of five, stayed for three nights, beautiful nature trail and quiet, refreshing nights. Excellent campground host and his dog Ginger. We all said hello. Clean and convenient bathrooms near the campsite. Side note. Be careful as there may be some poison ivy near site A02.

Very peaceful and quiet campground , we wanted to get away from being on top of neighbors and crowed campground with congestion and traffic .. a nice short scenic drive to hiking trails towards center of the park .. the Hosts Kathy and Mark were amazing !! We had an amazing experience at Cosby and enjoyed our privacy.. we would return to this campground in the future

The facilities were above average clean, private, quiet. Separate facilities for non electronic/ non generator made a peaceful tent experience. The rangers were among the kindest Ive encountered and there was non-obtrusive live local music on Saturday night if you wish to participate.

Not much privacy, but pretty quiet for a campground. Restrooms o.k. As is the case in national parks there is no hot water. Staff efficient and cordial.

Our stay at site A26 in Cosby Csmpground was absolutely delightful. The campsite was well-maintained and nestled in a beautiful natural setting. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the facilities were clean and convenient. We loved the spacious tent sites that provided privacy and tranquility. The nearby trails offered stunning views and great hiking opportunities. Overall, it was a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Highly recommend for anyone looking to reconnect with nature!

For those looking for a quiet camping experience in a beautiful woodland, this is a great campground. I was surprised and pleased that there was running water here.

My family and I camped at Cosby for about forty nights over the course of two months. The memories weve made here will be rich in my mind forever. We baptized my eldest son in one of the many natural pools within the creek. I called an ambulance at 3am for my infant son who was having seizures. My daughter caught probably one hundred fireflies and saved one hundred moths from death, proving time and time again shes braver than me. My children were doted upon by the Ukrainian woman who sells firewood nearby at Cosby Run, and she taught us what her terms of endearment for them meant in English. She had wisdom to share. We drove through the national park and witnessed thirteen black bears, fulfilling a dream from three years ago. On the Fourth of July, I drove my husband to the ER so he could receive fourteen stitches where a hatchet had momentarily laid. God gave me opportunity to pray for a grieving mother searching for her son. Our tent endured multiple high intensity storms. We witnessed people of all kinds and they witnessed us. I both love and hate Cosby. Its a beautiful campground with lots of snakes near the womens bathrooms. The B loop is way better than the A loop (although there is one choice spot). The humidity is fine, enjoy the cover of the trees, stop complaining, be sweaty, its fine. You can gather the wood but buy it from Galena instead. I think the ranger is tired but he wasnt mean. If you love Jesus youll find joy here. God bless Cosby.

A20 was a gorgeous campsite. Easy to back in and setup our pop-up, and a creek right next to the site for the kids to play in. Not crowded next to neighboring campsites. Short walk to the bathrooms.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
