We ended up trading site 17 for site 16, which was on the river and HUGE. Beautiful trees, great shade and direct river access. The river was very cold and moving fast but wonderful to listen to and sit by. There are many trails just a short drive away from the campground and so many little lakes for great day trips also just a drive away. The campground itself was clean and spacious, not slammed in on top of other people. Our camp host Stewie and his sweet doggie Gerty were very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about the area and we looked forward to chatting with them daily when they did their rounds.

This is a gorgeous and quiet campground. Lots of trails nearby for ATV and dirt bike users - but also some really lovely ones for people who prefer hiking. It's right near the river, and the views and sense of the forest is amazing. Rustic, but a perfect place to get away from it all!

Reservation signage woefully out of date. Host not there much. He had monster dog who barked when anyone walked by. Very little hiking there..Long drive in not really worth it. North Fork C.G. much better and closer to hwy 12. l

Where to begin, our camping host was clueless. Rarely at the campground. His dogs wasnt the friendliest nor was he. Saturday morning smoke from all the wild fires was coming through the campgrounds my husband and a few other campers went to talk to the host and the host had zero information and that he had to go in to town to find out. Randle is 56 minutes away. So 90 minutes to get information back to anyone. It should be a mandated that all host have 2 way radios out there or something. No it wasnt from our campfires. Because there was a burn ban. My next complete there was Zero Alerts on the website that we couldnt have fires. It would have been nice to know that we couldnt have fires before we left. So we could have planned for it! Yes we checked! Totally understand on why. There should been alert on the website. Been going to Adams forks for years and never have I been this disappointed.

Love the sound of the river! Beautiful forest, peaceful campground, well maintained.

We arrived on Monday afternoon and departed on Thursday afternoon. During this time we saw our camp host(s) twice. Once when they checked the garbage late (after dark) on our first night, and again on Thursday when they checked the restroom. The first time they were playing loud music and appeared intoxicated. The second time they put TP in the restroom and left. They were always absent. Told by other campers they do a lot of kayaking. They never spoke to us or our neighbor in the next site the 3 1/2 days we were there. Very few amenities at this park and currently no present camp host to ask/answer questions or take care of issues.

Lovely campground, however the host was not doing a good job of maintaining the restrooms.

The campsites were nice. Clean, pretty quiet, and will maintained. Valut toiles were clean. A few items to consider. 1) There is not much to do at this campground. No real river access. No hiking trails from the campground. 2) The camp hosts were pretty sketchy ad gave off a negative vibe. They also had very loud dogs that barked whenever anyone passed the camp host campsite on the road. They did nothing to discourage this behavior. 3) The water from one of the two campground hand pumps has a rust color tint. The other was just fine. We had a nice 3-day weekend there but would not go back.

Very busy campsite in summer months, campsites tend to get overcrowded. Very beautiful area otherwise.

Great overall experience. Always enjoy this campground. The one drawback this time was that there was no firewood for sale.

Large spacious campsites under tall old-growth trees. Campsites #20 and up are open to the river, but also to each other. Many other campsites are more isolated and private with trees and undergrowth separating them. The camp hosts keep the restrooms immaculate and smelling good. Oddly, the campground has no bear-proof dumpsters, but I never saw the trash cans had been broken into by anything. There are many excellent first-come-first-served campsites. The approach to the campground from the town of Randle is fully paved, though it does narrow to one lane with pullouts for the last stretch.

Pros: the campsites were spacious, shady and the restrooms were clean. Some reviews stated garbage was not available, but we found there were garbages. Thank goodness! Con: the water level was way too high to allow our children/ adults to play in the nearby river to cool off and we had to drive quite a ways to arrive at Mossyrock park to find a place we could swim. Otherwise it’s a great spot! Small campground with a water pump and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay.

Great, clean, quiet campground with beautiful location next to the river. Hosts kept the place super clean. But long distance to great hiking and the roads were in poor shape in places, especially between Takhlakh and Killeen Creek trailhead.

Pristine location in the heart of Mt Adams wilderness! The best mountain air, with cedar flavor, very quiet and peaceful. Camping sites are huge, most of them, with room for more than one tent (ours could easily fit 4-5). For best hike I would recommend Council Bluff Trail, about 10-20 miles away depending on route (some on dirt roads), but with spectacular views. The camping has static toilets (single) with no running water, and water is available from the river on hand pump from what I could see, so definitely on the wild side, but worth the nature side of it (watch for the chipmunks, cute, cuddly and fast on food, no other wildlife around).

The location was beautiful. But the one glaring flaw with the campground was that there was no way to dispose of your garbage! I've never seen a National Parks campground that didn't supply a means of disposing of your garbage! Normally a "pack out" rule is only applied to walk in tent sites. We only stayed at the campground 2 out of the 4 days we had reserved because living with the garbage 5 people created and trying to stash the garbage bags in our vehicles was getting old. And the hoard of chipmunks were starting to get aggressive.

Awesome campground, close to pristine lakes, views and rivers. The trees are huge, offering lovely shade and shelter for large campsites. ORV folks are quiet and respectful. Campground host is wonderful!!

The campground is lovely and well maintained by the host. The bathroom have hardly any ventilation, so the chemicals they use to clean is so intense that it actually huts the lungs to go in for more than two breaths. Some of the sites are reeeeeally close together, with no privacy between sites. The sites along the river felt more like a massive group site, rather tna individual sites. Fortunately everyone was really respectful. The area is beautiful! We'd consider returning for a stay.

Cool river nearby, good access to Mt. St. Helens, kids loved biking the loop. Some campsites are a little close, but great place overall

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
