Camping in a forest of mostly pines with a lake view is a pleasant experience.

This is an amazing campground. The sites are spacious, the restrooms were clean (could use a little updating, but perfectly functional and clean). The park staff was super friendly and helpful and the location was nice if you needed to get to town, but secluded enough to be, well, camping. We could hear trains in the distance but it didn't really bother me because it's in the distance, not nearby. I would recommend this campground to anyone needing a place to camp in the area.

The bathhouses really need an upgrade.

Nice campground. The camp hosts were great. Very nice waterfront sites with lots of room! The bathhouse was clean, but the fixtures were rusty (but functioned just fine). We had about 50 black vultures roosting in trees around our campsite for a couple of days, then they disappeared. They are quiet birds, just a little creepy. We would come again.

We really like Whitetail Ridge campground. We have stayed there 3 times in the past 4 years, in the same site (29). The host that greeted us at the gate on the afternoon of March 7 , was extremely welcoming and helpful. As we came back to the campground after the first session of the Azelea Storytelling Festival (the reason we were there), he was looking for those of us who had attended that event and making sure we were safely back. I felt very cared for and appreciate his attentiveness. However, the following night, after the Festival we rushed back from LaGrange College and arrived at the gate at 9:58 only to find it locked. Thankfully, the other camp host was still there. He reluctantly opened the gate for us, but humphed at me when I thanked him. We felt very unwelcome.These festivals are annual trips for us, and we look forward to hearing great stories and staying in great campgrounds. Whitetail Ridge is the only campground we have ever felt rushed to get to after a storytelling session, and we have never felt like an imposition to camp hosts at another campground.

Absolutely love this campground. Only negative I would give has nothing to do with the campground itself, but more of a complaint about a fellow camper who dumped his smelly fish parts in the lake near our campsite. We endured a pleasurable smell of dead and rotting fish for the remainder of the day/night...

Great visit as always.

Lovely campground, sites nicely spaced for privacy. Site 9 has a handful of steps down from driveway to tent pad, picnic table, and fire ring (with handrail). Electric/water at end of driveway. Lakeshore just a few steps further down hill, but far enough away that people fishing from shore don't intrude on campsite. Restroom just a short walk up the road across from site 4, but shower houses in other loop & at entrance - so may want to drive there! Lots of downed wood around for fires. Convenience store 3-5 miles away.

I needed a one night stop enroute, convenient to the highway, and this was a great choice.

We absolutely loved this campground, it had the best lake views. The Couple that greeted us at the gate upon arrival and departing were super kind and friendly.We will definitely be back!

Check in was easy. We arrived late back to camp one night and we planned to just park outside the locked gait and walk in but the camp attendant noticed us and let us in. Nice quiet and friendly environment.

This is our favorite Corps campground. We have never had a problem and have always been treated nicely by the staff.

This is very nice campground with nice hosts. Most lots are shaded. Nice little hiking trail around it. The lake is low this time of year (October) but still a nice campground. Weve stayed here several times and will keep coming back.

Site 10 is one of our favorites. Large and private waterfront site. Westpoint Lake levels were SO low this time. Very disappointing. Fishing from the bank was impossible due to the extreme low lake levels. But.we will always come bac!

Very nice and clean campground with the greatest hosts you could ever ask for. Beautiful nights for camp fires and outstanding sunrises and sunsets over the lake. Enjoy walking or biking and exploring the park. Fishing and boating with the family and friends are always fun.

Site # 7 - good shade in August. Water accessible. Not too far to walk to the restrooms. Does have steps to the firepit area if that is a concern for future campers. Marking this as a favorite spot.

Loud music every morning. Sometimes before quiet time ended. Reported to camp host, but apparently didnt matter. People also driving to fast.

Lost power for about 3 hours site 39 and all that were around us. Still had a great time as we always do love the feel of the smaller park.

First time at Whitetail Ridge. I like the layout of the Campgrounds. The camp Hosts were nice and polite. I had to break camp and leave due to an onslaught of ants. I learned much since how to protect my camper from those pests. But, I couldn't stay. I will however try again in a different climate.

My site was perfect for my friends for a day and night and then my granddaughter came for the rest of the week! Just she and I before school started!

Very nice lake with conveniently located campsites. However, the past two times weve stayed here weve been inundated with ants

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
