We love spots 3/4 very private especially if you have kids. Can park boat in water below and swim

We stayed at Old Highway 41 #3 in August 2023. We had pre-selected a site on the water so we were very happy with the site. The pad and fireplace were clean when we arrived. It is a fair walk to the bathroom, so we would talk the car. The host was there to greet us which was very nice.

The restrooms could be cleaner. But it really is a nice place. Wish it stayed open year round!

The site was level for the camper, and easy to access. There was good access to the lake as well.

Stayed at this campground for a week. Easy to get to 75 and located near the wonderful town of Acworth which offers anything you might need, including fabulous restaurants, only minutes away. The attendants were very helpful and friendly. The park is asphalt and well kept. There is a play park and a basketball court. There are several boat ramps. I stayed at 3 different sites, and many are on the lake with wonderful views. Sites 6-13 are going to have some highway noise. We stayed in 9 a few nights. Sites 21-25 are my favorite; they are on the water in a No Wake zone so you have the water and not a lot of noise. We stayed in 21 a few nights and this would be my first choice upon returning. Site 39 was one we stayed at one night in between our other two sites. The description claims it will hold a 32 foot rig but my 28ft trailer was more than I liked in this space. It is a pull through, but between the trees on the driver side and the drop off of the asphalt driveway on the passenger side, it makes it tricky to get in. Their are stairs down to the picnic area and tent pad of the site that I would imagine are difficult for little kids or elderly folks. If your rig has the door at the front, the layout might not be as much of a problem. Ours is at the back and made our specific scenario probably a bigger issue than most. If you have a 24ft trailer or smaller, or are in a tent or RTT, this site would be nice.

Easy to back in (there are trees so night time would be difficult) with a long driveway for ample parking. Site 21 has it's own little cove with a trail to the water. Bank fishing or accessing the water with a kayak would be excellent here.

We have a 30' Class A motorhome and we were pulling our car on a tow dolly. We were in site 48, which is a pull through, and it was long enough for both, as we did not unhook. In addition, my daughter visited and was able to park her vehicle in front of the motorhome. The site was not level, needed to address that, and when exiting the motorhome there was a bit of a drop off. The view was incredible. The site has an almost unobstructed view of the lake. Site 47 is also a pull through, although it doesn't appear that way on the campground map. That site would also support our Class A and tow vehicle, however, the view is obstructed, it's a great spot though as it has a ton of shade. That campground is beautiful with, for the most part, lots of space between spots. There're also buddy spots at the campground. We would definitely stay again. Henry's Louisiana Grill in Acworth is about 3 miles away. Very, very good food.

We stayed on site 6. It was the perfect distance away from other campers and was only a few steps away to the lake.

We have stayed at this campground many times. We love it here. The campground is beautiful, and the lake is excellent. I only wish that there was a way to get in after 10:30.

If you enjoy views of I75 and the constant deafening sound of traffic, this site is for you. If it's peace and quiet in nature you're after, stay far away from this campground. We literally had to yell over the traffic to talk to each other during the day and a box fan + earplugs were no match to drowning out the noise all night. Worst "camping" experience I've ever had.

I very much enjoyed my time at this campground and specifically this site! It was a beautiful view from the site and even inside my tent. The lady and gentlemen running the area were very friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. I'll definitely be back!

Great campsite! Quiet and peaceful place on the water. Host were friendly and welcoming.

We love this campground even though everyone says it isn't one of the popular Corp of Engineer campgrounds on Lake Allatoona. The drawbacks are that is it VERY close to interstate 75 and depending on which sites you choose, you will hear a lot of traffic noise and the campground doesn't seem to get as much TLC as some of the other Corp. campgrounds. Smaller campground so a little less crowded. I do wish it opened earlier than mid May and would stay open at least through October. We miss some prime camping in September and October!

The site was great. I was there for 3 nights and absolutely loved it!… the water from the lake was perfect, my site was secluded so we had had plenty of privacy.. there was also a duck that greeted us and also returned to say goodbye.. The staff was very friendly and knowledge..

Fabulous campgrounds. But bring leveling blocks as you may need them. Great Ranger Station personnel. Most sites have a view of the lake several have direct water access for kayaks and wading. But bring your water shoes as it’s rocky and they are sharp.

This is the place to be if you like to kayak! I love paddling under the bridges.

This was our maiden voyage in our new camper, and my wife and I loved it! The place was very clean and the older couple was absolutely fantastic. There's a couple of VERY tight turnarounds on the end of some of the loops, made worse by the location of trees. We were cutting it close with a 29ft TT, so longer rigs beware. We will absolutely be back!
@MicheleB218058 · Camped on Aug 11, 2022 at Campsite #7
Site number 7 was very long so our 36 foot travel trailer and truck fit lengthwise. However, there was a tree right next to the entry on one side and there was a significant drop off next to the narrow pavement access to the site. To compound the problem, the entry road opposite the site had a VERY significant drop off next to the pavement. Therefore, it was VERY difficult to get into the site. We had to make the camper tires drop off next to the pavement for the site access and make several attempts to even get in which was very nerve wracking. The site had so much highway noise from the bridge crossing the lake just opposite our campsite that I got very little sleep even with ear plugs and a pillow over my head. The gate being closed from 10:30-7 is very annoying. The area corps of engineers campgrounds should update to what most campgrounds have that close a gate and provide key cards for anytime access. Not everyone operates on the same schedule. In addition, leaving gave us another unexpected challenge. The gate guard told us at check-in that we could exit the site and turn around via a cul de sac at the end of the road and head back toward the exit. UGH!! The cul de sac was so small we had to do numerous forward and backward repositionings to get around it. We are experienced travel trailer and other large trailer haulers and still had all this trouble. I don't know how an inexperienced camper pulling anything longer than 20 feet would have done it without damage. Be aware if you are reading this...I always am very specific about our lengths and needs when I call a campground before making a reservation and the person said it would be fine. If you have a longer RV, this is likely not the place for you.

This campground, while beautiful and well laid out, has some less than “fun” attributes: Many of the campsites have oddly angled access ways, and the power (electric hook-ups) may need updating. We utilized two campsites and the 30 amp outlets were non functional in one site, and “blinky” in the other. The hosts were great, but the campground staff could have kept up with the shower/bath houses a bit better. All in all, we recommend this campground and will likely stay there or at another in the system on Lake Allatoona.

Beautiful campground. Make sure you have good directions. It’s a little hard to find!

Liked the campground but arrived at 10:00 pm. Was difficult parking due to windy, hilly road through the campground. Would recommend arriving before dark. The park attendant was very rude to us. Yelling at us more than once. Throwing his arms up at us. Going on and on at us. Won't be back.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
