First time staying in a forest service cabin. Two families of five for 2-1/2 days. Arrived around 3:30 as we wanted to make sure to arrive during the daylight. No guarantee of those before us cleaning up so we came prepared with Lysol wipes and cleaned all surfaces. So glad to have those. Large table that sat 5 on each side. Many games played throughout the two days. Lots of mosquitoes so was thankful for the indoors. So nice to have the propane stove to cook our dinners and breakfast on. Was surprised to find cabinets full of coffee mugs, misc plates, silverware, bowls, etc. Would still bring your own unless you dont care about hygiene in the backwoods. Its pretty difficult to handwash items well since were bringing our own water up. We brought up three 5 gal water containers and a few gallons and almost ran out after 2-1/2 days. Beds were super comfortable. Although we all had sleeping bags we brought a cover sheet for each mattress for extra hygiene. Only one separate sleeping room with a full bed; otherwise, one big sleeping room with all the other beds so not much privacy for a large group. We made due and it worked out just fine! Was pleasantly surprised how nice the outhouse was. Clean, plenty of tp and not smelly. Not too far of a walk from the cabin. Had brought lanterns and used them to walk between the two after dark. There was a cabinet full of games but we had brought our own so never used what was there. So thankful for the time to unplug and enjoy Gods creation with great friends!

The cabin is in a beautiful area with a creek close by. There are plenty of sleeping areas and a living room to hangout in. The guests before us did not clean or wipe down anything so come prepared with wipes and cleaning supplies.

Wonderful experience at Anna Creek Cabin. Was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped for our three (3) night "off-the-grid". The propane lights actually work well as heaters too taking off the chill in the early am. Beds were surprisingly comfortable (lower bunk beds). Outhouse was nice. Our dogs enjoyed themselves but likely kept critters (bears, cats, etc.) away. Suggest bring an axe if you plan to make a fire. We did see a LYNX on the road; very special. Enjoy!!p.s. emergency cell service (ATT) is available 6 miles north, past Lakeview campground.

Love it! About 5 miles back to the water access. Anna creek right down the driveway on the R. Look for a little trail down to a little board to gather water. Highly recommended for peace and quite. Only the occasional car driving buy.

Mice! Had to leave a day early! Mouse droppings on the cleaning supplies. Hole in the bedroom floor.

We found the cabin to be a fantastic winter experience, a wood stove for heat would be the only thing that could possibly improve the amenities. Mainly to expedite the drying of gear.

Heaters worked great. Loved the cabin. 2 nights almost wasn't enough.

We enjoyed a quiet retreat at Anna Creek cabin, with beautiful views of the snow capped mountains and forest all around!! It was a great place to unwind, read, and enjoy a camp fire together. The cabin is an ideal place for families to get together, with ample sleeping space and large kitchen and dining area. Remember to bring plenty of water for both drinking and washing up dishes, etc. (We were fortunate to find that someone had left water on site.) The last 14 miles of road is gravel with some washboards and pot holes, so a leisurely pace is recommended. We are grateful for the USFS cabins!!!! Outside toilet was well maintained. Would recommend cutting the few bushy saplings that have grown up east of the beautiful fire ring area, for enjoyment of the Mountain View’s as well as the campfire. Thank you!!!!!!

Beautiful cabin and senery!!! But, don't be suprise by bumping roads to get there. If you get there at night, you might think it's a creepy place and that could scared the crap out of you. Better, if you plan to get there before it gets dark. More days there would be better to explore the areas around. Overall, this place is great!

Great cabin! Its huge with plenty of space for parking outside and plenty of space inside. Its multiple rooms, all of which have propane lights and heaters(the heaters work very well). Also if anyone is wondering you do not need to bring propane, it is provided. There are some mattresses in the cabin, you just need to bring your own bedding. Its about 20 miles of rough dirt road to the cabin, 4x4 isn't necessary, its just full of holes but most cars should be fine if you drive slow.

Absolutely fantastic/breathtaking. It seems they've completed the updates/upgrades to the cabin as it's far from a work in progress now... brand new, plush couches, relatively comfortable mattresses (those that have stayed in similar cabins know the bar can be low!), and an absolutely breathtaking view of the reservoir and surrounding mountains. I was ready to book my next stay here after the very first night, it was fantastic. Oh, and finally for those concerned about the unpaved portion of the road... I can see it being a bit treacherous in rainy season, and it does have some potholes, but even after aiming for every single one in our rental crossover it still had no issues... bottom line, it might get a bit rougher depending on weather but I saw several locals rip buy in compact/4 door cars, and especially I wouldn't worry about taking a rental car of any kind down it.

Excellent views from the living room and dining area, early morning is the best. The road is very close and there is a lot of traffic and dust. We actually made a game of guessing which way the vehicles were traveling! Five stars for the nice clean vault toilet! A propane fridge (like at Fairview Ranger Station) would up my cabin rating to five stars. A little mouse gave us big trouble :)

heaters did not work, lights put out some heat, until the co2 detector went off. Fire pit was the warmest place to be. We paid for two nights but only stayed for one.

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
