Site 77 has a very large parking area. My trailer took up about half of the width. This is a double site and has two picnic tables and bear boxes. The water is just off the site which is nice being able to walk down to enjoy it. There is a spigot right across from the site and the bathroom and dumpster just a short walk. The site was clean and raked when I arrived which was a nice touch.

The Worst camping experience ever. It was all due to the rudest camp host. He is not approachable or helpful at all. He told us we can pick up and leave within an hour of us arriving just because my husband wanted to ask him a question. We were not loud we had the lights off and everything he demanded. Makes me and the rest of my family and friends to never book there again.

Good location to access the lake - however our campsite had this foul smell coming from potta potty.

Very nice locations with wide spots and nearby lake. Hiking paths. Clean bath houses. Reachable hosts.

We stayed at #69. Beautiful campsite right next to the water but beware everyone walks through your site to get to the water. No privacy. We had 2 different big groups just walk right through our site.

Very busy family resort with many children and electric vehicles.

The campsites were limited due to eagle nesting which allowed for much peace and quiet during our stay. The rangers had a talk on nature which was informative.

Great facility. Will return.

The showers were horrible. Barely any water pressure. The showers stole about 6$ from us. Fashoda has better ones. The site I got after being moved due to the bald eagles was horrible full sun til it got dark. Will never go to this site again.

Garbage pick frequency must be increased. By Sunday the containers are full and the bears are having a feast.

The lake and the campground were superb! So peaceful and lovely to swim or paddle. I wish we had brought our small sailboat. The hike to Bassi Falls is a must!

Spot 67 is one of the best sites. Close to the shore and just the right distance to toilets and water. There are a few steps from the pad down to the campsite. Hosts are nice and park is pretty clean. Water is high at time of review so not much shoreline. Lots of down trees and branches that I wish were cleaned up.

Love the area. Recently renovated facilities. Camp hosts were friendly. Was in a motorhome so didnt use the showers or restrooms.

I was at site 86 and it was very beautiful, with a great view of the reservoir. The location of the site was perfect for day trips hiking at Bassi Falls and Robbs hut. The water spigot was very close to my campsite and the restrooms not too far away. It was a busy holiday weekend at the campsite and sometimes the restrooms ran out of toilet paper. The coin operated showers were nice and convenient. Would definitely stay here again!

Had a great time. I stayed in an RV, so I didn't hear it, but others in tents complained a little bit about excessive noise around 3am on a couple nights from neighboring campsites. It was memorial weekend so I get the partying, so no issue to me. Be careful on the spots you pick if you have a larger RV. Mine is 35 total feet, and I could see it being a little tight if I didn't get the site that I did. It's not necessarily the site itself, it's the road leading to your site that's lined with logs and rocks that makes the backing in process a little tough. They do have a dump station in the campgrounds near the entrance, and as of when I went it was $10 per rv and they take card. Overall great experience. We'll be back for the 4th!

Love Sunset Peninsula Campground!

Sunset campground was a hidden gem! We had a spacious, beautiful and mostly shaded campsite. Camp host was very helpful. Short walk down to the lake with a beautiful sandy beach. Campsite 31 was near the entrance/exit but it was fairly quiet. We did hear a bear at night so keep everything in the bear box. The kids did not like drop toilets but they were clean. The Vesi waterfalls were a must do. We are planning to come back!!

If you love privacy, pines and travel with dogs or a group of family members, reserve space #33 in Meadow Loop. Abundant shade with spots of sunshine provides a peaceful retreat. A very large site, it is a short walk to paid showers and a beautiful, huge mountain lake. We camped in a motorhome so didn't use restrooms. Very nice boondocking experience. Dump station provided and water spigots. Fire ring in this site was not close to our rig. Site was clean, well kept, picnic table in good shape. We had a super experience here tucked away from neighbors. 5 stars definitely for #33; the road in from Hwy 50 however was a high elevation, white knuckler for me but I'm squeamish I guess as my husband barrels along unphased.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
