Sooo happy pump has been serviced and useable this year by women! And the new corrals are wonderful to use!

Sheep Springs Horse Camp offers great trails, like riding down to the Metolius river or the trail to Bear Valley. Because it is fairly low elevation it's great for early summer or fall camping and riding. Site 10 worked well for our LQ though some stumps made it just slightly tricky to pull out. The new steel horse corrals are very nice. The only downside to this site is that the corrals are in direct sun a good part of the day so we wished we'd brought a sunshade. The water pump at the camp entrance was working fine and the restrooms were kept clean by the camp host. Sadly, the last few miles of road to the camp are full of potholes, ruts and washboard, so be prepared to drive very slowly.

Becky (hope I have that right) was an amazing host. The place was great right down to the bathrooms. NIce shade and great graze in the meadow for the horses. And the water tastes good even though you have to pump it...

PERFECTLY WELL MAINTAINED WITH GREAT STALLS, CLEAN BATHROOMS AND AMAZING TRAILS. THE PUMP STILL DRAWS INCREDIBLE WATER. TOO BAD WE HAD TO LEAVE BECAUSE OF APPROACHING FIRES

Great camp, nice trails and beautiful scenery. I will definitely be going back in the future.

The camp is very nice and there werent many people there the two nights we stayed. The trails were in great shape. The only downsides were tons of yellow jackets in camp and the old water pump is quite a workout!

I was very disappointed that the manure pit was full and that the cargo container wasn't accissible to use since people didn't go to the front of the container to dump . The host was lazy and didn't enforce the dogs on leash rule either.

This is a beautiful rustic horse camp. It is well maintained (thanks Oregon Equestrian Trails!). There were a couple of parties camping there that did not have any stock animals. That's always frustrating, as there aren't as many campgrounds available for stock users as for non-stock users.

Sheep Springs is a primitive camp but it's a beautiful location and has multiple trail opportunities from the campground. Bring your own water if you want to avoid using the pump (which takes full body weight to pump).

The hostess was awesome the campground was nice and clean

best feature is the shaded sites and great log stalls. Worse feature is the distance you have to go to hand pump the water for the corrals. Several faucets would make it a perfect "10" as a horse camping experience.

Other than having a mama bear and her 3 yearling 150 lb cubs come through the camp at 1am and knocking over the garbage (it was locked) dumpster, it was wonderful. The other campers/ riders were all friendly as was the camp host. Rides were fun and the trails were cleared.

Fantastic camp host, Dani. Kept bathroom clean & well stocked. Knowledgeable about trails. Very fun time.

The sites were clean and the camp host, Danny, was very helpful in showing us maps of the area. The big bin manure container was full but we used the old pit. The rest rooms were clean.

Sheeps Springs Horse Camp was very clean and quiet and full.

Good host good access to good trails. Trails clear and usable. Map at sign board with trails/roads would be helpful at all camps. Corral rails broken and rotten. Need replaced. Corrals muddy. Some gravel under mud thankfully. Mud is bad for hooves.

The first day someone came by and offered us a shovel to clean out the stalls on our check in day. The stalls at site 8 were muddy, full of manure and muck and hay. Not dry enough to use. After a lot of scraping and a sunny day, no so bad. I thought that part of what we pay for is clean stalls and the monitoring of folks when they are ready to go, to clean them out with the host's supervision or the host doing it. Just wondering. Sad to say some campers are slobs.

Thank you. Spent four days exploring. Had a blast.

Cleanest restrooms and the camp was very well cared for by host Dannie.
@SarahD695 · Camped on Aug 20, 2021 at Campsite #4
Great camp, with lots of fun trail options. Bathroom was very clean. We really appreciated the camp hosts knowledge of the trails. We would camp here again. Only minus was hand pumping water and hauling it to the horses.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
