I love this campground, but dont stay in site 29. I dont normally leave reviews but I had to leave this site after a few minutes of walking around it due to the overwhelming smell of sewage. I wish I had been warned, but I wasnt, I could not stay in this site and had to leave. So, now you know. Lots of other great sites, love the lake.

Great for watercraft-not as much for wading but ok for swimming if it's a hot day. A lot of the water & shoreline near the campsite is shaded.We came here to see the Perseid meteor shower and were not disappointed!Only downsides were no campfires and the smoke from nearby forest fires.Great hosts, clean facilities, and not too many people there.

Campground was cleaner this year than in year's past. Toilet cleaned more often with enough TP as well. Garbage was overloaded, seemed like they needed an extra pickup. Roads still need to be improved and the original "No Picnicing" sign always makes us laugh. Nothing to do with camping, but I think they need to put buoys our along the side of the lake to separate motor boats from kayakers, SUPs as it seemed a little dangerous in the middle of the lake.

I loved this campground! The proximity of the lake to the campsites on that side is wonderful, and the sites further away had lots of space to spread out and enjoy the peace of the woods! I feel like the road noise was pretty nonexistent and the silence at night was so wonderful. The camp hosts were so kind and lovely as well- they helped one of our group with some light first aid and looked out for me to make sure I was comfortable being alone once the rest of my friends had to head back into town. Highly recommend!

Love Suttle Lake, weather was amazing. Love the access to the lake from this site. It was clean and the bathrooms were well maintained.

Very beautiful campground adjacent to the lake. Very kind and helpful campground hosts. Close enough to the lodge to enjoy it but far enough away to not hear it. Would definitely recommend for families and anyone looking for some scenic getaway. Only downside is the proximity to the road does bring some noise but it didnt bother me. It may some

South Shore is a wonderful campground with so many great campsites, proximity to the water, and fantastic camp hosts. We took advantage of the connecting bike trails and rode to Camp Sherman, enjoyed ice cream and lemonade at the Boathouse, played in the water, and relaxed at the campsite.

First of all, the location is nice with the water so close. Great location for summer water activities. We appreciated that half the lake is for motor boats while the other half is for paddle sports. A few things about this particular site, it does not have a paved driveway and also does not have shade. In the afternoon, it is a full sun spot. Another huge deturent for us was the amount of large trash cans around. We appreciate being about to throw away our trash but having 20+ at one campground was a lot. We were not able to enjoy our site because even though the cans were at least 100 yards away, the breeze brought the smell right to us.

Really terrific campground - sites are huge and fairly separate from each other - we snagged two right along the lake (June) - lots of recreation options right there too.

Shuttle Lake is a beautiful lake and this campground is very nice. We had spots 17, 18 and 9. All three were lake front and had beautiful views. 17 and 18 are really big flat spaces. They are nice for spreading out with a big group. There is a mix of trees for shade but the spaces are pretty open. Space nine is also very beautiful and has more tree coverage. It is not as large as the others. We noticed that space 19 next to us has zero shade or trees. I would say to avoid that space if it's a super hot weekend and you are tent camping. Also note that this lake can be super windy at times. Getting out on the lake in the morning or evening is best to avoid the wind. The Lodge is not too far and you can get there on the trail along the lake. It is a really nice lodge with food and drinks options.

We have stayed in South Shore three times but this is our first time in the 013 spot. We loved it! The view of the lake and the arrangement of the camp space made it the perfect spot for us. The position of the restrooms, garbage, wastewater and freshwater was perfect relative to the spot. We will be back.The only negative had nothing to do with the campsite. The heat and smoke during our stay put a little damper on our fun.

Suttle Lake is one of our favorite camping spots and the campsites we have stayed at here have all been very good. The only negative is the condition of the roads in the campgrounds. They are broken and full of potholes, some very deep.

Wonderful camping, private on lake side. Aside from the constant yellow jacket attacks I would have given it 5 stars. As soon as our food came out the bees were full throttle. We did NOT have this issue in 2022. Someone needs to find the bee hives.
@HeatherS702716 · Camped on Aug 3, 2023 at Campsite #7
Many trees have been removed from several campsites. I understand the need when trees are sick or a hazard. It would be really nice if a replanting effort was made. Some sites now have no shade at all. Others have no privacy. Another suggestion would be to flatten out at least one tent spot in each site. Last, when people make a reservation and then dont show up there should be a forfeit process such as a 24 hour limit. Many of the best sites were vacant for our entire stay and meanwhile we could not change. Camp host was very kind and helpful.

The South Shore camp hosts, Rockie and Dianna, are two of the finest hosts I have ever encountered. I have been camping at Suttle lake for 60 years.

Beautiful lake! Slow fishing this time of year. Nice trail along the lake.

Diana and Rockie were the very best camp hosts we have ever experienced at Suttle Lake, South Shore. The level of customer service was outstanding. Each time someone vacated their spot they made sure the space was spotless. Never were bathrooms untidy or stinky. Weve camped up there for the past 10 years or so, and this year was the best by far, and Diana and Rockie were the reason! Super friendly and always welcoming.

We reserved site 9, which is described as an 80-foot pull-through. Sounded great for our 23-foot camp trailer. However, when we arrived we were dismayed to find that the site was possibly the least level site we've ever seen, and that there were two trees leaning left and right into the site, which would have made it pretty much impossible to maneuver our trailer in. And had we been able to get into the site, I'm guessing that the left and right trailer wheels would have been at least a foot out of level. Since I had left the backhoe at home, the site wasn't gonna work. Luckily for us, the campground wasn't full, so we found a site which wasn't reserved, and moved there. The new site wasn't lakeside, but at least we could get in, and minimal leveling was required. Cleared our move with the very friendly camp host, who confirmed that our new site wasn't reserved. I would humbly suggest that the site description at least admit that it's not at all level, and that there could be overhead limitations because of the inward leaning trees.

This is a great location. Water was available, the sites were large and clean. There was no firewood available at the camp ground, but the Boathouse a mile a way had some. It was rather windy and something I'll pay attention to in the future. There's no place to dump here either so be aware of that.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
