There were many resevered sites that did not show up for the week I wish there was a way to notify cancellation and make it available for others who want a site on short notice

The camp host was so friendly we have encountered some in the past at different locations that have made us not want to return. The camp hosts here let the people camp. I really liked that. Someone had logged in the sites we had and we were told didnt finish the job so logs were down right where the best tent sites would be. Our sites were overgrown and needed some TlC otherwise it was a good experience. Fishing was good. Loved the trail to Shelter Cove.

Pretty Smokey from OR fires. Still managed to get some Kokanee.

Our family did not use the Trapper Creek campground that we reserved becuae of the fire and heavy smoke. Several in our family have health issues and the smoke was too heavy from the Red Wildfire.We did end up at Lost Lake (aka mosquito Lake) Campground and have a wonderful family get together. We did ask for and received a refund on our Trapper Creek campground site fees.Thanks! The Bolden-Fleming-Mace-Toepfer families

Unfortunetly we could not stay at Trapper Creek campground because of the heavy smoke from the Red Wild Fire. Several people in our group are compromised with health issues and we had a 2 y/o and could not use the campground because of the heavy smoke. We did find a campground farther north, Lost Creek Campground, it too was slightly smokey but it c leared up and we stayed there for our 4 day family trip. I have contacted The Crescent Lake Ranger and have asked for a full refund for the charges on space 22 and space 28 at Trapper C reek campground. If someone reviews this comment please forward this to the Crescent Lake Distric t Ranger. Thanks

I cant wait to go back & spend longer! Very very old camp ground. Id say 75 years old. The landscaping all there the camp is just amazing! Ooooooo & ahhhh around every corner as I found my spot! Its right on the PCT & I talked to the hikers! I just loved my whole experience there.

Halfway through our camping trip they wouldnt let us have a fire. Very cold and wet. Forest service is getting worse each year putting more restrictions and earlier restrictions. Soon you wont even get to have a fire. Trapper creek on Odell lake is a wetter location then others and should have its own individual restrictions placed on it based on the realities at the site, not based on the conditions 20 miles to the east where it is dryer and hotter.

Trapper Creek is one of our favorite campgrounds! We love the campsites along the creek and the lush western forest vegetation. It is a 5 minute walk to the resort, so if you have friends who want to enjoy the experience but are not campers, there are cabins nearby that can be rented while you camp in the most beautiful of forests. They can enjoy the marshmallow roasting, songs around the fire, and ghost stories, and then walk over to their cabin while you snuggle in to your sleeping bags for a REAL camping experience. The sites along the lake are favored by people with boats and kayaks, because of easy access. Odell is known for it's kokanee fishing - a delicious landlocked salmon. Early in the summer, mosquitoes can be bad, but as the summer progresses, not so many mosquitoes. No hookups for trailers, so dry camping only, and pit toilets but the camp hosts keep them clean. Reserve early because this is a favorite campground and fills up seasonally.

Great campground - wooded, friendly campers. Easy access to Odell Lake and great kayak launch spot. Train runs nearby but we didnt hear it after 10 pm.

Beautiful campground no hookups or cell service. Mosquitoes and bees some years numerous but most years barely noticable. Hiking trails.and a beautiful lake with good fishing and boating

Nice campground, the bathrooms were clean, and the sites were close to everything including water for my RV. However, we never saw the camp host while we were there. We noticed a sign for firewood at the camp host site but no firewood. The people that had boats were using the camp site near the beach to launch, even though they didn't have a site near the water. They must have been locals who didn't care if they walked through someone's else's camp site. Other than that, we had a nice stay and met some very nice people.

Nice campground. Being at the top of the ridge there is more moisture and denser foliage than e.g. Crescent Lake which is about 10 miles east. I stayed in mid-late October and the Kokanee were spawning in the creek! Go to the footbridge near site 6 to see that.Site 27 is on the far side of the campground from the lake. It's probably one of the most private and quiet sites.

I have used this campground for over 40 years and it has always been a good place to camp. The huckleberry bushes between camp sites provide privacy and in the fall ripe huckleberries.However for those with boats the boat ramp is so bad it is almost hazardous to use. The slope into the water is uneven and steep due to boats powering onto their trailer and blowing the gravel out creating a deep hole. Retrieving you boat can be very difficult.

We loved being close to the lake as well as the many trails in the area. Campers were respectful of quiet hours. We camped during the week and not sure that it would be as quiet on the weekends.
@DavidF8210922 · Camped on Aug 14, 2023 at Campsite #8
The spaces are a good size. Plus theyre fairly level. We enjoyed our stay very much. It was also nice having the water close by to bring it back to the site.

Very quiet. Nice forest setting. We arrived Sunday afternoon but the garbage was overflowing until it was emptied Tuesday morning.
@AndyFE510E3E84 · Camped on Aug 3, 2023 at Campsite #27
Good place to stay. Sites were well spaced and private, but on the small side. Very quiet. Good access to forest and wilderness areas, but not much lake access without a boat. Cell service is very spotty on Verizon, but can be picked up near the boat ramp.
@MikeA1573556 · Camped on Aug 1, 2023 at Campsite #28
The campground was just like it was 30 years ago when we last visited. It's very shady and difficult to use solar to charge anything so you will hear generators running all day. The boat ramp is a busy place and difficult to access as it's really the only lake access for kids to play in the water. Huge pot holes on the road in and inside the campground. While we were there the best spots on the lake were empty most of the time but you can't have one due to the very confusing and difficult to use website. In fact the best sites on the lake don't even show up on the campground map but they'er always reserved. Some sites are ok some are really bad with no privacy and if your down wind from the outhouses it smells. Also there is no grey water dump or a fish cleaning station . In my opinion the amount being charged should cover some regular maintenance to this aging facility. Please bring it up to par.

Everything was great. Good host quiet experience. The only negative thing was the road around the campground is in serious need of repair. It has been bad for several years and is getting worse. It would be great if the problem was addressed. Thank you.
@DennisV9860303 · Camped on Jul 24, 2023 at Campsite #15
As always the camp site was clean and ready when I arrived. The rest rooms were clean every day and felt sanitary.
@MaryS3622227 · Camped on Jul 20, 2023 at Campsite #23
Campground is in a heavily forested section on the northwest shore of Odell Lake. Great spacing between sites with lots of privacy. Only drawback to this campground is the train running near it. Campground entrance is not well marked of the main road with no signage. Worth the effort. Great place if you can find it.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
