Beautiful lake; clean restrooms; Jason/camp host was professional and friendly; great way to spend the weekend fishing.

Kudos and praise from my wife and me for the earnest and thorough efforts by the camp hosts towards cleaning sites and vault toilets and supplying with toilet paper. Very friendly, too.

campground bathrooms were very very clean. well taken care of campground. However, the fact that all of the good sites were reserved, yet the place was empty, ticks me off. the reservation system needs to change.

Camp ground is a mess logs and debris all over. Camp is right next to the hiway so there is truck traffic all night long.Boat ramp is short and narrow with a deep drop off the cement ramp if you Arn't careful with large boats. Left after first night .

Noisy highway traffic. Water is beautiful. Bathrooms ok. Camp host site looked like a homeless camp. Day use area is in rough shape. Not well maintained.

Lovely little campground near the water...several sites have their own little beach! Some road noise that quieted at night. The hosts Barbara and Jason were friendly and helpful, and clearly cared about keeping the campground clean and safe. Spotless restrooms and clean campsites. I will return!

My family and I love the place, we visit the place at least once a month and everything is perfect but the people who are in charge of the place are very bad people, you can always tell that they are drug addicts. I hope they replace them soon.

Loved site #20! Hosts were very sweet

These sites were quite spacious and comfortable for our large family. Downsides are noise from the highway and lack of potable water. Also, information about firewood was not posted in the campground. My understanding is that we should not bring untreated firewood from other locations and there was nowhere in the campground to buy firewood. We ended up chopping up down wood in the campground, but we didn't know if that was okay.
@GabrielSFD3516 · Camped on Jul 13, 2023 at Campsite #5
The campsite 4 was good. The creek was a instant win for the younger kids. The fallen tree with the root system filled with water was a breeding cesspool for mosquitoes and honestly put a damper on the trip

Weve been coming to this campground for the past 4 years and had a fun time with friends and family. Toilet paper wasnt well stocked and bathrooms were out for a couple days at a time so bring some just in case. Weather was perfect! Other campers were respectful of quiet hours. We had a great time!

We booked a group site (32) which said it could house two 21’ trailers and cars, for a party 8 people. We arrived and we barely got one trailer in. There was no camp host, so we went to the next campground over. They gave us the camp host site across from our site for a fee. That seemed ridiculous since we booked a group site that wasn’t actually a group site. We would have been screwed had that not been available. The site has standing swamp water in it which smells super gross and makes it really buggy. No big deal to us, but wanted to let people know. Our site has water access, but we wanted more if a beach for the day for our kids. We went to Crescent for the day and when we came back a got from an interior camp site had parked his enormous fishing boat. Told us he’d be back at 4:30am to go fishing. I don’t know the Etiquette in a place like this, but I thought it was super rude to take our water front spot for his boat. If he wanted that he should have booked the spot. We booked way in advance for this spot. He has to walk through our site. Left his ropes for kids to get all tangled in. Sunset was obscured by his ugly boat. Woke us up at 4:30 with his motor. Pretty camp site, but I wouldn’t book this one again. And beware it’s not a group site. I think there should also be Lake facing signs saying not to park your boat at someone else’s paid site.

I would rate this particular site a 0 star if I could. The site was terribly slanted. This site should not be advertised for those who have travel trailers. We could not level our rig so we just left. Very disappointed.
@JeffreyD84C840 · Camped on Jun 26, 2023 at Campsite #23
The girls had issues with mosquitos. The road was close and loud. There was an unseen, but well heard, railroad nearby. There was no ranger or camp host. Someone tried to take my site and it was a long argument to get her to leave.

We will definitely come back if we can get a site by the water. We had a site by the hwy which was loud. The camphosts were great and told us about a couple different places to check out. The Salt Creek falls is a definitely a must see. There was no water but you can go to the next campground not far and fill up your jugs if needed.The lake was clear and not too cold. We stayed in site 8 which was nice because it was spacious, not too close to other campsites and by the bathrooms but the hwy was close. Beautiful area.

Good site for tent camping which we were doing. Only thing sad is that it is hard to get sites for more than one night in the summer months. Takes a lot of planning.
@MichaeleG21185 · Camped on Aug 23, 2022 at Campsite #13
Yes you can hear highway noise through the night and trains from across the lake and the wind on the lake can be significant but a waterside campsite is divine! The night sky was amazing, listening to the water gently lap the shore as night set in. Yellowjackets can be pesty in August. The wind helped that.
@ChadH8887011 · Camped on Aug 11, 2022 at Campsite #10
Campground is in need of maintenance and some overhauling. Road through campground is deteriorated. Our particular site was very difficult to get RV level due to RV site being poorly constructed and not maintained. The extra boat trailer parking is completely built backwards……. If you follow the arrows directing the one-way traffic through the boat parking area, the parking lanes are painted at tye wrong angle to back in and drop a trailer. One positive note, the fee collection box was broke, so they were not collecting fees. This area of the lake get a strong afternoon wind almost every day, so beaching a boat is extremely difficult without taking a beating on the boat due to the rocky shallow shore line. The sunsets are beautiful though.

I have been at this campground a number of times over the past 30 years (but it is not my first choice at Odell Lake) and except for the boat ramp and the toilets the rest of it has continually deteriorated. I only use this camp site in the early summer when the other campgrounds are still closed and more recently when I can't get a reserved site at the other campgrounds on the lake. The road is horrible with lots of pot holes and camp sites were not well maintained and full of fir tree seed pods that could have been raked up. It was late July not June 1st when it had just opened. Downed trees are left to break down naturally which is nice in the wilderness but not in a campground where they can become a fire hazard. Maybe the tree cutters could but them into fire wood lengths and let campers use them for fire wood. The reservation system is a mess to deal with and while I was there a couple of prime camp sites designated as first come (FF) were empty. I mean, who would go there and take a chance on getting one of those good sites on a first come basis? As I understand the rules people in reserved sites can not move to a FF site; but of course there is no camp host or other personnel available to ask about that. This particular campground in the condition it is in does not need any reservation schedule when people can reserve sites at the other two camp grounds on Odell Lake. As far as I'm concerned there should be no camping fees charged at this campground until it is improved and potable water is brought back.

We really enjoyed our stay at the campground. The camp hosts were beyond amazing and so friendly. We do wish that the USFS would be able to issue tickets to campers who leave their campsites blazing. We had two neighboring campsites that literally left with flames going. I believe the USFS should be able to issue tickets and suspended campers from being able to reserve sites if they cannot be fire wise.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
