We stayed in site 14 which had a drive through, lots of room. Not much shade and the temps were around 100 so that was not much fun. Loved the site for fishing along river, bald eagles hang out in the area, geese, deer. Not a good spot for swimming, North and South Twin or Wickiup has good day use areas. Lodge at South twin good for ice, some groceries, restaurant and ice cream.

This campground offered the basics, Several pit toilets and a water station with a hand pump as advertised. There were many trees cut down, so it could have been shadier, but it met my needs for a fishing destination base camp.

It was nice to be walking distance from two great spots on the water. The vault toilet was well kept and clean.

The Bad: Very dusty. Not much shade. No real shrubbery to block sound between campsites. No campground host so idiots running ATVs late at night. The Good: Lots of hiking and swimmable, fishable water nearby. Fairly decent sized campsites. Fresh water available via a hand pump (ostensibly potable water, per Forest Service). Other than the ATVs at night, fairly quiet.

Please note, there is a fresh water pump between the campground entrance and the river, but you can't fill an RV there unless you first fill your own receptacle and then transfer it to your RV tank. Large campground with many spaces and often plenty of vacancy. There's also a ton of wood on-site, as the forest service did a lot of tree-trimming in the off-season. You just have to scavenge a bit. Good spot for fishermen, but maybe not the most family-friendly, as the water access doesn't lend itself to swimming. The twin lakes a few minutes away are much better for camping with kids.

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado
