Campsites were clearly marked and ready. Restrooms were stocked and clean. Rangers were friendly and informative

The lake is quite beautiful and warm enough to swim in August. There's a resort just a mile away with a decent restaurant and a few basic supplies including wine! About the only down side, which is typical of a lot of sites in this area, is that the ground is a thick silt. It gets in and on everything. Still if you want to paddleboard or swim, it's a nice campground with great lake access. There is no potable water here, which is a bummer and something that I think full price campgrounds should offer, so be sure to bring lots and share with neighbors.

We camped here at the end of June. The outer sites were nice, the inner sites are very close together.Its a cute small lake for personal watercraft or trolling motors only. We banked our 12 boat while we camped. On our departure day there were so many day use cars in the lot and surrounding area that we couldnt get our vehicle down the ramp to retrieve our boat, and had to return the next morning, early. If you dont mind people and general chaos its an ok place.

Clean fun place

The trees along one portion of the camp site made the road narrow and was a tight fit for our trailer. Site 9 was nice for access to the lake but was very dusty due to its high traffic location next to the day use parking lot and boat launch ramp. North Twin has several nice sandy beaches and makes for a great swimming and kayaking lake.

Very easy lake access for carrying a paddleboard; lake a great temperature in early Sept. for swimming. Good hiking trail around lake and to South Twin. Interpretive trail mentioned on USFS website has a sign at the beginning but was then non-existent, and no guiding brochure for the one number (6) we found.

We had a great time. Very clean and quiet.

We were in the middle of the campground and there is zero privacy. No cell reception.

Excellent stay! Consider trimming bushes and removing dead ones that are close to parking, they cause damage to the RV when we back in and are hard to see.

North Twin Lake campground was well maintained, clean restroom and very quiet in the evenings with no generators. The fishing was outstanding due to the fact that ODFW stocked the lake during our stay.

Lovely small campground. Was busy during the day with people coming to use the lake but so quiet at night.

The campground was very quiet the day after Labor Day. Bring a kayak, boat or paddle board to get out on the water. No motor boats!

The restroom was horrible. The smell was so bad it would have scared aways the demons from the darkest recesses of hell. It was so bad that I could feel the slime on my skin and taste the stench even after we drove 100 miles away. If we could can that smell, it would be a powerful chemical weapon. Just thinking about that smell brings bloody tears to my eyes. And now I want to go throw up. I have been to third world countries after entire villages were massacred and it was nothing compared to those bathrooms. Please for the love of God, clean those restrooms.

This lake is gorgeous anytime of year and day, though sunrise and night time are my favorite. Especially when the sky is clear. I have Verizon and usually can get a text through but not much more. Day use fills very quick so go claim your beach space early. There are less mosquitoes here than other places close by, even South Twin and Crane Prairie. I’m allergic so this is super important to me. Lately camping hasn’t been regulated much, so if you can’t get a spot online but are able to drive over anyways, your likely to find a spot that’s been reserved but sits empty. If there isn’t anyone camping (no tent set up or otherwise looking occupied) in the spot by check in time the day after the reservation (2pm) it’s technically forfeited and up for grabs.

Sure 17 is too close to the out house so the smell was bothersome almost the entire time. The reserve tag was never changed to show our name and reserve dates. The trash box was over flowing from the time we arrived. Rangers or park people came by and checked the out house but never picked up any of the trash which was now also on the ground. There was trash in our camp site that we picked up when we arrived. Overall not a great experience.

The garbage was never picked up for the 6 days we were there, the vault toilet reeked of death. However, the clean up folks were fantastic. We will never camp there again, or recommend it to anyone.

Arrived Wed June 22 - reservation signage on campsites were only written thru June 19 and never updated during our stay. The trash bin in the campground was overflowing and not emptied until June 24. Didn't see a campground host.

Was very disappointed on one of our many trips to north twin like this July. Three days of no toilet paper in the bathrooms are being cleaned. Trashcan was overflowing and dogs were carrying bags all over the campground. We stayed five days and no one ever change the sign saying when we were to arrive or leave. According to recreation According to recreation.gov north twin Campground was completely booked. When we arrived there were four campers us being a fifth camping in the campground. We never saw a forest service employee or camp host until the third day when they brought toilet paper. We have camped at north twin every year for the last seven or eight years two and three times a year and not sure that we will ever use your service again if that’s the way it’s going to continue.

This campground is awesome and even better this year since they resurfaced the access road with gravel.

2 day use cars (fisherman) were parked in the campsite upon arrival. Camp host nowhere to be found. State Police attempted to find owners only to find they were on the other side of the lake. Eventually word got to them and upon returned they complained there was nowhere else to park. Police were helpful and their presence eventually got the problem resolved. Avoid busy times as there is insufficient parking for the day use the lake is receiving. Our site was 1 of 3 that had day use vehicles parked in them.

This is a wonderful campground. there is only 1 thing about it that may be important to know. The road in and the roads around the campground has huge holes in it. It was very difficult to get our truck and camper in without it dragging and tugging on our support stabilizers. It really needs attention. We have camped here for almost 20 years and it is the worst it has ever been this time :( Other than that it was wonderful.

Excellent fishing! Caught some 18 - 24 Inch fish weighing 2 pounds and over! Hardly any smoke, lake was full and not cold temperatures. Campground could be better spread out as one sight is right on top of the other! Volted bathroom was cleaned and supplied daily. Bottle recycling wasn't picked up one time all week and was overflowing. No park manager. People were having camp fires when no fires allowed, but no one on sight to supervise the fire band. Sad...
@loriw120 · Camped on Aug 15, 2021 at Campsite #14
Hosts didn’t take care of camp or bathrooms. They only had 2 dumpsters which were stacked with garbage on the outside of the overfull dumpsters. There use to be 2 down in the parking lot for the day users, now there’s not, so the other two dumpsters are not enough. You need to enforce the “ be in camp the first night or lose your reservation” rule. I was at North Twin 2 different times for 10 days. It was sad to see all the empty, unused camp sites because the people didn’t show up and didn’t cancel and so no one else could use them. This needs to change so people can use the sites. Please do something about this so people can use these camp sites and not sit empty AlLL summer. Thank you

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
