Well maintained, tidy cabin and site with a good working wood stove, an abundant supply of firewood and small creek running directly behind the site.

Lovely cabin! Enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of the creek. Really appreciated the solitude with the family.Some notes for people coming up: coffee percolator is missing it's top; need D batteries for the lantern (or propane and little nets for Coleman light), bring silverware, bowls and cups, and a stove to heat things over using the wood burning stove.

Cabin was super clean, lots of pots and pans, one bunk bed in main area and a loft with a queen bed. We didnt realize there was a loft so that was a nice surprise! We hiked in during February and the cabin was easy enough to warm up with the fire and we had a great time. I always love staying at forest service cabins and this one did not disappoint. The stream right next to it was an added bonus as well.

Cabin in excellent condition. Easy to get to by xc ski....4 miles on a snow covered road

Neat location, right on the creek. The road was still closed, so we had to hike in (end of April). The hike in was nice. There was still some snow drifts. You just walk on the paved road up to the cabin (about 4 miles with around 550 ft elevation gain). The cabin was a little smaller than expected. There is one bunk (with 2 twin/full beds) in the main area. We did not use the loft.

A wonderful little cabin near a stunning creek with 360 mountain views. The trek in is about 4 miles. Touring or snowshoeing are highly advised in the winter. Stocked with wood. Has pots and pans. Bring some yummy food to cook on word burning stone and enjoy some time removed from the digital world with good company!! :)

The Spanish creek cabin is a very special place. It is peaceful and so unique in its location. Whenever I have come upon the cabin, previous campers have all kept their end of the bargain and cleaned and maintained its interior and exterior. Kudos to the Forest Service for its part in maintaining and providing such a beautiful place for the public. Thank you!

We started out from the lower gate in the early afternoon and it was very dark by the time we reached the trailhead parking lot. The road was blown over with snow and we almost lost hope. We started to think about how to survive the night outside! Luckily I had one bar of service at the trailhead gate and called a friend who encouraged us. We had a lovely time after this moment of peril. Next year we will book more nights!

We loved it! We were pleasantly surprised to find some cooking utensils there. Suggest bringing a gas stove for cooking if weather is not cold. We had to heat the cabin up to an uncomfortable heat in order to cook our breakfast on the wood stove.

Great Cozy cabin. Lots of great hiking and I am sure will be great skiing once there is enough snow!

Nice cabin. Cozy (i.e. small compared to some of the larger cabins), but laid out very efficient with plenty of table and counter space and makes heating the cabin up more quickly. There are 2 bunk beds 1st level and 2 singles in the loft. Even with pads, beds are stiff due to the plywood over the springs. Bring bed rolls. This suits 2 people well in the winter. 3-4 would be crowded unless more time spent out front. Good supply of wood rounds and 1/2 rounds outside and 1/4 rounds on the porch. Axes need sharpening. Wood stove works well for both heating and cooking. Folks need to remember to clean/sweep food remnants off tables and floors (out of respect for the next user and to keep mice from frequenting) as well as cleaning out the stove before leaving.

The cabin is well equipped, people have left behind propane for the lantern, but we still brought battery operated lanterns. There was no toilet paper in the vault toilet. There was a roll in the cabin that we took out and we left an additional roll that we brought. Bring TP. There's plenty of logs as of 11/20, we split more than we used and stacked it on the porch for the next group. The cabin itself is cozy, the guest book is fun to read, the creek could be heard all night but it's freezing up, didn't see or hear any animals. We loved our short, snowy stay.

My husband and I booked this cabin for a little unplugged R&R, while on a planned visit to see our children and grandchildren who live in Bozeman. Spanish Creek Road never disappoints for wild life viewing, and the cabin itself was clean and comfortable. We had the kids and grandkids up for a little exploring, a few meals and an evening around the campfire, simply perfect.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
