I swear this has to be in the top five most beautiful campgrounds in the country. Its in a stunning valley with a beautiful creek running alongside the campground. Threaded no such thing as clean with pit toilets, but the ones here were as tolerable as Ive experienced. The host was very friendly, and it turns out we grew up in the same area, just a few decades apart. She explained the rules and warned us about bears that had been seen in the area in a way that was less warning and more ensuring we had a good time. I definitely plan on going back and hopefully this review doesnt encourage too many people to reserve that site and make it difficult.

We love camping at Spire Rock but for 2 years in a row when we have arrived at our campground the sites that we had reserved where sold out from under us. The camp host this time said, " it's been 26 hours since you didn't show up. She had the reservation wrong. A young family was camping on our reserved spot. The host did make them leave but what a rotten deal for them as well.

We had a great time. Beautiful campground! The thick foliage makes it feel like the campsite was secluded, although it was near other sites. We walked "the loop" which ended up being about 2.5 miles. There was a downpour the night we stayed. But, hey, maybe the rain kept the bears away...? No bears visited the camp as far as we know. Whew!Our campsite was near enough to the toilet to be convenient, yet far enough away to not be bothered by people visiting the toilet or toilet smells (although, it was very clean and not smelly up close, too!).

A truly wonderful campground. A little off the beaten path, so generally quiet (except for some ATV's). lovely small river running through the campground. The host, Kathy was truly amazing and so much help.

Beautiful soot for a few days stay. The host was amazingly helpful. The road coming in is a couple of miles of very rough terrain. Otherwise, great stay!

Bozeman is about a 40min drive and Big Sky is about 35min drive! The campground is very remote is totally off grid!

The 3 miles of road from the highway to the campground is in horrible condition. It took us 30 minutes to drive 3 miles. This needs to be maintained!

Three miles off the road. Quite and secluded

This was a beautiful and fun way to spend time outdoors. Lots of mudding and off roading trails past/near here. The camp hosts were lovely humans Amy and Mike and they helped us with whatever we needed. Great experience :)

Absolutely love this campsite. You park your camper in a space surrounded by trees and shrubs, and then behind that is your picnic table, and beyond that is your private fire ring right by the creek. Just lovely! Only drawback, a little traffic on the forest service road above you, on the other side of the creek. Our 21 ft camper with one slide pretty much filled the pad.

Spire Rock is nestled into a canyon and very quiet and peaceful. The campground hosts were most gracious and full of knowledge. The outhouse was clean and I would recommend if you wish to stay somewhere quiet and peaceful.

Beautiful camp grounds that are well kept. Bathrooms on site for each camp were clean and convenient. Our host couldn’t have been nicer and our neighbors during our stay were quiet. It’s worth the drive and the roads aren’t bad getting into the area considering where this amazing campsite is located.

My wife and I have camped at Spire Rock Campground for many years. Too many to mention.. It is very tranquil with the creek running alongside the campsites. We have camped in most if not all of the campsites over the years. Exploring Rat lake and the many trails in the area are a must. This submission is given with one request...don't tell anyone...

Great campground. Clean and organized and beautiful scenery. Wonderful camp hosts, always helpful and polite. Hiking the Garnet Mountain trail from Rat Lake is a great hike.

How can I get a refund? There was no Reserved sign on the site and someone else grabbed it on a "first come first served" basis. There was nobody in charge. Very disappointed.

Had a great time at Spire Rock. Some campsites are really limited on space, even for a smaller tent, so just be aware of this. Also had a lot of bear activity each day. Go prepared, clean up your campsite, store things appropriately, and you’ll be fine. Campground hosts were wonderful, very helpful and friendly!

Maybe the best maintained campgrounds I've experienced in Montana, especially down Gallatin. Each campsite was very well maintained and clean. It was right on a creek (Amazing ambient noise), all the sites had privacy and great night time views. There's a bear boxes on site which is nice as well. The host was incredible! The road was a little busier/noisier than I would've expected in the morning but it was Labor Day Weekend so I'm guessing that's an anomaly. Will for sure go back.

The camp host was very hospitable and informative. The grounds were quiet and clean. No cell reception, but will definitely stay here again.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
