Very nice campground with a super helpful host or maintenance guy. Mostly designed for tent camping we found some sites that accommodated our 21 footer

Most of the sites are so private, we love that there is great coverage of trees and bushes. Quiet at night, watched deer come through in the morning. Right on the river with half of the campsites. The hosts were so nice and fun to talk with.

Edgewater is a lovely campground, I have to say. The hosts were friendly and accommodating; the only thing I would say they could pay a little better attention to the further reaches of the campground, as evidenced by what's detailed below.Due to the burn ban of 2023, lots folks cancelled their reservations, so we were able to move to the coveted spots 19/20! Water access is great, but holy heck, were they full of dog turds!As far as we could tell, every bit of space outside of picnic tables/tent landing was full of dog excrement, as if someone had camped there when spot 20 was empty, so they just had their dogs use it as a toilet. And I'm telling you, unless they were there for the full 14 days, it couldn't have been just one dog. I'm talking Turd City, people. Behind and around the Bear Saver - dog turds. The clear area along the fence, where I ran the 75' line for my own dog - dog turds. Every bit of land where I thought I might lay a blanket or sit a chair - dog turds. Crusty, crystalline, mid-to-large breed, there-all-summer dog turds. I'm not one to make a mountain out of a molehill, but when the molehill is - uhhh, a giant pile of dog turds, I have to say something. There was some pretty heavy damage to live trees in the site, like someone - a child or otherwise undeveloped person - just took a machete/hatchet to the base/roots and sat there hacking - at live trees....situated above their own sleeping area. Do we need to start IQ testing for entry to the woods now?It was disappointing to see our forests so disrespected by visitors (and unattended to by stewards).Please, folks. Respect our forests - "leave no trace" includes dog turds and vandalism

Beautiful location. We liked having the forest on one side and the river on the other. Camp hosts were kind and chill.

The best place ever because the campsites seem so private

Nice campsite with river access. Though the access is steep and you have to climb over logs and go through sinking mud to get to the swimmable part of the river.

Our favorite spot second only to the high sierras, always well managed clean and wonderful

We loved our stay. We had campground 11 which was right next door to the campground manager. They were great, super helpful as we hadn't camped in many years and it was our first time as a family. In between our two campgrounds was the path to the river. The river was great for wading and a little fishing but a little cold for swimming. We only caught two little fish and released them, but everyone had fun. There have been bears around so you do have to keep food put away when you leave camp or sleep. The campsite was clean, and lots of trees to keep us shaded. And lots of wildlife, deer, squirrels, chipmunks, and birds. There were bugs, but the campfire helped keep them at bay. Overall great weekend camping and we would definitely go back there again.

Nice quite campground. Site had lots of space and it was easy to back our Camper into the space.

I don’t know if it was just the time of year or certain circumstances but the flies and mosquitos were out of control. You couldn’t be outside without being bombarded with flying insects. We used several different types of bug spray and nothing worked. The water in the river at the campground hardly moves so I think this contributes some to the bugs along with the foliage around the sites being so dense and tall.

The campground was clean however there was a bad odor from the bathrooms most of the time.

Pretty little campground, it was quiet and close enough to lake Sullivan to drive for a swim. We didn’t swim in the river, it seemed more for fishing. The camp host was super nice. Easy check-in and out.

Camp hosts were great. Mosquitoes were terrible- they seemed to be immune to the spray repellent. We were there less than 48 hours, I had no less than 30 bites

Major mosquito problem. Never been swarmed like that before. We turned around and went home. Terrible. Should get 100% refund.

The camping spaces are very spacious and private so you're not looking at your neighbor which was very nice. It would have been nice if there had been pamphlets or some kind of information on what there was to do in the area and what was open and what was closed. We had hoped to go to the caves Unfortunately they were closed the days that we were camping. The camp manager were very nice however they knew nothing about the area or could not give us any information.

We booked site 18 but moved to 19 since its off the river, only 20 and 19 have river access. However 19 is set lower. Lots of yellow jackets and a nest was found on a tree next to the river. Lucky we had traps and no sweets. Host on site was amazing. We forgot to tell him about the nest, since we spotted it on the last day. Will return but maybe to another site away from the yellow jackets

Love this campground, being able to access the river for fishing, kayaking and swimming. Ione is just a paddle away or a short drive - the grocery store has amazing giant ice cream cones!! Short drive to other sites like the local dams, Canadian border and small towns.

I'm conflicted about this camp ground. Beautiful area. There was a lake but the only place to go to swim was a boat launch. Luckily it wasn't used while we were there. Kids made friends. The camp host guided me into my spot which was great but then was rude to my kids and the other kids they were playing with. It was very peaceful though. Not at the top of my list but i may go back.

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
