It was one of the cleanest camps I have been to. The bathrooms were super clean and always stocked. There were no over flowing garbage. There was not garbage along the road or trails. It was beautiful. The camp hosts were very nice and clearly cared for the camp very well. Thank you

Unexpectedly great CG. Stayed weekdays and it was very quiet with little traffic. Our site was especially shady which was welcome during the hot weather. Clean, restrooms especially clean, convenient trash cans, bear boxes, massive nice picnic tables. Only negative was the speed bumps - watch out, those things are serious; but they serve a good purpose..

I come typically here once a year when I have a weekend trip. Especially in spring. Its the best place for a may weekend in my opinion. Many kinds of mushrooms grow and its fun to see them and the wild strawberries are coming out. Everything is lush and green and gorgeous. This trip the hosts kept everything immaculately clean. Vault toilets and no showers. Clean fresh water from the water stations. The reason we do this campground for spring is because its too soon for swimming which is not its greatest asset. The beach here is rocky and the current is strong. So for this reason when its warmer I go up the river to other campgrounds with better swimming. I have kayaked here but the current was strong and it was hard to come back its probably better in summer. Very close to town but far enough do silence. So many birds including our new friend the woodpecker. Great for walking small kids around the nature trail with educational plaques that teach about native life both plant life and the kalispel tribe. The sites themselves are great I dont think you can go wrong. I liked this site Im interested in site 4 for a future trip it looks really pretty . Site 14 is huge if you have a large group. Site 13 is difficult if you have physical challenges pick a different one. Firewood is available but a guy down the street sells bundles from his field for 5.00 good ones. The grates for cooking on the fire have improved and their picnic tables are amazing. Hope that helped. Oh and bathrooms are near pretty much all the sites there is one about every 4-5 sites.

Second visit this year, first time was in #11 at Fathers Day. Roomy sights with plenty of tent space. Which made my visits with friends/family from out of the country, the Oregon coast, across the state, and locals from Spokane and Priest River outstanding. New tables since early Summer! They are amazing solid and was able to play dice games! Yes!!!! Dice games!!!!! Which made my last night both nostalgic and filled with wonderful new memories. Hope we were not to loud for anyone that night. The only thing I could complain about was seasonal Yellow Jackets and how much they still really like Chicken in late summer!The Pend Oreille River is low but beautiful as Always! Oh and the Kalispels really rock with the interpretive historical trail as well. The art was wonderful! Thank you for diggin" the truth and bringin' to light how far back your history goes! It gave a great visual of how life was hundreds and thousands of years ago and how important community and nature were for survival and wellbeing. And yes well before our European invasion. Thank you Kalispel Cultural Department and all the Archaeologist involved, as well as the Artist, Botanist and the incredible translation of the Salish language throughout the entire walk.

I was at site 10. Seems like it wasnt as well setup for a tent as the other sites. Had to out my tent up in the gravel parking area and pull my vehicle up in the space. Wouldve been too tight for 2 tents. But campground was clean and was nice to have a fire!!

Clean, quiet campground just over the Washington border from Idaho. Lots of trees for shade and clean vault toilets. Newport WA/Oldtown ID are within a mile with Grocery stores and restaurants. Beautiful river runs next to campground. We have stayed here before so we loved coming back.

We really like a lot of things about Pioneer Park. The proximity to our home is convenient, the lakes that are so close to it, then the boatlaunch right there in the park. The problem we had was the yellow jackets. The camp hosts have done what they can, but I'm highly allergic to them, so next time I'll bring benadryl in case of a sting.

Nice camp. Plentiful potable water sources and clean restrooms. Nice shade during a hot weekend.

Great place to relax, small campground, well maintained, close to the water and very quiet. Great chances to observe wildlife. We will be back for sure.

The sites get some sun but are very shady and bring relief from the heat. They have put in new tables and fire rings. Elaine and Larry, this years hosts are very friendly and helpful. The campground was very neat and clean during my stay. A walk on the trails and trip to the river for a quick dip or playing in the water is a must see.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds. Clean, quiet, beautiful!! HOWEVER, it has become increasingly difficult to camp due to the removal of "first-come, first-served" sites. We are very upset to see the high volume of sites left unused, although the campground is complete "reserved". I hope you will consider reinstating the availability of a few non-reservable sites....and/or find a solution to the problem of reserved sites going unused for others. Thank you, Sheri

A small, quiet campground on the Pend Orielle River. Great hike showcasing local Native history. Near Marshall and Bead Lakes. Shady.

Interpretive trail was wonderful to walk and great for family experiences. The Pend O'Reille River and shoreline was so much fun and a great place for rafts, paddle boards, etc.

Large sites, plenty of trees, and clean restrooms. Really a little jewel of a park. It is a little close to civilization (Newport and Oldtown are less than 10 minutes away) but if you hate disconnecting completely from the outside world while camping you will find it easy to get cell coverage here. We were here during the heat wave in Spokane, where temperatures hit 104 degrees, but it was much cooler and far more comfortable at Pioneer.
@LUISAP8092054 · Camped on Jul 15, 2022 at Campsite #6
It is a very private campground, you feel like you are in the middle of the woods with nobody around, it is quiet and relaxing, lots of trees around and shade. It is good for kayaking and fishing. Definitely I will com back.

This was our first visit. As long as they have the same camp host we'll be back. The camp host was conscientious, efficient, and very friendly.

Bring a small tent! Fortunately we travel with multiple tents and this site (#7) would only accommodate our backpacking tent. The setting is nice but there is also a lot of road noise from nearby highway. Would not stay here again.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
