Love this campground. You are right on the creek. We brought inner tubes and the kids had so much fun going down this patch of creek. We always find the best bugs here too! 5-6 long stick bugs, praying mantis too! Bring your hammock and enjoy the deep shade by the creek!

Chavez Crossing is close to a wonderful river and has three group sites. The one bathroom was poorly stocked, often without paper, and if you are in Ponderosa you will smell the septic. The fire pits were great and if you walk past the Chavez Crossing signs along the river, there is a fun trail along the river. Get to any hiking destinations early! Hiking and mountain biking was great, but I would not stay at Chavez Crossing again.

Perfect campground for groups of any size. Facilities (restrooms) were very clean, drinking water taps were functional, and all grills, fire pits, and benches were in great condition. Each campsite is against Oak Creek so you can hear the water rushing at night which was really nice. The campsite is an easy 10 min walk + small climb to some extraordinary Raven Caves that overlook the valley. The campsite is also conveniently very close to town, so grabbing extra food/supplies is super easy.

Upon receiving an email for our pending reservation, it had no address to navigate to. What made it worse was under a Google search to see if we could get some further info, there are 2 Chavez campgrounds, one clearly with an address nowhere close to this campground. We drove to the wrong address first. Theres not much to do at the campground, and the views arent that great, but if youre looking for an easy stay nearby to Sedona, it works.

The site was fabulous! The creek was steps away, fire pits and grill were in great condition. The camp host was friendly and showed up with firewood for only eight dollars a bundle, it was a good sized bundle. Our stay was short and our party was small compared to the number that was allowed. We enjoyed the larger space and would stay again if I find myself in the region.

We had an amazing time at Chavez Crossing! The hosts were very accommodating. Everyone around us was kind and friendly. When we arrived we discovered that half of our campsite was under construction and the group directly across from us offered for us to share their site so we had plenty of space. Only thing is you can hear the highway at night while sleeping but the creek noise helped with that. Our teenage daughter liked it as she could access wi-fi as needed. There is water and a garbage can right on site which was great too. I would definitely bring our family back to this site.

Great camp ground. Close to town, but still private and right by the creek.

Camp host "Margaret" was absolutely a pleasant and helpful host . We love Chavez Crossing and we're with a group that grew each day of the week of our stay to 85 on Saturday night. Others had the location booked on different days for our groups. The camp was clean and facilities were well maintained every day of our stay. We are planning another trip for next year at that time.

Had a great time at this campground the big oak trees and the creek nearby is a beautiful scenery and backdrop to camping. There are multiple grills and two fire places that are big enough to host a large group.

We had such a great experience at this site. Our site host, Andy, was great. Right next to the creek, we enjoyed experiencing Fall in Sedona, while a quick walk back uphill gave us beautiful views of the red rock. Even though there was no electricity at individual camp sites, it was nice to have lit bathrooms at night, and I appreciated access to clean water. Overall, a nice urban camping experience directly off the road without too much traffic or noise from the city.

This is an unusual camping area as it sits by Oak Creek, is very wooded but is also tucked into a residential resort that was probably built around it. There are 3 large camp sites meant for large groups to use but I had mine to myself due to the time of year. Nothing there but vault toilets and water from spigots at each site. The location near Sedona is fabulous and the camp host was very friendly. Next time I will bring a bunch of people with me! The gate is a bit tricky to open but I figured it out. Very quiet.

Beautiful site with the creek running through campsite. Bathrooms were clean. Our group had a great time!

Our host made the trip easy, they had their rules, yet very respectful of and patience with us as we gathered to celebrated our kindergartens' 33 graduating class under the trees along side the river! Couldn't get any better than that!

This campground is a hidden gem. Quiet, tucked away, but still close to a lot. The small number of camp spots ensures a peaceful setting, and it's closer to town than a lot of the other campgrounds. Easy to hike or bike to some of the trailheads, and the raven caves overlook the campground, so that's a cool 20min hike. We will be back.

We loved how this campground was just for groups. We had a group of moms and kids and had plenty of room and space and was not close to other campers at all. The kids loved playing in the creek too! I’d definitely stay again. Perfect for groups.

Chavez Crossing was a great location. There are only a few sites so it was quiet. There was one big negative about the site - the bathrooms. I have camped at numerous pit toilet campgrounds but this one had the worst smell I have ever experienced. Also, campers should be warned about the wild pigs in the area. We had a well sealed bin of food that they tried to get open (unsuccessfully). One in the pack was huge!

Loved our time! Super close to everything and hiking trails. Jill and Darren the camp hosts were super nice and accommodating for our needs. We were the only ones there so had the place to ourselves! Would go back. And it was cold when were there!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
