Bear lake is lovely. I want to give a shout out to Lar the camp host since I often read poor reviews of camp hosts. He was very personable and helpful in helping me find the site that worked best for me. The sites and facilities were very clean. He keeps a close eye out without being intrusive. Chequamegon-Nicolet NF and campers are lucky to have him.

Awesome campground. On the smaller side, beach was nice, host was friendly and welcomed us upon arrival. Single restrooms which make these bathrooms somewhat more bearable. Very clean and well maintained. Waterfront sites are gorgeous! We will definitely be back!

Our experience camping was great as usual at Bear Lake the only issue was the camp host. Not sure if he was just bored because there werent many campers or what but he was actually kind of harassing us. We walked our dogs (on leashes) and he followed us told not to go on the beach area which we already knew not to do that. My son was going out to fish on the lake and he stopped him saying its check out time you cant go fishing! We had the site booked for 3 night and he didnt bother to ask if we were staying. On the last day our son took the garbage to the dumpster at 10:00am and the host stopped him to ask to ask if we were packing up because we had to leave this morning. We know the rules of the campground and follow them not sure why he felt the need to supervise us so closely. We never had an issue before but not sure if we will go back if this guy is still there.Roger and Lisa

Not busy. Loads of black flies and mosquitoes made it almost unbearable unless we stayed in a screen room. Stairs to the lake were closed due to ground wasps. Bathrooms and water pump were a bit of a hike from our site. Not much to do or see. No cell service.

We absolutely love site 11 and reserve it as many times as we can. But the stairs going down to the water have a bad issue with wasps. We have been bit everytime we've stayed. I hope this can be addressed by next summer. We LOVE coming and will always camp at this campgrounds. It's private and peaceful.

Had a great time here. 2 things...absolutely no cell service. The other is only one water pump.

Our experience at Bear Lake is always wonderful. The campsites are always clean as well as the out-houses.

Clean well maintained site. Nice steps down to lake. Only negative was the grill grate wouldn’t swivel.

Horrible. I camp all the time. Unruly, boisterous late night trash talking guests, the host was a joke. Lived in wabeno, was never there. Saw him 2 times in 3 days. Dogs non stop barking.

Campground host was very intrusive to us and other campers when setting up, taking down, preparing supper. The site should be cleaned before arrival. NOT after a person has arrived or been there for 5 days! Too bad. Kind of weirdish.

Camp host was friendly, offered great advice when asked. I was able to easily switch my reservation to a different site within the campground closer to my family. Much appreciated. Very nice campground and lake. Beach area could use some work. Bathrooms were clean. Just wish those nasty beach flies hadn't been so intense.

Beautiful Park. Listening to the Loons at night was absolutely amazing! Campground has big sites and there was plenty of room for our 2 tents and a pop up tent. Will definitely be back next year.

It was a nice clean site . But the very heavy picnic table was 6 inches from the fire pit :-( I hurt my back helping hubby move it :-(

I’ve been coming to bear lake for 12 years now and it never disappoints. Hands down Wisconsin’s best campground. The walk in sites are especially nice and private with each site having direct access to the lake. The lake is clean and great to float around in and listen to the resident loon family. Bring your kayak, paddleboard or non motorized boat and park it right by your site.

Bear Lake is a lovely campground. Pretty lake -- I could canoe directly from my site. Nice facilities -- the toilets were new and clean and had adequate TP and the hand pumps provided nice cold water. A welcoming campground host -- I asked him where to get wood when I first arrived and he just gave me some as well as giving me directions as to where I could buy some for the next couple of nights. The Campground is also located right along the Rat River Recreational trail for folks who want to bike or hike. Many sites are reservable and you get all this for $15/night.

First off, this site is beautiful! Restrooms weren't as clean as other Colorado camping Restrooms but they were adequate. There were several mice and chipmunk at our camp site. The Indian Trail hike was easy and had phenomenal views. Turn right at the fork and go up the mountain to the top. It was very much worth the hike.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
