Beaver Lake Campground, Glidden, WI

Beaver Lake Campground is located in the Great Divide Ranger District of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest (1 hr 46 min east of Duluth, MN) with an elevation of 1,505 feet. There are a total of 6 campsites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of May to the end of October. Sites can accommodate RVs between 25 and 35 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. There is a fee of $15.00 per night.

Site 10 was nice but near the dumpsters that I could smell the rotten garbage. I moved to site 3 the second night that was FCFS. The few premium sites on the water had reserved signs but no one showed up. Disappointing that such nice sites are left vacant when others could enjoy them. This seems to be an issue at many of the NFS campgrounds I have been at. No other lake access except the boat landing up the road. Otherwise quiet campground, but many sites were vacant.

Loved the location, easy to find. Bathrooms (pit toilets) were clean with sanitizer provided. Located close to hiking trails and rock climbing locations I was interested in, very quiet at night. However, be prepared to deal with clouds of hungry mosquitoes! Roads to location are unpaved and will leave your vehicle covered with rock dust (or rock paste after rain). Would I stay here again? Absolutely. With fewer mosquitoes would rate excellent.

Had a great time at this small, quiet, peaceful spot. I was hiking the North Country Trail which just skirts the edge of this campground. It has everything a backpacker needs...a water pump, dumpster, bathroom, picnic table, fire ring, and spot for your tent. And it's pet friendly. But absolutely no cell phone reception, so be aware of that if you are trying to coordinate with other people. Loved the space.

Someone had a motorboat speeding in circles towing kids until 9:30pm. Is that even allowed? Its a teeny lake.

Loved it here. As long as you’re used to a semi-rugged campground, this is a great place to camp. The price it great and there is plenty to do in the surrounding area. The shore of beaver lake also makes a great spot to stargaze on a clear night, with the Milky Way being clearly visible in the summer.

Beautiful, quiet campground. Our favorite place to get away from IT ALL! (No cell service!) This is our favorite USFS campground on any National Forest we have ever visited and we come back every year. Glad Wisco/Beaver Lake Rd is finally reopening.
