Trails were beautifully maintained and clearly marked. Gift shop was a sweet bonus we were not expecting.

The cabin was clean; new bedframes made sleeping a bit more comfortable than in past years. Some of our enjoyment of Camp Mist Mount's serenity was spoiled by loud music emanating from campers in another section that blared nonstop on Friday evening until 11PM when the Rangers were finally called to the scene. This music began again on Saturday AM about 8 and continued unhindered until 8:30 PM. Complaints to the Rangers were met with "There's nothing we can do."

The park rangers are always friendly and helpful. The value is fair. Restrooms are clean and well lit. The free firewood is very helpful. But don't forget your kindling!

In a beautiful wooded setting, the cabins are rustic but have the essentials of lights, a good mattress on the cots and now electrical plug at each bed. The fire ring, picnic table, and free wood available encoarage fires for cooking and social gathering. The heated bathrooms with flush toilets and showers balance the rustic with the modern. There is a short and a long trail to Catochtin Falls which is lovely. The are many hiking trails and rock climbing opportunities. The small Nature Center is worth a visit too. The Park staff are very helpful.

But shoutout to Ranger Grimes for such a perfectly friendly welcome to the park. We had a wonderful weekend at Misty Mount full of memories that will last a lifetime. Well be back next year!

It was a nice experience in a historic cabin! Staff was informative and friendly. The pool was great, restrooms/showers are up to date and clean. Presuming they are trying to preserve an atmosphere of sedate woodsyness, the no vehicles idea is great. The beds are surprisingly comfy, and no a/c is ok due to many windows. We came for the hiking and expect to return.

The description of the cabin notes that its a drive in site however theres no way to actually drive to the cabin to drop your stuff off. Instead you have to park in the parking lot and lug all your things down to the cabin. We had 3 kids and were staying for a whole week so it was a lot. The pool was nice and the bathrooms were clean! If you have kids, want to be close to the pool and dishwashing station I would suggest to stay in the upper loop.

Amazing!!! I used to camp at Misty Mount with my family as a child. Being back 25 years later with my own family was so special. Many good changes, but everything felt so very much the same!

My main concern was that there would be enough space for our baby's pack and play crib. We stayed in a four person cabin and there was tons of space for the crib and space for our baby to crawl and play. The facilities were clean and lovely. We really enjoyed our stay!

Going to Camp Misty Mount is like stepping back in time but with much appreciated upgrades to the cabins such as ceiling fans, indoor and outdoor lights, and outlets to recharge devices. After an invigorating hike to Wolf Rock and Chimney Rock, nothing beats relaxing in the pool with trees all around you. Add in an evening campfire and you've got a perfect day.The park rangers and camp hosts are super friendly and helpful. You can just tell how much they love Camp Misty Mount. Thank you!

I have made it my mission to visit state and national park as a hobby, and let me just say Camp Misty Mount did not disappoint at all. The cabins had spider webs, but that was a little minor issue; however, the cabins were spacious. the property is clean and amazing. The property had trails close by. No need to drive, just plan to do the yellow trail for about 5 hours. But you can do it faster if you do not stop to take thousands of pictures, video's and snack breaks along the way. This was my first national park cabin, and it did not disappoint. Also there is wood in th property. Just load the wood up, and pull it to your cabin. And if you visit during the summer they have a pool.

We loved our stay in cabin 45. The bathrooms were close and look to be recently redone. All of the instructions for check-in, check-out, etc. were clear, and the park employees were kind and helpful. I appreciated not having to pay for firewood. Trails were great (we hiked Cunningham Falls and Catoctin Mountain Park). Also had fun exploring the town of Thurmont: Bollinger's Restaurant, Catoctin Mountain Orchard, Loys covered bridge, Gateway Candyland, The Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes (this is a serious religious place, but we went for the art). Only stayed one night because they were booked, but next time plan to stay longer!

I just love it at camp Misty Mount. It's so peacful there. The bathhouse was very clean and warm. Staying in the cabins there, reminds me of being in the wilderness. I feel so relaxed there, like a don't have a care in the world. This was my third year in a row I've gone, and hope to be there again next October. Thank you for keeping up with the care of the grounds and making it enjoyable for all to go there.Dave Eckenrode

Everything went very smoothly at Camp Misty Mount. The camp host was very helpful, and I had a very nice conversation with the Ranger and her intern. The cabin provided exactly the getaway that I needed.

Great cabin. Attentive park rangers. Clean and well cared for facilities. Engaged camp site host.

Our experience was great. The cabins are rustic, but have a ceiling fan and an overhead light and patio light. Mattresses had a vinyl cover (bring your own bedding). The only drawback is that our cabin's fire pits and picnic table can be were closer to our neighboring cabin's fire pit and picnic table. One of the bathroom buildings was recently renovated. Very clean with sinks, flush toilet, and a shower. Firewood was available for donation.

Beautiful grounds and very nice and clean rustic cabins. Everything is kept in tip-top shape with clean bathrooms and they brand new pool. Love this little getaway for long weekends.

Great cabin. Stayed in cabins 28 and 29. They were close to the womens bathroom. The women in the group appreciated being close to the bathroom. Firewood also was close by. Every bed had its own outlet great for charging phone. Cell service was ok. Did not have a chance to use pool but it looked nice. Rangers were very helpful and orderly. Overall a great experience! Would go back in a heartbeat!

We love this place. My mom has limited mobility so we booked cabin 44 which has a ramp and paved path to the pool and bathhouse. She was over the moon to be spending time in the woods after not being able to do so for many years.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
