The campground is beautiful and we liked our very private campsite. It was really sad to see how low the lake was!!! The last time we were at this campground the water's edge was as we came out of the trees from the campground. It was beyond unbelievable

Beautiful scenery in quiet campground. Spot C3‘s tent space is meant for smaller tents, but we had enough space in our parking area for our 8-person tent and our van. We will come again!

Campgrounds are very nice and shaded. The kids had fun finding huckleberries. The reservoir was really low but you can drive out to the water rather than walking and the kids had a lot of fun. Should have brought a shade canopy though.

We were in loop A, close to the bathrooms and reservoir. There were lots of mosquitos, but we loved this spot and would go again.

Love the area. the only complaint in the toilets were dirty and not kept as clean as they normally are.

Had a nice few relaxing days. Beautiful views around the lake.

This campground is NOT suited for tent camping, and I am shocked that is not listed anywhere. You will have to set up on a parking pad next to the road through the campground, you will not be able to stake your tent down, and you will have to sleep on large, sharp rocks. This campground seems to be highly frequented by people who are local and in campers, but if you're from out of the area and in a tent, I'd pick a different campground.

Nice host

Our visit to Calamity campground was about as good as it gets. There were only 2 other camp sites occupied. It was extremely quiet and peaceful and the access to Palisades reservoir was the icing on the cake. The road to get there is a little sketchy, but paved the whole way. Thanks for a great campground and stay!

All of the tent only campsites were really well-maintained and very well set up. It was a very pretty campsite and the fact that it had a no trailer loop was very nice

Wonderful!

The campground was pretty nicely covered by trees and toilets were clean. Beware of extra vehicles costs even if the site says more than one vehicle, you'll have to pay for the extra vehicles. Lake is low but pretty. Camp host are lukewarm at best. All in all, it's a pretty spot just wish the hospitality was better and the extra fees weren't there to put damper on the experience.

When we arrived at the campground the host directed us to our site which unfortunately was occupied. We had made this reservation only a week in advance when we saw that a site had opened. Knowing this was the busy part of the season we hoped for the best but were ready for the worst. The host jumped into action and did some checking and found a site that was reserved but not occupied was open. They were able to get us into the site and we had a wonderful time during our stay. The campground was busy but well organized, the campers were courteous and respectful with their ATV/UTVs, and the facilities were clean. We loved the layout of the campsite which made parking our 34 foot trailer quite easy and allowed room to spread out so we weren't restricted to the immediate area around the camper. We'll definitely be back.

Lots of open spots and good privacy, but lots of OHV noise up behind the campground during the day.

We had a great time. The country is beautiful. I felt sorry for the host, I gave her a bad time, but she was great.

Narrow Winding road to get into the campground. Nice camp grounds. Clean rest rooms. I will go back.

RV spots were clean and the vegetation between them made it feel more private. Facilities were clean. We enjoyed exploring the rocky beach area around the lake wince the water level was extremely low. There were also a ton of huckleberries around our site that you could just pick off the plant, wash and eat!

Always a great place to stay. Bathrooms are always clean and a great dock to launch the boat.

A very nice and relaxing campground. The bathrooms were spotless.

The camp host was new and not kind at all. The boat ramp was full so we brought our boat to camp. The next morning she was lecturing us about having an extra vehicle. No hi or good morning or anything kind to say. I mentioned we had done this in the past and it was never a problem. She said her job was to enforce the rules. OK I get it, but we paid online and drove SEVEN hours. We paid the extra 24 dollars to her and it seemed odd that the envelope didn't even seal. How do we know she didn't just keep it? We have come here for 6 years and absolutely LOVE it!! All previous camp hosts have been so kind and friendly and I missed them this year. I would recommend her job is to FIRST be kind and friendly and not so damn money hungry and over use of power.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
