The campground was wonderful....lots of nice secluded sites....the camp host was rude and unprofessional

If youre looking for a true beach camping experience then this is the place. Love the serenity, the privacy of the campsites, the beach access. Bathrooms are very clean, lighthouse, the Ocracoke Ferry, lots of great restaurants are just around the corner.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fresco Campground. The staff we saw were friendly, non-intrusive, and helpful. We love this campground so very much; we hope it turns into a year round option - we would stay!

Love this campground and proximity to beach. Sites are private but choose carefully as many are not level. Burs are everywhere - we used booties to protect our dogs' paws.

Quiet, sites are private and beach is perfect.

It was our second time camping here and it wont be our last! We love Frisco..You have to be ready for boondock style camping as there are no hookups. One thing to be aware of are the SandspursThey are very prevalent.. But its a beautiful place to explore

Beautiful camp ground in the dunes with magnificent views. Only down side were the sand spurs. If you have a dog, bring rubber booties. No open camp fires allowed so bring a propane fire pit if you want a fire. Beach fires are allowed with a permit. Get it from the Frisco rod and gun club at the entrance to the campground. They are free. We went late in the season so we had almost the whole place to ourselves. Easy OHV access to the beach or one can walk the many paths through the dunes.

Clean, beautiful and peaceful in late October.

Overall it was a nice experience but the site had not been mowed/cared for even though we had booked well in advance. We couldnt use the picnic table, grill, or any area other than the concrete slab due to all the sticker bushes at the site. Our poor dog was covered in them.

The campground itself is beautiful and I have stayed here many times. The last time however I was bracketed by noisy college students that kept me up until 4 AM. Sleepless , I tore down camp at first light after the first night and left. Rude, inconsiderate people can be found anywhere though. I would definitely try this campground again

Great location. Clean and quiet. What more can you ask for? 5

Pretty quiet except for a new neighbor that stayed 1 night with his loud boom box in his car thumping longer than it should have. Sandspurs everywhere, so don't bring your dog unless you're willing to walk a quarter mile to the sandy road for them to do their business. 2 bars for amazon cell service. Sites are not big rig friendly, but some area P sites were bigger. Lots of room for surf fishing. Locals were friendly. Great sandwich shop at the turn off of rte 12.

The most beautiful campground on the Outer Banks. Best campsites flanked with live oaks and bushes. Easy beach access. Nearby grocery store.
@RosalindTDF68B · Camped on Sep 27, 2024 at Campsite #B5
This is an excellent beach camping spot! Campsites are private, bathrooms are clean, and the beach is beautiful. The campground maintains the natural beauty of the outer banks. With that comes a few mosquitos and sand spurs. Be sure to bring your bug repellent and wear shoes in the grassy areas. If you have a 4 wheel derive vehicle you can get a permit to drive right onto the beach. If not, there is a lovely walkway that will take you there. This walkway is also the end of the NC Mountains to Sea Trail.

I love this campground, but I wish there was a bit of beach with no truck access. The bathrooms were really clean and the night sky program was great! We had a wonderful time!!
@AliceC7B9D3619 · Camped on Sep 21, 2024 at Campsite #C3
The campground was beautifully laid out with paved roads and paved RV parking. The restrooms were clean but with the constant open door there was always a lot of mosquitos in the restroom. The campsites were well spaced from each other offering decent privacy and greenery. The beach was absolutely beautiful. It is very wide and has very soft sand (no hard shells to walk on). Vehicles could get a permit and drive on the beach as well. Such a beautiful place. We will be sure and return. Although there is no RV dump within this campsite, there is one not very far away (see Ranger station for directions).

Cockroaches galore!! I like the privacy of this site, although evey single vehicle leaving the Campground, because of one way roads, has to drive by it so the road is quite busy. I have been staying at Frisco Campground for at least 10 years now and several times at this particular site. Unfortunately the last two times at this particular site I had to deal with an infestation of cockroaches. They were in the legs of the picnic table, I found them crawling on the steps of my camper, and when I picked up a propane cylinder I sat on the pavement overnight, about 10 scattered to the surroundings. Be advised!!!

Recommend the Tavern on 12 for lunch or dinner. Located right before the turn in to the campground on the right.

Really enjoyed the trees and vegiatation coverage so our campsite was not totally out in the sun. It was quiet and so close to the beach.
@JamesM9879118 · Camped on Aug 25, 2024 at Campsite #P010
Cozy campsites with some shade in some, so select carefully. Easy walk to the beach with warm beautiful water and nice sandy beach.
@JessicaJ378715 · Camped on Aug 21, 2024 at Campsite #D10
We love this campground! It is a long walk to the beach though. So we went down to the beach near the old lighthouse site at Hatteras, just a short walk from the parking lot!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
