unless you want to smell the porta-potty/bathroom during your stay then I wouldnt book this site. Bathrooms may need to be cleared out. Unpleasant smell during our weekend.

Excellent place to camp, clean and very safe bathrooms and the water is great.

Lots of wildlife, there were spiders and tarantulas but we only visibly came across them the first night as we arrived at sundown to unpack tents etc. the water was a hike to get to and there were lots of little leech -like insects if you waded in muddy part of water (kids), so check skin after, they came right off but was not fun. We had a large party w 3 campsites and the favorite was the ADA site as it was leveled, graveled and did not have as many ants or spiders.

Fully natural campsite with a magnificant lake you may swim in. We loved the place sooo much!

The description of the campsite I chose was completely inaccurate. Port-a-potties were available instead of bathrooms. I just left and did not even stay in the site I booked because it was so awful.

A lot of deer and wild turkeys near our site. Clean, mostly flat pad. Site 12 is just too close to the main road. Tons of traffic early in the morning as boater come in. Also, not as much safe as needed. It gets very hot in the afternoon. Ranger was by multiple times a day. Bathroom was clean. Showers worked fine. A group of campers in our area were very loud after 10pm(quiet hours). Acorn sites are no where near swimming. Overall, I had a good time but would prefer a different site in the future.

Its the prime spot to be at. The ground is mostly level with lever blocks. Great view of the lake. Only thing is beware if you have dogs foxtails everywhere this year more then any other year that I can remember there.

It was a fun experience. The facilities were clean and easy to get to.

Campsite was clean, but had tall weeds. Bathrooms were closed - Porta potty was supplied, but bathrooms are better. Previous camper did not clear out until after 2pm

We partied so hard!! Good job the place was empty.

Fair. Condition, cleanliness, activities, etc - fair. Trails need some work, not that clean but fine, disc golf course was unusable, lady ranger was a bit unpleasant, wanting me to park on the road on the peninsula, instead of the pullout...she could use some guidance and/or personalization skills, but everything was fair/fine, just needs some attention. Same goes for pricing. If it's not going to be ready, prices should reflect.

If you have a trailer parked at this site it has a steep drop when your getting in and out of your trailer be careful. Perfect lake view. The water was almost up to the picnic bench last time we went there. It is a bit of steep lil trail to get to your fire pit and picnic bench. There are foxtails everywhere just be aware with your doggies

Awesome flower blooms nearby, great campsite, pretty views and access to the water. I appreciate how clean the campgrounds and trails were. The rangers were also super friendly and informative.

Went there twice during winter months. The place is quite beautiful and quiet with very few campers. We'll try summer next time. There is a great almost-level hiking loop of 6+ miles that we love to hike. The hot water showers are a big plus. Overall well maintained and clean.

Beautiful area. Not crowded

Fantastic place. Water was relatively high, decent amount of kindling for firewood, and above all, Ranger Pat Sanders is a treasure and a veritable pantheon of knowledge and expertise. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing, and well-maintained campground.

Beautiful camping spot on the lake, in the foothills close to Sonora. The facilities were well maintained and much appreciated.

Everything was clean. Bathrooms were clean and had TP. Took our Troop Showshoeing up Hwy 4. Only other group in camp was another Boy Scout Troop. This was in January. Heavy rain both days. Our sites did not flood so good grading on the sites.
@TerranceR97F24 · Camped on Nov 28, 2023 at Campsite #69
Was a great spot, quiet for the most part and spent half the night playing with a trash panda. Only down falls were little to no access trails to the water and then somehow the gat is supposed to close after 9pm yet we got disturbed by tweaker locals digging through the trash cans racing around for scrap at 10pm roughly. But in all was a great 1 night stay over.

I like the security / ranger patrols every two hours throughout the day.Vault toilets would benefit from bi-weekly high-pressure injections of enzymatic/aerobic solution to control odors.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
