We had a great weekend at Acorn Campground and look forward to returning. We did not use the restrooms, but others that were camping with us did, and the report was less than great, but that can be improved upon.

Quiet, not too close to neighbors at most sites

Great campground. My particular spot was a little noisy but thats because it was on the outside road side of the campground. Not much that can be done about that.

We had a wonderful family time, and the weather was perfect! The family hiked down by the water and around the campground.

It was clean but the restroom in the loop i was in the men's shower was broken and the toilet was dirty so I just drove to a different rrestroom but in all it was a good experience

Ranger told us we had to leave, even though we had paid for the reservation and campground was basically empty, then charged us $30 of $40 for cancellation fee. Still has not responded to our request for refund. No light in any women's shower, one of the doors won't stay open and no handle on inside if doir, I was very nearly trapped in there. I would not go back if I had other options, and don't think that ranger has the people skills necessary to do that job

Sometimes it is wonderful to camp at Acorn Campground. More often there are too many rude, inconsiderate people either playing loud music all night, loudly talking until midnight, or more often: driving in and out at all hours of the night. I know this is random and unpredictable, but last time someone drove up to the bathroom at 1 or 2 am, and left their car running for 20 or more minutes, perhaps 15 feet away from where I was trying to sleep. Another time someone kept leaving their campground every one or two hours ALL NIGHT-- again with their car idling. I really enjoy camping at Acorn and we usually go once a week all season- but too often, especially in Fall, it is crazy all night and extremely disruptive. Is this maybe a place where homeless come in at night to use the facilities? Or are people just inconceivably rude nowadays.

Nice back-in site off the beaten path away from jet skiers, etc. Full morning sun with decent shade later on. Site 99 next door seems very nice too, both with close access to the shoreline for wading or fishing. Leave the boating, etc.for the west side loop area.

Beautiful lake. Limited amount of shade. Make sure to bring your own toilet paper and a good flashlight because the bathroom lights were minimal.

It was awesome. The only problem was that there was no toilet seat in the mens bathroom.

From Sunday night to Thursday night it was quiet. But Friday and Saturday nights are nothing but a party all night long, with no authority around. Worst campground I've been to, with a year into my travels. It made walmart look good!

We really enjoyed our stay at Acorn Campground. Only small complaints I have is the bathroom nearest our site #92, the toilet paper was never filled and one of the urinals was backed up and out of service and stank the bathroom up badly. Erosion off the edges of most of the sites pavement needs attention, very steep and high drop offs, ankle twisters. We understand the campground has some age to it, but we thank you for the low cost to camp here and the senior discount available with the senior pass.The campground was very clean and quiet, wildlife everywhere, deer, quail, vultures, toads, egrets etc.We will be back!

Great shaded spot, close to the water. Lots of open area for flying my kite. Fun neighbors. Will be back! ~Darla

Made great memories with my family, bathrooms very clean and the scenery was amazing. Best camp ground to visit every time for my kids.

Great Lake. Camping spots were hard to pick out since most of the pictures they used were from a while ago and dont really show how slanted the spots are for the tents. Rangers do their usual rounds often but stop after 12am. Take extra Toilet Paper. It is very dusty and rocky. The lake itself was very refreshing. All the jet skis and boats scare off the fish so fishing was a fail. Take ear plugs because some other people are very loud during quiet hours. Take some games and A projector. Overall would visit again. Had campsites 91 & 92

The campsite was quiet during the week now , the water is nice and refreshing, the only issues are people dont pick up trash and its trash all over. Disappointed with that, bathroom was also gross but could have been worse . It wasnt crowded mid week which was nice!

Our campsite was nice, with a few trees and backed up to a grassy area between the campsite and the lake. The shower closest to us was not functioning. As a result, people took "showers" at the faucet uphill and the runoff pooled by our picnic table. The lake is mucky, lots of slimy moss on the rocks in the water. The only other drawback is there are lots of sharp shale rocks that hurt our dogs' feet. We will buy shoes for our dogs next time.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
