Campground was nice we had a great site #23. Bathrooms were in dire need of cleaning of cobwebs. The road into the campground and portions of the loop are a disaster. I cant believe you cant find the funds to at least chipseal the road.

This is one of my favorites! So quiet and peaceful. Good kayaking in Martis Lake next door. Ill be bringing my own drinking water next time, though. The water tastes horrible which is strange because Truckee has great tasting tap water.

I visited Alpine Meadow in mid September and mid week. There were very few visitors in the campground. The sites are mostly level and well maintained. It is a short walk to Martis Lake and some trails around the lake. Very quiet for being so close to Truckee.

Great quiet camping spot! There are only 25 sites and it was well spread out so it didnt feel crowded at all. We really felt like we were in the wild but also such a short way from Truckee downtown which was great for dinner one night and to go to the store. The facilities are pretty minimal with vault toilets and only running water for hand washing and refilling water bottles. The airport is quite close as well so we did hear some airplane noise during the day but nothing at night so it wasnt really disruptive. Close to some amazing hikes above Tahoe and Donner Lakes. We saw no bears which was great! We previously have camped in South Lake tahoe but its very crowded and noisy there. We will definitely be back to this campsite. Feels like a hidden gem!

Sweet, clean campground. No hookups but great for a couple of days of trailer camping.

Loved this quiet site. Felt peaceful and calm. Theres a body of water nearby but you need to drive or ride a bike (dusty trail). Camp host was nice. I have T Mobile and excellent cell service. Very close to North Star.

Very loud, drunk neighbors who left a pile of trash for next campers. Campground hosts did nothing to address issue.

Amazing campsite with amazing views. The only problem was the airport, when we were visiting around 1-3 am we heard airplanes taking off. We were really surprised not to hear the highway, but it was relatively quiet. The overall campsite was really nice, you are spaced away from everyone and it is really quiet. The lake is also phenomenal, as we were fishing, which was unsuccessful , we saw a hawk dive into the lake. Overall this campsite was awesome, definitely plan on returning, and defiantly recommend.

Love this campground and how quiet and spread out it is

I loved this place. Beautiful setting in the pines. Small lake nearby. Beware though, it's close to the area's regional airport. There will be some jet and prop airplane noise. I'm a professional pilot, so it was music to my ears but, you may not feel the same way.

I am a return visitor & really like this campground, but It was very, very hot! I ended up driving down to the Truckee Regional Park & parked as close to the river as I could until evening. My campsite happened to have zero shade in the afternoon & little Martis Lake, near there, has no trees by the beaches. I took my big, black dog there anyway to let him cool off, but I won't ever reserve a campsite there again- that doesnt have shade when its so incredibly hot.

a lovely overnight with great trails all around.

No big complaints. I really liked that the all of the camp sites had trails to the bathroom which makes it easy to find at night. The sites were pretty clean and maintained. I would stay there again.

Our biggest concern and complaint would be lack of Camp Host cleaning and restocking bathroom. Luckily we had our own toilet paper, but it was never restocked while we were there a week. We think the host needs to do a better job in cleaning bathrooms. Loved our site and the jets that came over the valley. Truckee airport is close by.

Nice campground! Off the beaten path, quiet and secluded. Would stay again!

Great site. Mosquitos! Make sure all food is done and in bear boxes by dark. There was a black bear that was not afraid of anything going site to site, like he was at a grocery store.

We stayed twice on week nights in May and it was very quiet (can't vouch for weekends). It is a smallish campground with ample water spigots and clean, lighted bathrooms at the center of the loop for easy access. We stayed in sites 11 and 4 and both had lovely views. The sites are well graded and surfaced with gravel to keep the dirt and dust down. There are nice lantern-hanging poles at each site. The drive to Lake Tahoe is convenient and Truckee is quite close. There is an airport nearby, but planes were small, relatively infrequent, and didn't seem to fly at night. Martis Creek Lake is adjacent to the campground for some quiet, uncrowded lake time. We'll be back!

Great location - close to highway access but not so close as to feel like you're on the side of the road. The sites are spacious with lots of wildlife, plants and trees. Just a short walk to a nice wildlife recreations area. We were very happy with the stay and would return.

Very nice, quiet park. Large spaces, roomy sites - neighbors far away. We have been here several times and will continue to come.

Best secret of Truckee and Tahoe

We liked campsite 6. Theres enough distance between the other campsites and its close enough were your car is accessible. Its also close to the restroom.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
