Prosser campground was absolutely beautiful. Our spot was clean and quiet. We were close to the bathrooms. The bathrooms were in excellant condition.

There was no water. Check ahead so you don't get bushwhacked. This was a one-nighter for us and we would not have stayed any longer unless we had brought our kayaks.

Camphost was awesome! He came over and greeted us on the first day and said goodbye on the last day. Even brought us some firewood.

This is a nice, quiet, well-managed campground in what is otherwise the super-busy Truckee area. I gave it 4 stars only because of the water situation. I understand that pipes need to be repaired, but money is apparently not available to get it done. It doesn't seem to keep people away (we brought enough water for our 4-night family camp), so you do need to reserve. The sites are level and easy to back a small trailer into. Prosser Reservoir, a nature preserve, is within a short walk. We like wildlife and birdwatching, so we appreciate that no motorized boats are allowed.

My camp site was spacious and had a little trail leading down to the lake. While there were plenty of other folks at the campground, everyone was really respectful, quiet, and friendly. The campsite had plenty of flat spots for setting up a tent. Bathrooms were very clean. Be sure to bring plenty of water when potable water is not available.

Well maintained campground. It was full of folks over the holiday weekend and toilets were never smelly or dirty. Site 28 is next to the road and noise was never a problem. It was a large space as well! Will be back!

This is a beautiful campground. However, it is long over due for the drinking water to be made available to all of the campers.

My brother invited me for the weekend and I ended up staying for 2 weeks. It's a beautiful peaceful place. Richard the camp host is very nice and helpful. I spent basically the 1st 2 weeks of September and the weather was perfect. The only issue I had is that there is so much tree cover I had problems charging my solar generator, luckily I didn't need to use my starlink because there is good cell service. The trees were great for shade though!

Most amazing campground, great views, distance between each site, and had balloons fly over

The camp Host, Richard, was outstanding! Friendly, kind, a wonderful man! And he kept the campers from violating the rules which is very appreciated. The campground was fairly quiet with only one group keeping their heavy base thumping until 10 pm one night. Otherwise, our 3 day weekend stay was wonderful in mid August.

Nice campground with plenty of space between campsites. Other than an occasional generator (no hookups available), it's very quiet. Prosser Reservoir within walking distance. Approximately half mile down road is a boat launch . Many hiking/biking trails in the area and town of Truckee an easy 15 minute drive away. There was no potable water available during our stay. Pit toilets were well stocked and adequately clean. Would definitely stay at Prosser Family Campground again.

Last year's Family Camp-out at Logger(Stampede Reservoir) at 30% capacity in the lake, the water was closer than anywhere at this campsite. We knew there wasn't potable water... but it would have been nice to know the only available fire wood(for cooking smores with the grand kids) was at the Truckee Safeway at $34 per box...we needed 2 for the 2 nights. Last year it was $15 a box a short walk from the site. And then we were badgered by the rangers for $5 over a car.

Prosser is a great little campground, but it is one of those campgrounds where the quality of the visit depends on your neighbors. We had one day out of three where there could have been a little better control of the amplified music - it wasn't terrible or real loud, but is that really why you go out into the woods? To fire up a generator just so you can play some hard rock? No one wants to hear it.Getting to the lake from camp is easily walkable down the main road... but it is a walk. It's too bad there isn't a trail directly from the camp to the lake (which would be half as far). There is also no drinking water there for the 2023 season.So, that's the slightly negatives, but overall, it very pretty, peaceful most of the time, and it is a pretty reservoir (but muddy bottom). The vault toilets were clean and amazingly odor-free.

The site was clean, quiet, and away from crowds.

Beautiful location ! Far from the road, very quiet, close to the lake. We came in a 28 RV and never felt too close from our neighbors . 15 from Truckee which have plenty of store for refill.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
