I've loved this part of our Black Hills for many years. Quiet sites and a nice walk to the lake area.

The campground was very well kept and the Host was very friendly and eager to accommodate for our stay. All the guests there at this time were very considerate of everyone's privacy and maintained themselves per the rules.

We love camping at Roubaix lake but this trip was filled with dogs running off leash, generators running around the clock, and drunk people yelling at all hours of the evening. We will be back but hope to go back to our normal spot away from so much rudeness

This campsite was beautiful! Our lot was right on the lake and even though there was a lot of kids down by the lake all day, the noise did not carry very much. The campsite hosts were welcoming and helpful during the whole stay. The grounds were clean and easy to find. There were plenty of places to go walking around the site as well. The only thing that I would say is that the bathrooms near our lot were pretty gross and did not lock at all. Also notable, no cell service which is okay for me but not everyone may like that.What we did: Deadwood was only a few miles away! Lots of restaurants and bars as well as live music. We also were able to spend a day in Custer and Keystone (only about an hour away.) Perfect for hiking and sightseeing.

Fairly empty. Host was nice but a little too bureaucratic. Lake and hiking trails were not great.

Beautiful and spacious campsites in a picturesque wooded national forest. The host was awesome as well. We would definitely stay here again!

The campground has large individual sites, plenty of room for family to play without disturbing neighbors. Camp hosts are friendly and helpful. The area is beautiful and centrally located to all black hills attractions

Beautiful spot, great site, considerate friendly hosts. Would have been 5 star except for $8.00 firewood, that is outrageous!

We were there at the end of June 2023. Very nice area, very few mosquitos, and great hosts.

Beautiful spot, very convenient to all attractions and camp host friendly and available.

Nice sites. Campground name should be changed to Roubaix Pond rather than Lake as it is essentially a SMALL pond!

Pretty much a good trip, with the exception of the fact that I was not feeling well at all. The campground is great and the site is also excellent. Hoping to have another great stay soon.

Normal Forest service campsite. Lots of ORV traffic and noise. Definitely not quiet.

48-D. Has room for 2 tents, one big, one small. There are some dead falls around if you're adventurous and have a small hand saw. This site is about 100 yards from the nearest outhouse and water supply. The water near the lake picnic area was shut off during our visit.

We have stayed at Roubaix Lake Campground every year since 1962. It is very well maintained and love being in the forest. This years host/hostess, Jason and Brenda, are friendly and do a great job of maintaining the camp. We will be back next year!

Good setting and clean facilities. Lake is on the small side, but very picturesque with a nice little beach.
@JeanD4918241 · Camped on Aug 21, 2022 at Campsite #29
I very much appreciate the tent only loop, minimizing chances of a generator running all day. The sites were big and well groomed. The lake is small and beautiful. Vault toilets are old and definitely stinky. Day use area was busy on the weekend and early mornings. A very enjoyable stay.

Family camping trip: We enjoyed a variety of activities from swimming, paddleboarding, fishing and a little hiking and mountain biking. Outhouse type bathrooms that were clean and kept supplied with toilet paper. Water spigot for handwashing and filling our water supply needs. No cellphone connection, which I liked in order to relax and unplug. Our campsite had pretty good spacing from neighboring sites, however some sites were closer together.

The sites are nice enough but be sure and fill your fresh water tank. The Camp host has a fresh water faucet that is close to the road that he is hooked to but he isn't about to let you fill your tank with it. He told me I would have to use a water jug and one of the faucets located throughout the park to fill my RV tank. He also said don't let me catch you connecting a hose to the faucet because I'll have to cancel your reservation. The fresh water faucets located throughout the park do not have threads to connect a hose. Try filling a 110 gallon tank using a one gallon jug. Needless to say I paid the RV park on the highway to use their water faucet to fill my tank. I really don't see the purpose of having a camp host. He doesn't do anything but complain.

We truly enjoyed our camping experience at Roubaix Lake. The campground is peaceful and far enough off the road that you don't hear much traffic and the campsites are far enough apart that they are private. We stayed in the B loop which seemed to be the least busy and crowded of all of the loops. There were plenty of places to set up a tent at campsite 18 and we liked how our fire pit had two separate sections with their own handle, allowing us to cook on half of it and still feed the fire with new wood. I would recommend a sleep pad for this campground as there are lots of small rocks and pine cones. We were a little nervous as the forecasted high temperatures that day were in the high 90s. However, the location of the campsite was well shaded and the campground quickly cooled in the evening, making cooking over a fire even possible. We even ended up sleeping inside of our sleeping bags that night! There are easy access trails to the lake and it is a beautiful area. Our only complaint was the amount of flies that were in the vault toilet enclosure, but otherwise they were clean. Would definitely come back.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
