Bandy Creek Campground is part of Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area in Tennessee (1 hr 30 min northeast of Cookeville, TN) with an elevation of 1,562 feet. There are a total of 144 campsites. The campground is open all year. 107 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 25 and 73 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 95 sites have electric and water hookups. Fees range from $20.00 to $125.00. Some amenities include shower, drinking water, dump station, accessible, playground, swimming, restroom, trash dumpster, amphitheater, flush toilets. Activities include biking, fishing, horseback riding, hiking trails, floating sports.

Big South Fork is one of my all-time favorite places

This was our first visit to the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. It is a wonderful park and we look forward to returning for another visit. We camped at Bandy Creek in Loop D. This is am excellent campground with great sites and very good restrooms. Even during this off season the Camp Store was open at the Bandy Creek visitor's center. The store is located at horse stables. You can even buy wood and ice after hours with cash or Venmo on the honor system. The firewood was excellent straight grain oak that was dry and split easy. We hiked several trails and for the most part they were all well marked. With thick leaf deposits covering parts of the trails we only got off the path a couple of times. I would download trail maps (we used Apple maps) to your phone as cell service was limited in some areas.

The campground was great! Water and bath house were conveniently located and easy to get to. The rangers were knowledgeable and helpful.The trail from Leatherwood Ford to O&W bridge was really nice. I definitely want to come back again.

Fall is my favorite season to be outdoors. Weather watching is a must and being adequately prepared for changing conditions is essential. Found the campground to be well maintained, clean showers and bathrooms are heated and well lit. Friendly and helpful staff. A relaxing few days of quiet time following this crazy election.

The campsites are great because there is plenty of room between each site. The bathrooms are clean and the endless hot water in the showers is key to survival. As always, Bandy Creek is awesome. Thanks for all of the heard work y'all do to keep it nice.

Great campground! If you want to completely disconnect from the online life this is your campground. Cell service is spotty even with a cell booster. The sites have water and electrical connections only. A single dump station, so be sure to bring a portable sewer tank. There are bath houses as well as playgrounds for the kids. Fairly level sites as well. They also have a pool open during the summer.

I have camped many times in Bandy Creek. The campsites are spacious, the bathhouse is great, and the weather was perfect.

My friends and stayed two nights at the Bandy Creek campground at Big South Fork recently. The bathrooms were well maintained. The mens showers had plenty of hot water. Ordinarily at campsites, the area where the tents set up can barely accommodate two 2-person tents. Our site had plenty of room to spread out. That was really appreciated! Also, the tent area had plenty of separation from the RVs. That also works out better.

We originally reserved an electric site but changed it to nonelectric once we got to the campground. It was absolutely beautiful!! There was a sink to wash dishes at the bathhouse so not having water was not an inconvenience!

Tent site A20:1. Quiet2. Easy walk to bath house. 3. Site is nice, but does have mud that runs across the paved parking apron and it did rain during my stay. 4. Bath house is comfortable and clean, but shower stalls need more and better towel/clothing hooks. The stubby, chrome hooks are nearly worthless. 5. Great starting point for hikes and mountain biking.

We have camped at Bandy Creek several times. It is only a couple of hours from our house, and it is a GREAT campground! Nice bath houses, with a dishwashing station. The campsites are generally very good, and some are open all year. We love Big South Fork, for its beauty, and it is much less crowded than the Smokies. So many trails to explore! One could easily stay a week or longer here, and never get bored.
