unexpectedly beautiful campground. We had site #3 and stay one more night at site #1Even though the lake was artificially created, it is a very beautiful place.The bathrooms are very well maintained and were extremely clean!The highlight, in addition to the many alligators in the lake, was that we were able to see a bear in the morning directly behind site #3 (about 100 feet away)

Well maintained campground with clean bathrooms and a hot water shower. Perfect for a peaceful retreat away from populated coasts of South Florida.The hosts are exceptionally friendly and accommodating, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.

Wir hatten pure Entspannung mit ein wenig Thrill. Im See eher nicht baden. Die Alligatoren mgen das nicht. Anlage super sauber und gepflegt. Moskitospray nicht vergessen. Viel Spa

Mostly empty campground which was great! There were just enough neighbors to enjoy and play with our kids. Restrooms were clean. So many activities to enjoy at Big Cypress and free canoeing and wet walks.

Loved the area and the hosts were kind. The camp sites were very close together. Saw a gator. Could hear the animals.

Everything you could want in a tent campsite. Access to a nice bathroom and is relatively quiet. Our second time here!

Good clean facilities. Friendly camp host and beautiful property. Gators by the lake

Gators in the lake were cool. Weather was hot, humid, and buggy which was a little uncomfortable without electricity. Info board at entrance was helpful. Enjoyed wildlife including birds, dragonflies, and butterflies. Visitor center staff was good. Activities and sights all required driving. Canoe trip was booked a few weeks out.

The campground was perfect! The restrooms and showers were clean. Everyone was quiet in the evenings and there wasn't a lot of light pollution from other campers so we were able to view the sky! There was a resident gator was out monitoring his domain and rightfully sun soaking. We saw turkeys and lots of other birds. Mosquitos everywhere so bring your bug spray and wood for fires at night. Golden hour is beautiful on the lake. Big Cypress I will be back! Location was about 25 mins to the Everglades City and Everglades NP & 1.5 hours from Miami.

Great campground to spend time in Big Cypress National Preserve. All sites surround the lake and have a lake view. Everyone was quiet and the campground was kept very neat and tidy. The park is well enough away from any city so star gazing is amazing.

We had a great stay, sites were well maintained and open, and plenty of room between campsites. Good central location to drive and see other places in the everglades. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Had a great stay in tent site #12, hosts were friendly. Did a lot of exploring from Monument lake.

NOT CLEAR PARKING!!! You have to drive over the grass to your spot to park for tent camping. At night the fire rings are not visible. Long story short . . . I hit one with the front of my car and blew out the tire. My next-door tent neighbor also hit his car on a fire ring the night before. Monument Lake should either add a reflective coating to the fire rings or create paved parking areas so that this doesn't happen in the future. Bummer to spend $185 on a new tire on my vacation!

Arrived following a poring rain on bicycles and the host and hostess could not have been more accomodating to us. From making sure our sites were as high (and dry) as possible to using the bathroom facilities to get dried out they were super helpful. We just wish that the rain had let up for us to see the star show it is famous for.

Nice campground. Clean toilets (cleaned every day). Overall impressions are satisfactory. You can spend a couple of days in this place. The only negative is that there are no attractions around, but people come here for peace and nature.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
