Very clean

We found our site easily but the check in process wasnt clear. We also didnt realize the campsites have no water hook up so we had to fill our holding tank a couple of times while there. Also the bathrooms were nicely cleaned but there are no showers there. The hosts were friendly and helpful and we had really nice fellow campers.

Quiet campground, the rangers were awesome and very informative, no showers which was not a problem at all, a lot of attractions near by, oasis visitor center, 24 mile loop was a must see, lots of great fishing, beware of the resident alligator

Well maintained campground. Facilities include large sites, electricity, rest rooms with flush toilets, dump station and potable water. Midway CG centrally located within Big Cypress National Preserve.

We have camped here 3 times. Very clean. No showers or dishwashing so prepare for that. It is centrally located to many activities. The stars are great at night. Very few bugs during the spring; no mosquitoes during the dry season.

Wonderful surprise!This was a last-ditch option trying to make progress toward the Keys. I figured itd be a nothing-night stay. Instead, it was a beautiful drive to it at sunset; the campgrounds were well-attended yet silent; the night sky was dark and I saw a shooting star. Up early the next day: great head start before South Florida traffic. Great campsite.

The Midway campground was midway between our activities. The host at the campground gave us recommendations. She told us to make a reservation to do the tram ride at Shark Valley. It was a two hour ride and it was informative and we saw many alligators and birds and went up in the observation deck. She told us to drive Loop Road and that was a two hour ride but very nice. Then, we went the opposite direction to explore Everglades City. We visited the SmallWood Store in Chokoloskee which is well worth the visit. And, we were able to use the Monument Campgrounds showers which is just 7 miles away.

Nice campground but no showers. The facilities are there to add showers. Should be done.

Nice little campground. Staff was friendly and informative. Near several attractions.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Midway Campground. Nice and quiet with clean bathrooms. However, I do wish they had a bathhouse on site, otherwise it's lovely.Nice and close to Everglades National Park - Shark Valley Visitor Center (must see) and the Big Cypress National Preserve - Oasis Visitor Center & Boardwalk (lot's of wildlife to see).We well definitely be back!

Immaculate grounds. Sites are level concrete with a picnic table. Electricity pedestal was in good shape (50A service). Potable water and sanitary dump station very conveniently located near the entrance. Centrally located dumpster for trash disposal. No cell service or OTA TV, but that's what we came for. Excellent Starlink service provided connectivity for communications and Internet. Remote site that offers up outstanding dark sky night astrophotography. At a minimum, you need to drive The Loop Road for seeing some of the abundant Everglades animal life. The history of the area is also very interesting. We were just passing through and stopped for 2 nights, but will make this a destination stop in the future!

We only stayed one night as we were transiting through but we found the grounds to be well kept and very suitable. They could stand to trim the trees back away from some of the sites.

Nice clean campground, enjoyed our stay

Barking dogs were a problem. I would like to see a camping section for campers without pets. The sites are close and a barking dog right beside you is a nuisance.

Midway campground is a hidden gem midway between Miami and Naples! Especially with electrical hook ups!! It is a quiet little oasis along 41 with a picturesque small lake and wonderful campground hosts in season. We make it a point to break up our trip to and from the Florida Keys here every year. We were lucky enough to be there recently on an evening where there was a Ranger talk!!

Very nice place to stay in the heart of the Everglades. The night sky is beautiful.

Nice clean with easy access. Just wish they had showers.
@StevenW5993867 · Camped on Feb 26, 2025 at Campsite #23
Very quite and night darkness was great for star gazing. Camp hosts were very cordial and informative. Only reason we did not give 5 stars was there are no showers, which would be helpful since no full hook up sites. Our campsite had good shade.
@SusanK2706776 · Camped on Feb 24, 2025 at Campsite #17
Midway is peaceful, clean, and relaxing. Having to drive 7 miles to get a shower isn't ideal, but we combined it with a drive on the loop road and it was fantastic!

This is a small, clean, well-located campground, good for exploring Shark Valley in Everglades, Big Cypress National Preserve, Everglades City and Chokoloskee. Bathrooms were spotless, even though they got a lot of use, due to a combination of respectful campers and good staff. Lovely shade trees at many of the sites, some with air plants blooming. Camp staff are very helpful. Rangers come by to notify campers of programs happening at the CG. Electric hook-ups at each site and water fill station and dump station at the front of the campground. Showers can be had at Monument Lake CG, about 10 miles west. There are two drawbacks to this CG. First, there is virtually no connectivity. Nearest cell tower is 10 miles away at Monument Lake CG. We don't have a cell booster so that may give you service. Second, it's not great for dogs as there is a giant pond in the middle of the CG and you are warned to stay far away from it due to gators. Most of the grass is around that pond. You are also warned not to walk too close to the back edge of the park due to gators. We were there in the dry season so didn't see any in the park, and we did run our dog on the grassy area in the front of the campground gates but that's by the road so you can only do that if your dog is very obedient, which is ours is. But if you can overlook these two factors, and you are there to explore the area, this is a good choice. We camped at Big Cypress National Preserve, Midway Campground in a Motorhome.

Clean toilets. Very attentive camp ranger. A good option for a couple of nights with a tent as there are no showers. The only negative point is the traffic noise as it is close to the road.

50amp service was nice

Small, quiet campground is near several interesting places in Big Cypress National Preserve. Very clean, and the maintenance person, Troy, was very helpful. No showers, but if you're staying there, you can use the showers at Monument Lake about 4 miles away. We had no cell service, but had a strong signal at Monument Lake. This is the only campground in Big Cypress with electrical service. The Oasis Visitor Center is a couple of miles away. The rangers have lots of good information and the boardwalk is a great way to view alligators.While there, take the 24 mile Loop Road scenic drive to see mire alligators and a variety of wading birds.

A friendly, quiet campground. Great place to wind down. Host, Jim, was chatty and helpful. Note: mobile phone service (Verizon) was poor throughout campground.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
