The camp managers were amazing and met all of our expectations. There was an issue with our reservation and they helped us figure it out. I wish we could have said good bye and thank you in person. They also let the camp ground spotless.

Big Bend never disappoints me weve been visiting the park for years.

This campsite was awesome. The bathrooms were very clean, the water was accessible and tasty. The campground was well spaced and quiet. The view of the sunset was beautiful. We saw many birds and the close access to the nature trail was convenient.

The national park itself is very nice. We found that the unimproved roads were very hard on our vehicles. Its amazing that a park like this has that many unimproved roads. Additionally, the park is very large and drive times to get to main attractions require lots of extra planning. Cell signal is marginal. The group D campsite has a ridiculously long hike from the parking spaces to the campsite. Especially if you have lots of camping gear and equipment that you typically use at a primitive campsite, the wildlife that we encountered at our campsite include roadrunners, javelinas, wild steer and coyotes. You absolutely cannot leave food out, and the park does not allow anything to hang from trees. This includes hammocks, solar, powered lights, and a hang line for drying clothes. this specific site would be good for a group of backpackers, it is not very conducive for families camping with young children. In preparation for the camping trip we checked Weather on multiple sources before we left. Unfortunately a storm with 30 mile an hour winds and 50 mile an hour gust came through and pretty much demolished our campsite. The temperature dropped every night 40.Dont forget that if you would like to shower on your trip, each shower cost two dollars in quarters for five minutes and we found that if you didnt have cash to swap in for quarters you are out of luck. This is ridiculous, given that most state parks have free showers, and other accommodations.All of this to be said, we very much enjoyed our hike to balancing rock plan to put on sunscreen as there is no shade, and its a little bit longer than you initially anticipate walking in the desert. The springs are definitely worth a trip, potentially more than once, we enjoyed going around 715 at night and enjoy the sunset. Keep in mind you may want to leave before the sun completely sets as the road is a little narrow. Lastly, the lost mine trail is well worth the 6am wake up call. Sunrise was great!

Great site! Large and convenient to bathrooms and camp store. Has been our go-to site for several years.

Awesome National Park.

Our campsite was amazing, but without water the only shower options were at the village store (run by Aramark, a private company, NOT the park) and they charge outrageous prices to shower, so plan on bringing lots of quarters for a few minutes of shower time in low quality, poorly maintained shower facilities, or plan to go without showers during your stay. The park rangers were WONDERFUL and super helpful and friendly, the park is BEAUTIFUL and the wildlife is just everywhere and amazing to see so close up. All of the Park run areas were wonderful and the only poor experiences we had were with the private company that recently bought out the village store and RV camping areas. The Aramark company is a blight on the whole experience and I wish we could completely avoid any further interactions with that company. Its a real shame that they are giving a bad name to the park experience.

The biggest disappoint was that the showers/washing machine area did not have a change machine. If you didn't have $2 in quarters, and it was after 5pm you could not get a shower because there is no change machine to provide quarters and the store was closed to provide change. The NPS should not be this cheap. Get a change machine for the Rio Grande Village Campground!

Plenty of space for groups and tents including picnic tables.

We had an incredible. The campsite was clean, restrooms were close, and the bear boxes are plenty big. We arrived on a new moon so star gazing was out of this world, came back with beautiful photographs. Hiking trails are relatively close, and horseback rides are available in nearby towns. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely plan to come back.

This was a great site; access to lots of hiking trails (Hot Springs (both ends)/Boquillas Canyon, Rio Grande Nature Trail), easy drive-up access, smooth/even ground for tents, bear boxes for storage, picnic tables, nearby bathrooms (cleaned daily). Couple of things to note, we had no cell phone service in this area; temperature drops went from 70/80 down into the low 40s each night, and the supply store has very limited items (no milk for 3 days, ended up asking another group of campers) so come well prepared.

Nowhere on the website does it indicate that you need to pay $2 in quarters for a 5 minute shower. After paying $60 per night for this campsite this absolutely should have been included. Water in the sinks was incredibly weak also. Disappointing for a national park.

It was a great space for the amount of people we had. It was right next to restrooms which was a major plus. I would definitely return

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
