Worst experience in my life. There was no access. The road up to the yurt was just one giant mud pit. I could not pass through even in a truck with 4 wheel drive. What a joke. Don't waist your time.

Great weekend at the Yurt. Lots of extra cooking utensils and some supplies in the hut.

The forest service staff has really stepped it up! I took some supplies to the office beforehand to stock the yurt, and they took most of it up there. The smoke had nowhere to go but inside the yurt, even while adjusting the flues for airflow.All in all, great place, great experience!

I love this yurt and have visited several times over the years. My last visit wasnt good because the new wood stove leaked smoke inside, but hopefully will be fixed soon.

Great time, good Snow. Sunny in between the storms! Broke trail in and out, luckily with good visibility . Some of the Trail markers, that were stakes in the ground, were buried under snow.The Deck had 2-3' of snow at the door (which opens in) and snow covered over the railings of the deck. Found a small pile of split wood on deck after shovel clearing.Had to dig 3' snow to get to top of main wood pile, after finding it with a probe. Decided to keep going and had 6-7' snow drifts to ground. Plenty of wood and plenty of snow burying it with no markers. Plenty of people 'marking their territory' next to or on the deck. No map of layout outside so ask support staff where the deck pile and main pile of wood is, outhouse is easy to spot at the backside of yurt. The little amount of information that's posted inside is helpful. Mattresses were comfy, most yurts that weve been to the mattresses are thin and need to double up to not feel the rails, didnt need that with the sturdy bunk beds of Limber Flag.Received answers to all questions, great information, and help from rangers and other government staff when contacted.Go with what the rangers/staff tell you is plowed for parking, unless you like to shovel out. Highly recommend 4X4 over AWD if a storm is in the forecast, helped others get unstuck.Left it better than found it.

This yurt is an annual trip for our family and it is a great destination. We always go in winter and snowshoe into the area. Limber Flag mountain top is a great day hike. It’s three miles in and two of those are uphill and can be difficult in winter. Always allow enough time to get in before dark.

The yurt is in great shape and stocked well. There were no small propane bottles for the lantern, which was a bit of a bummer. There is minimal cooking utensils or pots & pans (stock pot for melting snow and a cast iron skillet). The hike in is marked well. We came in after a couple weeks of steady snow and nobody had been up in a while it seemed. We broke trail the entire way and it was pretty tough. I've done it before with packed snow. The difference is amazing.

My family loved this experience. It’s was cold but the fire wood stove was amazing. Many people who have used the Yurt in the past have left behind extra supplies to help out. There is a mouse problem but the beds keep you off the ground so it’s not a bit deal they just make noise at night.

Nice yurt. Visited in March - the ski in trail was well marked and very followable if you pay attention. The wood burning stove did not put out a lot of heat, so the yurt sleeps a bit chilly.

Great experience. Propane dual burner stove working great. Double bunk beds are roomy enough for 8. Wood supplies available. Others or FS left disinfectant wipes, dish soap, toilet paper, matches, cast iron pan, stockpot (great for melting snow for water), propane lantern, and plastic bin for washing dishes. Splitting maul, hand ax, shovel, and broom are also there. Every trip the previous visitors have left plenty of split wood and kindling. We always take supplies and leave for the next crew. Chop extra wood and kindling for the next group because they maybe arriving later than expected and it’s cold at night. Expect 2+ hour slog into the yurt. 2/3 rds of the route in is uphill (900ish feet vert). Beautiful sunrise and sunsets. Take time to hike up to Limber Flag hill in down time.

the place is amazing, you have a beautiful view, the yurt has everything ypou need to have a good time. The only big problem is that groups of people riding in four-wheelers and raizers was drinking alcohol they stole a folding chair. They used the bathroom and left it dirty and it's only supposed to be for the use of those who rented the place. as they were aolcoholized they kept shouting and doing excess wich is uncomfortable.therefore I had to leave two days before the scheduled.

We had a great time and can't wait to come back during non-COVID times with friends! Even though they seem to have cut down on kitchen supplies, you do NOT need to bring any extra fuel or cookware besides cutlery and bowls/plates... we were unsure what we would be working with so we definitely overpacked. There are also shovels and lots of firewood. You should bring extra fire starter material, though.

Second time, yurt was lovely with beautiful beautiful views. Beds are new and very comfortable. Apparently they took out almost all of the cookware because of COVID, so while we were expecting what was in the pictures, we had to use one pot for all of our cooking and snow melting. This information wasn't in the email.

We enjoyed our winter yurt trip. The 3 miles in and out were quite strenuous but the overall experience at the yurt was great. The views were gorgeous and the yurt was well equipped and spacious. We can't wait to come back with a few more friends maybe in the summer time!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
