Group of young women made their first trip and all of them want to come back, possibly a new tradition. Only thing I would hope for differently would be a full griddle on the camp chef. Thanks!

Wood and kindling was chopped and waiting. Place was clean. Communication was quick and accurate. Definitely stay there again.

Went in winter and it was fully stocked with wood and several gallons of clean water. Definitely a good time.

Always like to go to the yurts! Some frustrations exist: -Not much cut wood, we were not afraid of running out, but two or three more groups after us may struggle. -Used to have basic kitchen supplies: stock pot (in addition to the one used for melting snow), a couple cooking pans & skillets, a couple large bowls, large spoons, spatula, can opener, cups, cereal bowls, plates, cutlery, etc. It's difficult to plan what to bring (and I'd rather not, if I don't have to add the weight). There was a time I donated many of these items just for the yurts. There was a large plastic container that slid under the bed with all this stuff in it. -There used to be some games, as well. -At least two snow shovels are needed. Leave one outside, under deck or something, to get to the door (at least it swings in now, that was a great change!)

Broke trail, first in for the season. Some thin coverage/bare spots but managed (watch for sharp rocks if you go thru the quarry). Mattresses were comfy, most yurts that we’ve been to the mattresses are thin and need to double up to not feel the rails, didn’t need that with the sturdy bunk beds of Grizzly. Follow the guidelines for a smooth and enjoyable trip. And what lowlife would steal from the yurt/USFS?!?!? It’s public reservable property, don’t take away, leave it better than you found it. Thank you Rangers for all the help!

In the description it says you need 4 wheel drive not an atv. You do in fact need an atv for this trip. The people answer the phone and are reliable. The only thing wrong was the fact that it says 4 wheel drive and I have a truck, but it wouldnt make it the road needs an atv. I do need a refund though because I wasn’t able to make it because of this information.

Well equipped. Clean, not many bugs. Smelled ok and mattress were adequate. Directions there were not good, but figured out directions using Google Earth. Thumbs up!

My stay was exceptional. Every detail was taken care of in the yurt. Plenty of split firewood, clean accommodations, shoveled deck, and a fire in the stove. The two forest service employees went above and beyond to provide a most excellent stay. I highly recommend the Grizzly Yurt.

Great trip but one major issue that prevented me from giving it 5 stars. The bad :: the outhouse was full - like three inches from the top full. Super gross - no need to describe in more detail! The rest of it was great. Yurt was clean and firewood was stocked. No dishes other than a pan to melt snow and a cast iron skillet. Toilet paper, paper towels, and hand wipes were plenty stocked. Sat on the deck and soaked up sun and watched the stars at night. Fireplace glass seal not tight, so it did get slightly smokey inside (not a big deal unless asthmatic). A little bit of a climb, but easily do-able if you don’t overpack. Awesome trip - will do it again.

It was stunning. Great accomodations. Just what I was expecting and then some. The winter is a beautiful time to be up there.

rented two different facilities a yurt and a guard station. They were reserved within a two week check in period. it took 5 separate reservations to get what existing space was available. after one night of chasing out the mice I was done. Not easy to cancel or get refund without huge expense. 800.00 paid and maybe got 500.00 back 10 years ago these were great places to stay but those days are gone.

Well marked trail, easy to follow. Yurt is well taken care off, plenty of room for the 6 of us. Awesome location! We had a great time!

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
