If you need to work , ATT is really good at the dam/lock , about 3 miles away
5G 4 barsSharing my cycle route as FYI. #126 is on the water and a barge has been by on week days, twice each day. Not sure if this is the norm. Then. At the other end of the route is the dam/lock that the barge has to traverse. Probably a couple miles from entrance to campgroundBasketball court & ( possibly) a pickleball courtBath house
Men’s side has 2 toilet stalls, urinal and 2 showers. One toilet and one shower are (apparently ADA).Shower could have second curtain for privacy ( as in, it was missing so you derobed and dressed in open area)PVPV GATE HOUSEPV1PV2PV3PV4PV5PVCG

The campground was easy to find. The site was clean and ready to go when I got there, although there was no one at the gate to check me in. As with all CoE's the site was spot-on level, which I appreciated. Electric and water worked as they should.

Very nice, flat, pull-thru spot for our smallish class B+ RV. We took a quick bike ride after we parked to check out the locks and boat launches and the rest of the camp sites and all looked great. We will be back!

Camp sites are level and spacious. Nice to see the barges and boats going up and down the waterway.

Great trip except when someone stole items off our boat and from other camp sites near us. Never had that happen before. Some think it was a camper that pulled out early the morning of the theifs.

Its a beautiful campground. Easy to access sites, easy to drive on roads in campground. Large rig friendly.
@GaryJ4132252 · Camped on Oct 14, 2024 at Campsite #34
excellent, however the entrance to the park from hwy 388 could be better marked. Arriving from the west, both we and our camping friends continued across the bridge and had to turn around.

My husband waited until the last minute to decide to go camping. We have always liked the sewer sites and love being where the water is, but that was not possible. So he told me to book Site 170. He said it did not have a sewer, but it was across from the water. I was hesitant but I booked it. We ended up loving the spot. It is the best nonsewer site there is. We were away from everyone and we had a full panoramic view all around us. It has extra parking right behind us.

While the campground is nice I had the worst neighbors - the camper hosts. They had a bucket light hanging for Alabama which had a strobe light going 24/7. They also let their dog run loose all the time.

I have never been disappointed at Pickensville Campground. Always kept up, clean restroom, courteous hosts, great views, nature walks, bike riding, and just an all around good getaway.

The park is fabulous but has been forgotten. Lots of sites, great views, plenty of room. Not much nearby so its good for relaxing. Try The Lodge Steak & Fish, great food, beautiful restaurant. Internet was fair. We could only pick up 3 channels on TV. Site 120 is FHU.

We love coming to PCG. We were a bit surprised by the way that the place was not taken care of. The grass was high in places, a lot of branches were down as well. We had to weed eat our spot before we could finish sitting up we were in lot 109.The bathhouse was clean at all times, that was the only thing. The other thing that needs to be addressed is the cell usage down there is not comparable to other camp grounds, the state needs to address this, there needs to be ways for people to have signal to be able to reach people in case of emergencies.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
