If you need to work , ATT is really good at the dam/lock , about 3 miles away
5G 4 barsSharing my cycle route as FYI. #126 is on the water and a barge has been by on week days, twice each day. Not sure if this is the norm. Then. At the other end of the route is the dam/lock that the barge has to traverse. Probably a couple miles from entrance to campgroundBasketball court & ( possibly) a pickleball courtBath house

Nice campground, locks are viewable from both sides of the river. Visitors center is just south of o junction in Pickensville.

We love this campground. Unique experience. Bath houses were clean but run down. Would take some $$$$ to upgrade, we understand. Still plan to come back.

Great site. The camp hosts were very good. When we arrived I noticed the site we had booked was really tight on both sides wih trees and it had a huge buckle in the concrete. The hosts told us to park in the next one over.

This was our first time in the campground and it was dark and rainy upon arrival. The campground host was very helpful to in directing us to our campsite. Its a beautiful place and will definitely hope to make it back again!!

Love Pickensville, so quite and nice. Barges come through a couple times a day. Not a lock of restaurants nearby. So plan accordingly

We loved the atmosphere the spots are a little close and our neighbors were very loud with no respect. The restrooms have no trash cans or paper towels. We did love seeing the barges come through! I would camp here again but will be more prepared next time.

This is my new favorite COE in Alabama. So far, I've camped at 7 of the 18 or so campgrounds in Alabama. I camped in February during a very warm week and the campground was practically empty. It's huge. Parts of it were closed and I could see the pipes were wrapped against the cold. I was camped right on the river, as I wanted to see the barge traffic, and was not disappointed.Very quiet campground. Lots of leaf-blower sounds in the distance. Good roads going in. Perfectly level, site 136. Spectrum/Verizon signal was good enough for some streaming with a little buffering. Some easy fishing spots, but no luck. Bath house near me was very clean, looked like fresh shower curtains. No one at the entry gate, so I went on the site about 15 minutes before check-in time. Host came by as I was setting up, friendly, but I never saw him again. Site was clean and ready. No issues, anyway. No stores nearby, just the Dollar General others have mentioned. I will definitely be back as soon as I can!

We have only had our camper for a year now and have stayed at 6 campgrounds so far and Pickensville is our favorite. We have done the resorts and the Yogi but we love watching the river boats and hosts are very nice and accommodating. We will be going back and plan to take our parents.

We camped here on our way towards Louisiana and found this campground to be very well-maintained. The camp host was very helpful and gave good directions. Sight was level, clean, and spacious. Would absolutely come back here!

Our camping experience was wonderful. It was COLD but we had a great time. Watching barges. Great biking. Lots of walking. Large sights. Level. Only 3 TV channels.

Nice campground and very helpful camp hosts. The sites are level and spaced very well. We really enjoyed watching the tugboats going by pushing the barges. This is a nice, clean campground - we will return!

Love Pickensville. Love the water sites. The sites are nice and long and mostly level. Fun watching the barges go by. Water and electric at the site some had full hook ups. Did not use the bathroom facilities. Only spent one night on our way through but would definitely stay longer. Our site was nicely cleaned off of leaves and debris but many were not. Seems like they clean only the ones being used.

noneI drove in without a reservation. The "park hosts" drove up, asking me if I had a reservation. I told them I did not but the electricity wasn't working could they help me get it working so I could reserve online? He commented to just go find one that works. I went to three different campsites and on all three electricity was not working. I was about to drive away when I finally found one that electricity was working. While waiting for my starlink to load I took my dogs for a walk. Here comes another park host(supervisor) letting me know that I had a complaint against me that I had no reservation. I explained the situation to him and that I would go back to my RV and reserve it. He repeated that I was not allowed to park unless I had a reservation and gave me 30 minutes to get one, or he would have to ask me to leave. BTW it was Christmas Eve. The other park hosts drove up while we were talking and wouldn't even look at me. I stayed the night but instead of staying for the 2 weeks I had planned, left the next day.

We have stayed at the Pickensville RV Park several times and will return again. Bathhouses were very clean. Each time we have visited the park Alan was a great host.

We had a great time. We loved watching the boats and barge traffic up and down the Tombiggbee River. Plenty of road ways to ride our Ebikes.

Great location. Bath and shower upkeep was good; better than most COE campgrounds weve been to. T-Mobile signal was very good. Was able to run 2 TVs, 4 security cameras and home WiFi network plus two iPhones while using FaceTime with the grandkids. Watching barges and boats on the waterway was very enjoyable. Camp hosts were friendly and helpful. Would return again.

I visit the lake at least once a week! I love walking around the lake and on the trails inside the"No Hunting" area. Be aware that there is an Entrance to the Noxubee Hills Trail system it is marked and you have to wear your "Orange Blaze" to hike that area during hunting season. It's always clean quiet and peaceful.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
