Dewayne Hayes Campground in Lowndes County is located 1 hr 6 min south of Tupelo, MS with an elevation of 172 feet. There are a total of 108 campsites including 10 tent-only sites. The campground is open all year. 98 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 38 and 120 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. 98 sites have electric and water hookups. Fees range from $20.00 to $30.00. Some amenities include dump station, boat ramp, flush toilets. Activities include boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

Dewayne Hayes was out of sites with sewer hookups. I think only 5 sites have the hookups. So book early if sewer hookups are a must. I went ahead and rented a campsite. All was good, clean, quiet and I had accessibleity to the waterway. Probabally never happen. But would be nice if more sewer hookups up were added. The Dump was available when I was leaving, so no big problem, Just a small inconvienience.

Campground is great quiet and peaceful. We were at site 68 which was a little short for our 36 fifth wheel and room to park truck but we made it alright. Bath houses were clean and tidy. I did not notice any warning of wildlife but we had raccoons invading our outdoor cooking space so be sure and store your griddle at night. We will be back.

We had a great experience at Dewayne Hayes. The hosts were very knowledgeable and helpful. Quiet and peaceful area along the river. Clean bathrooms and very well maintained camping spots. Highly recommend this campground!

Wife and I love this place. It is close enough to town to never miss anything. Columbus Mississippi has about everything you would ever need. The spots on the high numbers have better views of the barge traffic but most are not FHU. I found an app that let's you look at Barge traffic so you can see when one is close. It's called Marine Traffice. Available on Google Play. Probably on Apple store too.

Dewayne Hays is a great campground with flat level camping spots. The people that work there are great. We always stop here when we go back and forth to the gulf of America.

We love this campground and have stayed there a number of times. We enjoy seeing the barges going up and down the river. Lots of wildlife to view even seen some bald eagles. The bathhouse is clean and grounds are maintained but like all the COEs we have camped at in Mississippi and Alabama they could use some TLC. Their roads are beginning to deteriorate and need repaving. Apparently our tax dollars are stretched thin in this department or wasted somewhere else. They have increased their prices from a year ago but are still a bargain.

This campground is a quick drive from Columbus,MS, a nice size town. The campground is in a beautiful wooded setting along the water with a nice paved walking trail through the woods. Sites are nice and level. Several have fill hookups. Its a well kept campground with extremely friendly and helpful hosts. One of our favorites when traveling South each winter

The hosts were very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful with information. The camping sites were very clean and large. The restroom facility could have had more heat and the shower water was not very hot. The facility location to Columbus was a plus.

This was a very nice park and the host are very nice just wish more sites had sewer especially the ones where you can see the barges Coming and going!
