Oshkosh, located along the shores of Lake Winnebago, is surrounded by excellent camping opportunities. Lake Winnebago County Park, just to the north, offers lakeside camping with access to boating, fishing, and picnicking. Kettle Moraine State Forest, about an hour to the southeast, provides wooded campsites and hiking trails through rolling hills and lakes. High Cliff State Park, located on the eastern shore of Lake Winnebago, offers camping with stunning views of the lake, along with hiking, fishing, and swimming. Point Beach State Forest, to the northeast, offers campsites near Lake Michigan with hiking trails, beach activities, and fishing. Navarino Wildlife Area, located to the northeast, offers more remote camping with wildlife watching and hiking through forests and wetlands.

Platte River Campground in Benzie County is located 47 min west of Traverse City, MI with an elevation of 603 feet. There are a total of 171 campsites including 29 tent-only sites. The campground is open all year. 141 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 15 and 40 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. 90 sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $22.00 to $50.00. Some amenities include shower, drinking water, dump station, restroom, amphitheater, flush toilets. Activities include hiking trails.

The campground is open all year. 76 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 30 and 99 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 73 sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $18.00 to $26.00. Some amenities include shower, dump station, boat ramp, swimming, flush toilets. Activities include boating, fishing, floating sports.
