Park is well maintained but some infrastructure improvements could be made. Appears little investment recently.

This was another AMAZING family camping experience! The park Ranger (Nick) became part of our family and shared in making our camping a time to remember. We'll be looking forward to next year!

Love this campground! We have been coming to it for years. What is especially good are the rangers and the other workers there. They keep the place nice and clean. It is quiet at night. We especially enjoy our visits with Nick.

I've enjoyed Blackhawk for decades. It's a favorite of ours. We were on site 55. Easy walk to restroom/shower building. Because of truck problems I could not enjoy the park as much as usual. My problem not yours. Met Bill, the new to me ranger. Very kind gentleman. Was sorry to learn Eric had moved on with the Corp.Not sure how many more years we'll be camping . Getting older and tired.Thank you for years of memories.Len & Gloria Swestka

Im not one to complain, I just roll with the flow. 1) the water spickets that camper can use if needed extra water all around the campgrounds, campers literally had them hooked up into there campers.2) the pit privy on the older side of the campground looked like it hasnt been cleaned in a year, and smelt the same.3) we pull a 35 fifth wheel, when we got there a ranger was outside and said up up there and turn left and its on the right. Wrong! We should have turned right and then left. We ended up where we shouldnt have been with a camper, and had to back all the way out and then found a camp host to get directions.4) the camp site numbers are on the back side of the sites, in small letters, why are they not in the front of the sites so they are easier to see? We were on the older side, Im sure that the newer side was very nice, with flush toilets and showers. I just feel that maybe a little bit of tlc would make a big difference.

I'm really sorry I didn't ask for the name of one of the park rangers. We made a mistake with grilling on the picnic table, and when I reported it and offered to compensate for the damage, the ranger was so understanding and decent in his handling of the situation. He was a younger guy, maybe around age 25 to 35, and was so very helpful and caring about the people who come to enjoy their facilities. There is no doubt, you will be treated very well at this campground. Thank you.

Blackhawk Park is a nicely located campground on the Mississippi river that boasts many water sites that are reasonably spaced and clean. The area has nice historic attractions and cover the history of the Blackhawk war and it's unfortunate end. Bird watching, hiking and other local shops and businesses provide opportunities to please most any visitor.

This ACE was not as desirable as other ACE locations. The directional signage in this park is BAD. Or doesn't exsist. Starting with how to navigate your RV to the designated camping area. It has 2 disctinct areas. Next the fresh drinking water for filling the RV wasn't well marked. We hunted. Once found at least 2 had a notice that the water tested too high for EPA safe levels for drinking. There was one location that apprently tested within safe limits. That wasn't easy to locate but we did find it. The sites are close together for electric. The view in the camping area (furtherest from the entrance) looked onto a pond. The Miss. Rv views were off in the distance.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
