Beautiful, except for the boyscout leader who asked me if they could start setting up in MY CAMPSITE before check out time. I woke up to a man in my site checking the area and said I know its 11am and check out is 1pm do you mind if we start to setting up? I told him I didnt, but if he could please wait until we are done packing up our stuff. He continued to ask 3 more times if we were done and in the end I got annoyed and told him no. I dont get how he thought it was okay to pester someone out their campsite

We have always enjoyed McKenzie Bridge. This time, not so much. We made a reservation not knowing how busy it would be in the 2nd week of April. Come to find out we were the only ones there. We decided to move to a site further away from road noise thinking because it was First Come it wouldn't matter. We pulled our reserve tag and move sites. Big mistake. The next morning were greated by the a drive-in camp host telling us if we wanted to stay in that site we would have to go online and request a refund from recreation.gov, then pay by envelop for the site we are now in. WHAT! We are the only ones here. So we payed twice and are now fighting a refund.

Beautiful campground with lots of enormous trees and shrubs. As tent campers we felt that the sites are large enough and well spaced enough to allow for some privacy. We were not directly next to the river but could hear it. The total number of sites is small so that seems to lend itself to a quieter setting. We heard very little traffic noise from the highway. We would come back.

Lovely shady spot, just a short walk to the river!

No fancy facilities, but beautiful river and peaceful quiet campground.

I loved it! Super calm, river sounds, a lot of trees! Awesome

Lovely forested campground situated on the McKenzie River. A small 20 site charming retreat. There is a boat landing for water enthusiasts adjacent to campsite #20, with plenty of parking & a day use picnic area.

We absolutely loved this campground, it had large sites that felt private and had river access. The only downside was that the singular pit toilet was a long walk from our particular site, but otherwise perfect campground is absolutely stay at again

Beautiful area. Well-kept campground. Good location. Friendly manager.

Great campground. Even though the campground wasn’t super quiet, the sound of the river drowned out any neighbors. We had a site on the river #19 & there was a path that led right down to a little wading area. Very cold! Bathrooms weren’t great & one even ran out of toilet paper, the host really cut it close. Definitely worth checking out the McKenzie General store too, just 4 minutes down the road. We ate dinner there one night, they had games to play, & even live music.

Quiet place, except some highway noise. Lush green this season, high water, too. Too high for much safe fishing in late May. Water: only way to get it is to use old fashioned farm pump, a good upper body workout.

Dream campground that was well-maintained, with lots of shade and privacy from the tall trees. We grabbed campsite #11, which wasn't quite on the river but still walkable and within earshot (like a white noise machine). There's a boat loading spot in the campground where you can pull up a chair to the river if you want to. Timmy was a great campground host. Checked us in quickly, sold us firewood from his truck, and let us enjoy our space!
@JocelynW352023 · Camped on Aug 28, 2022 at Campsite #16
Always a wonderful time. I would have liked to know in advance that firewood was not immediately available for sale as it had been in the past. The camp hosts chopped some for us though so it was fine.

Bathrooms were filthy - not clean when we arrived and never cleaned while we were there. Trash containers were over-flowing when we arrived - emptied four days later.
@SteveS6334481 · Camped on Aug 13, 2022 at Campsite #8
The campsite had not been tended to. There was burnt bits of firewood all over the table. The bathroom was disgusting. It was like an outhouse. The floors were filthy. However, the location and surroundings of the site itself was beautiful.

I'm a water person so I wish I had reserved a spot closer to the boat ramp. It was our first time camping at this campground so we have learned! Our campsite (#3) had a ton of mosquitoes in mid-July. Perhaps being by a moving, rather than still, water source would have improved the mosquito issue.

This was our second year at the campground this year we stayed in space 8. My 2 sons age 5 and 2 really enjoyed their time there and enjoyed playing in the small creeks on the property. The hosts were really nice and were plesent to work with. We are looking forward to coming back next year.

Unfortunately our vacation was cut short because of the horrible experience. We have even to McKenzie 3 times in the past and it has always been a lovely stay. This time, helicopters were flying overhead the entire day. One day, they started at 6 am. We had to spend all day away from the campsite and return at dinner time. It was seriously, tortuous. It would have been nice to receive an email prior to our stay offering to cancel because of the known logging going on. We just could not take it anymore and left a day early. Also, there was no toilet paper in any of the vault toilet rooms. Our reservation was from 6/19-6/23 and the last recorded cleaning was 6/16. Good thing we brought wipes! We will never go back to McKenzie.

No camp host. Somebody had already taken our spot and the bathrooms were closed
@WarrenS8958697 · Camped on Sep 9, 2021 at Campsite #7
The hosts were very friendly and informative. Drinking water is available by hand pumps in the campground. There are vault toilets only. There is no lighting, so it is nice to sleep in pitch dark and listen to the river. The campground is just off of Rt.126, so we did hear some traffic noise at times. We went to Sahalie and Koosah falls nearby. These falls are a definite must see. The McKenzie River Trail is very scenic. Blue Pool access was closed, so maybe we can see it next visit.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
