Hard Rock Campground is located in the McKenzie River Ranger District of the Willamette National Forest (1 hr 18 min east of Springfield, OR) with an elevation of 1,811 feet. The site is normally open from the end of April to the beginning of September. There is a fee of $32.00 per night.

We LOVE Hard Rock as it is a private campsite with a wonderful view and a lot of space. Generations of our family have loved this spot as they are local to the Blue River community. My only problem is there needs to be a sign as more and more strangers ignore there is a gate and walk-in. Some are friendly when approached, some say this is a public spot and insist they can walk into our campsite. I think that could be fixed with a big sing " Reservable Private Campground" with an indication to go to rec.gov or see camp host at French Pete by the gate where H Rock sign is. It is only this year we are getting met with aggressive people that say the sign doesn't indicate private. Therefore I canceled the rest of this year's camping here because of the trespassers being aggressive.
