We spent shy of a week at this wonderful location. More noise than we wanted from the Lookout campground, but we had such a great time and our camp host Leslie was absolutely the best. Great area and would highly recommend. Just be ready for the bugs and algae.

Appreciated the large shaded campsite during the 105F heat wave weekend. Rope helped with going down steep bank to lake for swimming. Some algae in the lake, but we swam.

The campground is OK, lots of space between sites. The bathrooms were kept very clean and the camp host was friendly. There are great hikes within a fairly short distance. However it is a favorite of locals who come up to recreate so can get crowded both in the campground and across the reservoir in the day use area. Lots of jet skis and fishing and/or ski boats on the water. It gets noisy. Not the place to go if you like quiet but overall a nice place to camp.

The camp host was great.

The host was grate. But the fire bane came in and that how I cook my food. I didn't get a refund for the day I couldn't stay with out a way to cook. I would be much happier if the refunded me for the 2 campsites and one night I couldn't stay

We enjoyed our short stay in site #12 at Mona Campground. The host was pleasant and friendly and the site was large and semisecluded. The only thing I can say was below par was that we kept getting a whiff of the restroom across the road.
@JenniferK63850 · Camped on Jul 3, 2023 at Campsite #10
We were originally in site 10 but it was so wedged in between its neighbors there was no privacy. We were able to relocate to #14 and it was great. Easy pull through driveway and close access to drinking water.

Campsites are prime right along Blue River Lake. The camp hosts John and Sheila are a true delight. Very attentive and knowledgeable of everything around the area.

We've been camping at Mona for years. the camp host was very friendly and the restrooms were clean. Our family had a great vacation here.

I have been coming to this campground for years. No matter who the hosts are, they are always friendly, polite and have a few stories to tell, and John was no different. Great host! The water, just perfect for fishing, was right behind our campsite, which was clean and picked up when we got there. Got in the boat and went around the corner from Mona and caught two 11" trout within minutes. I have been here in the rain, hail and magnificent sunrises and this place works its magic on me. Spot #5, if you are lucky enough to get it, is the best of all. It is more like a group spot, since you can place about 4 or 5 tents in it. We had #6 this time and it's not too shabby either. All in all, love this campground. Looking forward to my next trip!

Had such a wonderful stay at Mona. It was my first time but I hope to return as soon as possible! Firewood was available, bathrooms were well-maintained, and the lake was visible from our picnic table. Plus. the camp host was so kind and helpful! The only drawback was I was there with a fractured ankle (not the campground's fault, not a factor in my rating!), and it wasn't the easiest to reach the bathroom from our site. I wish I would have brought a scooter or something. That said, I just need to be more careful playing basketball before any future camping trips.

Great place to stay and very private. We will definitely stay at Mona Campground again.

Great sites, clean bathrooms. Sites were mostly spaced out and large. Water was clean and cool but warm enough for swimming and floating. Camp hosts were very friendly and easygoing. Saturday and Sunday were very busy with the day use just across the lake but everyone left on Monday and we basically had the campground to ourselves for the rest of the week. Downside: lake was not accessible from campsites and the bugs were very intense.

It was a very nice spot. Steep cliff to get to the water. It wasn’t a long walk across the bridge to get to the other side where it’s easier for swimming. It did mean packing up all of out stuff each day to go swim. Still beautiful quiet spot
@RandyM1178769 · Camped on Jul 22, 2022 at Campsite #12
This year was a far better camping experience due to the unseasonal rain in May and June that gave a higher water level in the lake as compared to last year.

This was a good campsite and the lake was nice. Good spacing between sites.

Lots of mosquitos being by the water, come prepared! Clean site and bathrooms were cleaned daily. Peaceful spot to camp
@JenniferD34519 · Camped on Jun 25, 2022 at Campsite #12
Bathrooms were kept clean which is hard to do with vault toilets. Friendly camp hosts that were very helpful and sold seasoned firewood. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was not the camps fault. It were the vicious mosquitoes. Natural herbal repellant definitely did not work with these mosquitoes. Yikes!!! Great trails that led to the best swimming area. Excellent shade. Lots of trees close enough together that we could hang 3 hammocks.

This campground is gorgeous! It's the only thing on that side of the reservoir. Every site is shaded and concealed from the others. Hosts are friendly and helpful, bathrooms are clean and water worked. In case you are curious, the road going around the reservoir and all of the campground roads are paved, which was really nice on a bike. Site 16 was huge and has 3 spots to put a tent. Beautiful view of the water. We came from Idaho and visited the following areas, which were all worth the trip: Tamolitch, Koosah, and Sahalie Falls, Blue Pool, Cougar Reservoir, and Terwilliger Hot Springs.

Great campground on a beautiful reservoir! The campground host was awesome and had firewood on hand if you needed to buy some and didn't want to run into town. It was also maintained better than any other campground I've been to, with the bathrooms being cleaned several times over the weekend. There are lots of great hiking trails and sights to see around the area as well. Highly recommend!

We never had our placemats changed to show the site was reserved. The area was clean and well kept. The water was incredibly low!!

Would give 5 stars, but was not allowed to have a campfire. First time ever getting chewed up by bugs, with citronella candles and bug spray. All because we couldn't have a campfire. Was nice there was water close by, garbage bins, spots pretty far apart for privacy, wood available for purchase (without a campfire), and a stream just down the slope.
@BrianS186 · Camped on Aug 20, 2021 at Campsite #11
Water was let out of the reservoir for our kayak scout outing. I emailed questions to determine a course of action. But it took so long to get a reply that we were not able to adjust. So we had to kayak about an hour away.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
