Anthony Lake Campground, North Powder, OR

Anthony Lake Campground is located in the Whitman Ranger District of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest (2 hrs 25 min south of Walla Walla, WA) with an elevation of 7,148 feet. There are a total of 19 campsites including 17 boat sites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of July to the end of September. 16 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 20 and 35 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Fees range from $16.00 to $89.00.

The trail to the lake was nice and a brief walk. It was so quiet in the evening. Fish were jumping! No bugs, clean restrooms and lots of hiking behind campsites. The fir trees were breath taking. Would return.

Great hikes and a beautiful lake. The host was terrific. I have ATT and had no cell service at the campground. The fishing is good too.

Anthony Lake is a beauty, the yurt was so nice with the rain while we stayed. We stayed warm with the inside fire. Its close to the restroom and water. The only thing I recommend to others would be bring more cushion for the bed.

Beautiful location. The camp hosts are awesome. Yurt #40 is located near lots of foot traffic. The vault toilet is close and so many people are using it. The yurt has your basics. If you do go stay in this yurt, I highly recommend bringing an air mattress-the bed pads are like sleeping on cement! I think it would be great if they installed a hand railing for the steps. The definite pro is the location to the lake. The cons are the bed pads and it could use a good cleaning and some screens to let fresh air in.

Beautiful area..new to me. Sites felt nicely spread out ( stayed in a teardrop camper) and buffered by the forest. I like the concept of hike-in tent sites. Some restrooms were very clean. Some not so much (and quite stinky). Otherwise campsite was clean. Was unable to verify my reservation with camp host once we arrived....a bit hard to them track down and tag on the site I reserved...made me concerned since it appeared to be a quite busy time.

Beautiful, quiet campground. Super-helpful and kind camp host. The sites are well-spaced from each other and perfect for tent camping. If you’re bringing an RV make it a small one and be sure to research the sites before you book. Most driveways are only big enough for one car, truck or van. This is a great “off the grid” spot - close to the lake for paddling and fishing and the trails for hiking and biking. The mosquitoes can be fierce, too, but that’s because it’s so beautiful here!

Would appreciate a lock on the door. I've stayed in many yurts at state parks in Oregon, and they all had a lock on the door. The yurt I was in had many flies in it. The camp host was aware of this. Then at night, there were many (20 or more) large moths on the inside of the skylight. That is where most of the flies were also. They are getting in somewhere. Creepy!! Otherwise, loved the yurt and appreciated the stove and propane to use. The state park yurts don't have that! Ultimately it would be wonderful to have a screen door to get the heat out, fresh air in, and no mosquitos in. There were millions. Thanks

Camp host was terrific young man that helped straighten out a miscommunicated site reservation. All parties were satisfied with the the solution to a double reserved site. It also helped that there were open sites and that most sites are very nice.

Camp host was very helpful and made rounds regularly. He assisted me in finding a first-come first-serve spot that would accommodate our camper van. There was plenty of potable water, garbage cans, restrooms, and the campground was clean. Anthony Lakes is a premium location offering hiking, kayaking or paddleboarding, fishing, rock climbing, and bicycling during the summer.
