North Bend Park Campground in Mecklenburg county is located 1 hr 8 min north of Wake Forest, NC with an elevation of 342 feet. There are a total of 234 campsites. The campground is open all year. 218 sites can accommodate RVs between 10 and 80 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 131 sites have electric and water hookups. Fees range from $24.00 to $125.00. Some amenities include shower, dump station, playground, boat ramp, swimming, amphitheater, flush toilets. Activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

site 78 is great. Love the peace and quiet of off season camping. Staff was great. Bathroom and shower in good shape considering Holiday weekend.

This place was awesome. A friend and I spent 5 nights here in Nov. Off season. Peaceful, Beautiful, Clean, Friendly, Hot water "Whoop Whoop" and great price.

The park was beautiful but the website was a mess. The website showed that beginning Nov 1 the sites would be first come first serve. That is not a problem in itself but the website did not say anything about 2/3 of the park were being closed on the 1st or that water at all the sites was going to be turned off.

Excellent location with lake side RV camp site. Hiking/bike trail in the park. T-Mobile cell service available with two bars.

We were there for the change over from regular reserved sites to first come first served winter camping. Our original site closed at 2 PM on Nov 1. We had to stand in line at the gate house for 2.5 hours to change site to the "winter camping" loop ( and many other campers who were already on site on that loop) So, beware of camping during that changeover. Apart from that inconvenience, the park is beautiful and the facilities well maintained. The water was cut off on Nov 1 as promised, but we were able to fill our fresh tank 2/3 full before the cutoff. Also, 2 of 3 bathhouses were also locked. There are 24 sites in the FFS loop, so be prepared to not get a site, especially on a weekend. You will probably have better luck traveling mid week,

The park is very well kept, with excellent level sites throughout. Many sites are unserviced but still in excellent locations with nice water views. The sites with electric and water are still nicely placed and not crammed together. Loved our stay there.

This was a great experience. Employees at the front check in gate were very helpful. They even gave advice on how to back up the trailer due to how tight some roads are. They all had fire pits with grill grates and picnic tables. They said there would be light polls but our camp site did not have one, so please do not forget a light source because it can get very dark. Area was also quiet and the other campers were nice. Site had bathrooms and showers in walking distance. There is a place right before the campsite that sells wood that used the honest system. A bundle of wood is 7 dollars compared to walmart selling theirs for 9 dollars (10 dollars the tax). I give this location an 9.2 out of 10. Last but not least, prep before. All stores including groceries stores are about 25 minutes away.

Campers are respectful of the campground rules. Restroom shower combo rooms are clean. Nice to just relax on the beach area of the lake. When the water is low you can walk a distance along the campground waterfront. Nice place to unwind. Areas for RV with power and water and other tent sites with no water or electric. Friendly greeting when entering at the entrance. When entering the camp ground the greater is very helpful, glad to answer any questions.

Best camping ever! We keep returning because there just isn't any place better. Great RV sites, well kept restrooms, and regular visits by Park Rangers all day and night. Good Water and Electrical hookups and prices are great for Seniors!

Beautiful views, especially of sunrise! Bath house was an easy walk. There is no real shade at this siteperfect for nice fall/spring days, but would be very hot in summer. Overlooks the swim beachwhich was not in use while we were therebut Im sure get very busy and loudconvenient if you have kids who want to swim. We would definitely go back to the park! We might pick a different spot in summer.

North Bend is camper's dream! From lakeside primitive camping to wooded, electrical accommodations and well manicured camp pads. You literally can get the best of both worlds right here. And not to mention the clean well kept facilities. Did I mentioned BEACH! You literally feel like you are looking out at the ocean and on a real beach. My favorite CG hands down! I think after posting videos of my camp, North Bend is going to be one of those places where it's going to be hard to book. The secret is out..

There were 3 dogs that barked non stop, day and night. We reached out to a park ranger circling the campground, he wasnt very friendly at all and actually told Mike to step away from his vehicle. The buddy campsite next to us had 7 tents on it, 7 vehicles parked all around it, and at least 25 people there. While they were not overly loud, why was that allowed? Your campground rules dont permit this. They only camped there for one night.

We have visited this park for well over 27 years. The only down fall we have had is when we did not bring the boat this time.The roads, shower facilities, playgrounds and swim beaches are very nice and clean. Fishing and swimming are enjoyable.The camp sites are spacious and well-kept and plentiful. We always enjoy the walks in the evening to view the stars when they are out and the peacefulmornings watching the sun rise. Just don't tell too many as it is hard to get a site, LOL
