North Bend Park Campground in Mecklenburg county is located 1 hr 8 min north of Wake Forest, NC with an elevation of 342 feet. There are a total of 239 campsites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of April to the end of October. 221 sites can accommodate RVs between 10 and 101 feet. All sites are currently reservable. 136 sites have electric and water hookups. Fees range from $20.00 to $125.00.

Lovely campground! Our spot was great because it was right by the water and we had a trail that went down to the lake. This was helpful because we brought our paddleboards. Definitely recommend!

We camped here for one night but I wish we had had more time to explore the area as it was beautiful. The campsites were well set up with a nice flat gravel area for tents, electricity, water and a fire ring. A little prep table and lantern hook were there too which were nice touches. It was too cold for swimming but the lake was beautiful and we might have done so if we had stayed longer. The only thing stopping it from being 5 stars was that the showers were a little grungy and not very private with.

Very difficult to get a site by phone!!! Wait times are awfully long. Not bring a computer person I am unable to get a site on line so I loose all the good sites. Shame SHAME

My stay here was absolutely amazing! I solo camped with my dog and we got a site last minute with its own beach. The view was amazing. It was a primitive site on the lake. I love this campground and the way it is laid out with multiple peninsulas which makes for a lot more lakefront sites and small beaches at the end of each peninsula. There are multiple areas to put in kayaks and paddleboards as well as designated boat ramps. I love that dogs are also permitted in the water as long as it is not at a designated swimming beach. The sites and bathrooms are maintained well. I will definitely be back soon.

Northbend is a beautiful campground. The lake is so much fun to kayak, stand up paddle board or just float. The beach is nice. We love it there.

North Bend is our favorite place to camp. It's so relaxing and there are no golf carts. We like the new bathroom design in loop B & C.Like the easy access to the beaches.

A favorite quiet, well organized and well run camping area. Awesome team at the gate. Bring strong tent pegs!!!!! Practice your backing in skills before arrival. Some sites have very steep inclines or declines.

Large shady site, but prepare to pick up lots of trash. I came to watch the Perseid meteor shower, so went to the more open public beach area and was surprised to see/hear a very raucous party going on at 1 AM in the group site. I couldnt hear it at all in my own site, but it did keep me awake to look for meteors!

My wife and I stayed at campsite 209D for a week in the middle of August. The campground itself is very beautiful with a lot of campsites with views of the lake. Bathrooms were nice and clean throughout the week since fewer people were there and it was very peaceful where we were located. We liked the bathrooms much better at campground B, they had individual bathrooms with showers and doors with locks it would be nice if campground D had those. There is a lot to do outside such as fishing, hiking/biking trails, geocaching, disc golf, and swimming. The fishing is great! The only downsides are the dump station is so far away and we had a hard time getting into our site. It is way too narrow of an entrance for a long rig It would be much better if they would take out a couple of the railroad ties at the entrance of the campsite.

We LOOOOVE this campground. We have 4 kids ages 12-16 and they never complain about the "family time". They love fishing and kayaking from the campsites. I love the clean bath and shower houses and the friendly employees. They truly care.
